For the favourite brushes, You can actually do that. If you press the plus button to the right of the coloum, it will be added to the " Custom" Column. Also, in the Custom Column it shows you your latest brushes that you used!

Came to say this and add:
I've returned to old outlines on ibis and it takes forever to find what brush I used and what pixel size.
Would love the syringe tool - but instead of picking colors, it picks up what paint brush you used and its size.

    • @ToddDolce
      @ToddDolce 2 года назад +19

@@saaucii308 nice idea. I mean not only allow us to save our brushes and their sizes and specs....but also allow everything that was used per file. So six months from now when you want to revisit an illustration to refresh it or simply continue work on it you aren't having to guess what brushes and sizes you used. Basically it would package those details with every project. I haven't used Ibis since many years ago when it just wasn't very good. It is now on my short list of apps to keep my eye on. It looks really nice. Maybe we might have a Procreate competitor really soon!!!

it's great if you go on pinterest and look for brush qr codes and import them for things you need. I have a load of brushs saved in my custom that i imported, and a bunch of great lineart brushes so I don't have edit one to my critiques or have to make one myself :]

The paid version of ibis is next to nothing for a great app. My ipad finally died so i miss procreate, and the mobile version of clip studio paint requires internet to use, so when i replace my tablet ill most likely use ibis. It has tons of options and works very well. I'll most likely be replacing my old ipad with an xp-pen magic tablet because ipads are insanely over prices. The Favourite Brushes one is actually available in the custom coloumn, all you have to do is press the plus button beside the brush, and it'll automatically put it in the custom coloumn where theres a favourite option which you like, and for the non user friendly interface and all, Ibis Paint actually has a YT channel where they teach everything new that's coming onto Ibis Paint, as well as drawing tutorials and etc! So it's really easy to figure them out, when a new update is out you'll just get a notification on your device about the features in the new update.

I absolutely hate Procreate. Just it’s basic fill tool is a pain to use, it doesn’t have as much brushes and some of the basic things I like to do on my drawing like just adding a white outline or adding a grid just cannot be easily replicated in Procreate. It doesn’t have text tool, every time I export my time-lapse by default it looks like garbage, the only thing that I think it has that makes it slightly better than ibis paint is the ability to make larger canvas and the animation tool, aside from that it’s nothing special….clip studio paint is fine though.

@@Varun.krishnamv I primarily use IP and so far, I only had one crash and that was it but on my tablet none. Ofc, not saying there aren't any potential for crashes but for the most part for me, it works pretty well. I probably would give ibis a shot but I'm very used to IP

    Hi Brad,
Great Review on the Ibis Paint X but Just a word & question:
    1. Could you put in the written description of review What Tablet you are using with the App------A. Samsung tab S8 Ultra (I scrolled down until I saw it in the comments)
    2. Which other Samsung tablets/processor ie: S6(2022), S7, etc. would work well with APP?

The one thing I want in procreate is the ibisPaint bucket tool.
Procreate is just so annoying that I just go color like a coloring book that takes so long.
I’m not sure how to fix it though?

something about this app just always feels off to me. I cant quite place it. Personally I'm more of an art studio pro guy. Lets you use photoshop brushes and more importantly, seems to behave as they're supposed to, unlike procreate which doesn't, at all. I would suggest doing a little update on that possibly, they've updated the UI a lot.

    Eyy Brad
can you do a comparison of pen lag of different apps on Ipad and Samsung?
I've noticed Ibis paint lags for me a ton while Airflow lags much less, but i dont have the newest devices to compare if this has been rectified or whether the device I want has more lag on an app I prefer.
It would be hepful to know which apps have the best optimization!

I actually prefer Ibis Paint to CSP on tablets - as messy as the UI is, CSP is somehow worse. They're also both targeting a similar audience so the main features are similar too (tho CSP obviously still has more tools).
One thing I'm kind of meh on is using IPX brushes for painting, this is why I prefer Infinite Painter, brushes just feel so much more natural.
IP just got new version (tho still working out the bugs), Huion sketch is undergoing redesign (that's why it's no longer in app store), and Sketchbook is plotting a new course now that Autodesk is out of the picture - so looks like exciting stuff ahead!

There's a recent column for brushes.
Open the brushes tab, then click the "custom" option from top, done. You can see 5-6 recently used brushes there.
Only one flaw that annoys me a bit, is its colour palate.

Depends on the program. Procreate? Definitely, its only competitor would be fresco. But for ibispaint, krita exists and its way better for desktop than what ibispaint could be, also there's clip studio paint if people is willing to pay money. + How would you manage the advertisements on pc?
