- Another tip - when you finish roller painting for the day, throw the used roller cover away and start with a new one in the morning (keep the roller handle). Cleaning a roller is an awful job and with the money you'll be saving by doing the job yourself you'll have plenty of money to buy a couple of extra roller covers and you'll save a few hours of work.
Painting a House Exterior - PRO tips is a video that gives great information on how to paint the outside of a house.

@@DiyMoviesSA How much paint do I need to repaint an average 3 bedroom south African house in and outside. Roughly how many litres of paint. Thanks
@@GrumpyTinashe That would depend on what surface you have, the size of the house, how many coats you are going to apply, what paint you use and various other factors. The best thing for you to do is go down to your local paint store with your house dimensions and ask them.
Thanks

Wow wonderful information and I learned a lot. I wish I could paint the exterior of my house so that it look better brand new to save more money but I'm scared to paint the top when I'm up with the ladder.
No problem, you can hire a helper who knows how to paint and he/she can do the high sections and you can do the lower sections.
Even pressure washing the house will make it look very good. Perhaps start off with pressure washing - wet all the walls with water using a hosepipe and let them sit for half an hour to loosen the dirt. Then pressure wash the walls to take off the dirt, just follow the instructions in the video.
It's very easy and good fun if you don't mind getting wet. 😄
I'm sure you'll be well pleased with how good it looks.
Good luck, Don.

Created a playlist just for you. How long should I let the concrete dry after pressure washing?
Usually 10 to 20 minutes is generally enough time (depends on heat & humidity in your area)
all those splochy spots after the house starts fading oh goodness not to mention the ununiformed rolling skills but atleast it was pressure washed that so it prevents future peeling but the money is worth having a prossional because the cause of a homeowner attempting will leave unsatisfaction with drips of paint on the floor not to mention if they spill a five gallon bucket just call a pro unless you are a natural

There’s a saying here in the states it goes Work the work don’t let the work work you and if I painted the way you guys just painted that house I would have a broken back, don’t they have roller poles in South Africa made specifically to hold a roller?
No Bwahna.

Spray and back roll

An exterior paint job that is sprayed will not last nearly as long as painting your home with a brush and roller. If you're looking for quality and a long lasting paint finish, this is the only way to go.
@@DaruDhillon That's a woefully uninformed and nonsensical comment
Living room how to painting
that's how a professional does a job,I would probably use very long extensions to do the top of the house though, rather than risk being paralysed for life by using a really tall ladder!
Unfortunately you can't get into high corners or do edges with a long extension. You have to get up there.
If you're afraid or not competent, It's probably best for you to employ someone who's able to do the job without hurting themselves.
@@donmorris3699 eh? i did my house, front and back in September 2008 and mid 2021.i used a brush as well, connected to two very long pieces of wood,by drilling a hole into the brush handle.i also used the small rollers for the corners.you have to work out the rollers a bit, first of all, when painting above a window so that it's not loaded with paint,to avoid paint splashing the window glass.keep a bucket of warm soapy water, clear water and a cloth on an extension pole to wipe away any window paint spills!good man good man!
My friend dieded from falling off a 20 ft ladder, when he attached his paint bucket to the top with a wire. :(
Roller extension saves ladder work & back, just saying!
Roller extensions are great and very effective. Unfortunately you have to use a ladder to do the edging, Most painters roll the area while they're up the ladder. It's easier to see what needs to be done when you're up close to the wall and light is not reflecting down at you. But I love extensions and use them as much as possible and they are mentioned at 5'24" of this video.
Professionals don't paint straight from the can they use a kettle or scuttle
Your workers are breaking their backs their working harder not smarter. They should be using a pole on that roller handle much easier an quicker Then climbing up an down ladders an bending over they make it look so much harder then it has to be.
Professionals use a pole
gs d professionals use a 1 gallon pail not the w hole 5
Are u meant to dip the roller I. Bucket? Ur meant to have a tray
Do I need a black guy to do it?
