Guys like y’all make me happy I have the VQ37 instead of the vr30, I got the car in 2016 when the new engine just came out and I knew nothing about turbos so I was scared and now I’m designing my own turbo kit in CAD and solid works 😅
It's a good thing you went VQ37, early model 3.0tt's had some turbo seals issues.

excellent work congratulations but I have several questions about the transmission which was the one they used or if they did a transmission rebuild
Factory transmission, but this has a billet flex plate and transmission cooler to support the increased power.

Since this Q50 is AWD, the only forced induction option would be supercharger. Turbo kit is only compatible with RWD. Yes does work with stock block as well.

What allows the Q50 to run a turbo guard on this setup without a return system compared to the G37?
They are the same engine, however we limited the rpm rev limiter so that it would not make to much boost and pass the limitations of the stock fuel non return system

Yes that is correct, so it is using the stock 7at transmission
Would absolutely love to see A 3.0 vs the 3.7 with this setup. Need to shut these weak exhaust note new gens up
3.0 better just bc how cheap it is to get hp out of it but if u build a 3.7 ofc its gonna be faster

Are prices going to be similar to the stillen kit. And I assume you guys use a different blower ?
Our kits use the V3-SI blower which does perform better over the SCI used in the Stillen Kit. ;)

Does the kit work on the 2015 premium with electronic steering?
We think it should, but without testing fitting that exact setup we wouldn't be 100% sure. We would want an installation at our shop with that configuration before we would feel comfortable shipping out a kit. To ensure fitment and/or update the install manual.

Yes! Superchargers will work with AWD and RWD :)

For somewhat daily drive use: Is it better to have a Supercharged VQ with 550 HP or a VR with 550 HP? Which one is going to be more reliable down the line?
I have been debating whether to stay VQ or go with the VR Swap. I would like to hear your input
Bro I’ve thinking about doing the same but from I hear on the q50 forums the vq will last longer than the vr and be more reliable in the long run. So tbh I would stick with the vq

@@brokeq50boi80 thats precisely my concern. I have also read that for Longevity the VQ is better. Plus I feel like it would be more cost efficient to repair the VQ as opposed to the VR.
@@slg4705 yeah it would be more cost efficient considering the vq has also been around longer so people know how those engines tick. The main thing I’ve heard from people about the vr is the on the older version of the engine the belts were super unreliable. Newer vr’s don’t have that problem but idk the vq has stood the test of time with some vq’s going for 300,000 miles before finally giving out. Also the vq still has really solid internals that can handle apparently up to 700 whp with your biggest concern before then is with the head and making sure the head doesn’t lift. So technically for right now the vq has the higher cap for power and more reliable , especially if you build those motors. Although imo 700hp is plenty especially if you have the awd q’s but the vr power wise is eventually going to overtake the vq
I would go for vq just because it has more background & aftermarket knowledge on longevity. The vr isn’t new new either but has less information. Although more & more Motorsport companies are putting time in effort into the vr30 for the new Z so it could be worth it to go TT. The biggest debate nowadays is the price. I hear you can make an extra +100hp stock with just a tune on the vr30 (warranty purposes).
& upgrading the vq transmission is an inevitable purchase for big HP
I already have a 2018 Q50 Red Sport transmission swap with a custom driveshaft in my 2013 G37s sedan. How much for the same kit? Is it possible to reach 600whp and have higher torque on pump gas?
Power and torque with be proportional on a supercharger setup....if you would like more torque then e85 would be the next thing...for a quote on this kit shoot us an email to support@sohomotorsports.com
Nice!! How long till that tranny pops though? I’ve heard swapping the VR trans in there is pretty simple and it handles the power/torque better
Great question, it really all depends on various factors such as mileage/condition of trans, as well as how the vehicle is driven and maintained. Yes, the next level from here would be a VR trans swap upgrade. 😄

There is no tuning support on the hybrid models unfortunately. :(
Is this the A2A Lyte kit?
This is the full kit that includes our Soho manifold. Lyte version would retain oem manifold. 😀
A 4.1 Bc stroker on the Vq vhr with boost will mop on vr’s we just need someone to do it. I wish I would’ve got a q50 3.7 over my sho I would of done the Bc kit myself.
You do not need a 4.1 stroker to do that, it can be done with a stock engine or a mild built engine 🙂

But have you driven a 3.7 super charged? Personally, I'm with you, as far as ease of modification. the tt is a heck of a lot easier to get to these horses.....But there's something sexy about a super charged 3.7 though
@@patsjoholm not supercharged but NA. Where I live in north florida people love their JDM cars but don't mod them that heavy. They do bolt ons at best.

We don't know of any reason it couldn't be done, we just haven't done one to have the measurements to verify what all is needed.

what are the plans for an air filter in regards to long term usage? the screen is not something people are going to do as a daily or near daily driver status.
for anyone with concerns about transmission iisues, just swap in a VR30 7AT. its a minimal mod to get it in there and substantially better than going to a built transmission as long as you stay under 500-550wtq.

Full kit development, transmission upgrades, tuning, and installation, yes around that range. Depending on power goals and extra options it varies greatly which is why we ask folks to email.

is this done on a stock VHR motor? if not how well would it hold up on a stock motor and transmission?
