@@aliastalkss Vr are cheaper to build, vq can get you more power if you boost it with a turbo, or a supercharger kit, and a upgraded transmission to hold the power, look up supercharged vq, ill still pick a 3.0 just for the fact how easy it is to get hp out of it
@@presidential3228yeah I feel the same way about it, seeing how much cheaper it is to get respectable power on the VR compared to the VQ has kept me from building my sedan G37x. Honestly just wanting to get a Q60 but I’m really loving the G coupe more and more.

I typically have the same car but, not IPL. Infiniti G37S Coupe, what's a rough cost for this Build? Instead of a single Turbo, would you apply the same mods like the VR Transmission (must), pump gas, 09 ECU, Hellcat pump, OS Giken Diff (must) for a Supercharger setup dual exhaust? Hit me up, I'll send my car right to you unless you got a shop in So Cal.

Putting out another Banger. Is the hellcat fuel pump a must have . Or can I get away with the aeromotive 450?
Depending on your potential power, the 450 will be fine
When you did the trans did you use the VR drive shaft too??
I wonder if 09 ecu would work in an 08 HR sedan. I dont see why not, and im 6mt so i would think that simplifies it a lil bit. Im doing the v2 S/C kit over the fall and i would really like to be able to use ecutek over uprev. Also would like to do the 3.7 vhr block with my HR heads.
Id love to hear if anybody has any experience using ecutek on an HR or 09 ecu swap with 07/08 HR sedan.

Is the process of swapping the 5 speed to the vr transmission same as going from the 7 speed to the vr?
looking at 2011 g37x exited lookin at tmrw 73k miles nothin done 12k.
this is my exact setup as well on my IPL. I'll be tuning with Soho soon only thing that worries me is my last tune with dynamotorsports paddleshifting was rough, jerky, ... felt like gears were grinding, far away from smooth shifting on the vr30 trans, also when idle car wanted to brake thru the red lights had to hold brakes hard.
You need a better tuner

I’ve been torn between an LS swap and a turbo kit for my G37s for quite awhile now. With the good swap kits, it’s crazy to me they cost about the same amount.
An LS swap would be stupid , just get a car that actually came with an LS.

Can you help me to protect my transmition ‘cause I want more power on a Q50?
Now this makes me wonder how well the 9 speed in the new Z would do with the VQ37. Since it fits the VR30 it could fit the VQ37.

The only thing is that you would need to buy it brand new since it just came out so it's gonna be over 6-7k ez not including kids to make it work

We do not currently have a Turbo kit for a Q50 3.7, we are in the process of building a V2 A2A Supercharger kit for them though. So, my current goals is 415-450whp with the G37. Will it be fine if I run this turbo setup with a 5AT (even though it's not necessarily good for power) and UpRev tuning?
Running it with a 5at will fine as long as you keep the torque low and stay within that power goal 🫡
How much torque does it make? I heard that the vq can't handle too much torque. Is that true?
Depends on the vq
DEs need to be below 400 ftlbs of torque
HRs need to be below 500 ftlbs of torque
VHR need to be below 600 ftlbs of torque
All these figures are at the wheels as well

Depends so greatly on your goals, budget and future plans. The lyte kit is super affordable, and the turbo kits grow a bit easier with your plans/goals. Unless your AWD, then the choice is a bit hard.

Easy 10k, easy! I’m pretty sure that’s on the low end, kind of why I’d like to get in a VR but I really love the VQ just takes some good money to see these numbers and to also be solid.

Excellent job! What are the oil and coolant temps looking like during normal driving verses in boost?
With a 34 oil row, 180-190 just cruising. And 190 coolant temps on stock radiator. Those are my numbers living in florida with a boosted setup
@@vaaro_m That's amazing for a top-mount turbo set up. I recently got my temps close to that range with my A2A supercharger set up, but I still feel a lot of heat when I open the hood after a long drive. Given that a turbo charger is even hotter than a supercharger, it's amazing that top-mount turbo set ups can still maintain excellent in-cabin temps. I also have a 34 row oil cooler and recently upgraded my thermostat on my stock coolant system set up.
@@brianjackson5732 a vented hood also helps with that too. But even with what i have, preventing the engine bay to get hot like that is inevitable lol.
So the vr transmission will work on the 08??? I thought you could not swap the vr 7 speed transmission in to the 08?
Yes, you can do a VR trans swap on the 2008 models. You just have to swap the ECU to 09+ with Ecutek along with all supporting parts etc. Shoot us an email if you would like a quote. support@sohomotorsports.com

We answered on the supercharger video, we have done supercharger setup before on the 3.7L. But this would be a custom fabrication project to turbo one.
What happened between 3k and 4k revs. Don't really like that....other than that nice graph
