  • Have had this video requested a few times so I figured we get it made. In this video, we cover how to install and set up your coilovers as well as address some common issues that people have. We are using my 2017 Subaru WRX STI as the install car. I have a second-hand set of Fortune Auto 510s with Hyper co springs, however, all coilovers should install in the same fashion and follow the same procedure.

    Tanner I just wanted to thank you man after watching a few of your oldie but goodie coil-over videos I got mine installed tonight on my 04’ sti. Relatively easy, but I like to see it before I attempt it as I know my limits lol. Based on your recommendation and also doing some research of my own I went with the Fortune Auto 500’s (with rear camber plates and the default 8k front/ 6k rear spring rates). Stoked to get the height adjustment down to take it for a spin. Thanks again bud!!! ☄️

    Pro Tip. General bolt info
    Turn the nut. Hold the bolt. So impact goes on nut, “never” the bolt.
    Otherwise the torque applied to bolt causes internal twisting and compromises the rigidity and strength. Leads to wear. Often times why you can’t reuse them, or don’t stay tight.

    Front wheel adjustments only had me a little nervous but when you started talking control arms, and camber on the rear and I saw the sway bar I got lost lol. I want to lower my WRX w/ coilovers, and I heard a sway bar will help with car roll in turns. Can I do both of those installs at the same time or do they need to be separate?
    And what’s the point of adjustable control arms? I couldn’t tell if you had adjustable control arms or not. I swear your videos have more detail than any others I find

    • @Smeedia
      @Smeedia  2 года назад +1

      Can definitely do them at the same time 😁 having adjustable arms will give you more control to dial in your alignment exactly how you want it. The stock arms have some adjustment but not nearly the same amount as aftermarket will provide 🥳
