Smeedia great content dude, but I have to agree/disagree on your 4th item especially if you are new to owning a Subaru and/or stick shift. I AGREE that a short shifter should be one of the top mods you do but I DISAGREE that it should be one of the first. I feel you should drive at least 20k on the stock shifter and then do the upgrade so you can really feel what improved. Of course doing it early is not going to hurt anything but you'll never know how good it improved the feel over stock. Keep up the great work, I'm so glad I discovered your channel.

Hey man, love the content. keep up the good work. I do have a question for you though... I purchased my first WRX about a year ago (2011 WRX limited sedan in PBP). The car came with an invidia catted downpipe, invidia n1 single exit exhaust, Cobb Accessport, SF airbox and Cobb short shifter and it is running the Stage 2+ OTS tune. The car now has 159000km on it and I feel it needs some love to bring it back to life.... I plan to get a Protune and AOS soon and I understand it's about the time to do the timing belt/water pump but... What modifications/upgrades can I do to improve the drivability of the car? The car is rust free which is quite a find for where I'm from (Canada) and I plan on keeping it for years to come as year-round DD (it will be winter driven). I'm thinking more in the realm of reliability as it will be a daily driver. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! also if any commenter sees this id love you hear your suggestions as well
Thats a whole novel! Lol the mods outlined it he video below will be perfect for what your looking for, all will enhance longeviry and reliability while maintaining the drive ability of the car 🔥😁 ruclips.net/video/V-OzkojIVJM/видео.html
Man i got min 3 weeks ago a 2019 wrx and love the freaking car. Took almost whole year to get an approval feom the wife but finally she said go get the car.
I love your channel man, super useful advice of course but just the way you put the videos together and the knowledge and depth is incredible. You're easily my go-to Subaru video guy haha.. thanks for the awesome content, I find myself just watching videos I have no business watching because im not even on that mod yet, but get sucked in regardless hahahaha. Great channel and will forever recommend your videos. Thanks for helping me add onto my 16' the boomba ss is super smooth... all the thumbs up.
Picked up my 2020 STI about a week before this video came out. Since then, got an Accessport and Short Shifter. Next week, getting the AOS, Turbo-Back and pro-tune done. Thanks for putting these vids together, I find all the product recommendations and mod suggestions/explanations super informative. Keep at it!
@@Smeedia Fingers crossed. Also have a Cyl 4 cooling mod and Cobb BPV going on as well. Just re-watched your "Path to 340 HP" video to start shopping next steps. Keep doing what you do, sir.
my first mods that DID not void my warranty- i literally asked audi for permission before doing 1. intake 2. turbo inlet 3. intercooler 4. kw v3 coilovers 5. bc forged rims on ps4s tires and 6. for bonus- iroz catch cans( engine and dsg)
Just bought a 2019 sti, I had a 2013 sti before and ran an ots map from cobb with their downpipe and intake. Now I wish I got a pro tune for that one, because the gains didn't feel that significant but I just didn't wanna spend the extra money for a pro tune. Needless to say I'm going to do things properly this time. It does help the 2019 has stronger internals.
just blew my 19' sti stock, at 29k and denied warranty on stock car. Fuck SOA, and said f it, project car time.. Got a IAG stage 1 short block with IAG AOS, Bigger oil pan kit, 12mm oil pump, ap, cobb 20g turbo, grimmspeed dry con air filter, remark catback (str8 pipes).. injectors and fuel pump coming next. Doin it right.
Yassss. First mod on my wrx was the kartboy shifter and bushing. It’s Like a brand new (and better) car now! Next for me will be lowering suspensions and sway bars!
Totally agree because these are mods I got on my WRX hatch, with extra like drop in KN filter, rear sway bar, steel braided lines, DBA rotors/hawks pads and just good A/S sport tires. Look stock from the outside, but I’m fine with it. Surprise a bunch of cars
I'm having Deja Vu... lol, this reminds me of your beginner's guide to mods video. There are like 3 videos of yours I watched repeatedly and took notes on after buying my WRX in March. That seems so long ago, for your channel and my car too. Thanks man! Don't ever stop having fun making videos, you seem more serious in this one.
nice job bro ive had 14 stis from my first 2004 java black pearl bought back in 2006 (used) and back then if u saw an STi let alone an STi with a turbo back exhaust and blow off that was like seeing a Unicorn holding hands with polar bear lol. and ive also owned 7 WRX (x3 2002 bugeyes, 1 05 wrx wagon, x2 wrx widebodys and a 15 wrx.) and ive also built over 55 wrx, sti, legacy 2.5 gt, forester xt's and even a few saab 9-2 those were just ej205 motors and trans its basically was a wrx in a saab wagon body. but anyway keep up the good work love the channel.
Birds of a feather flock together! Essentially my list of foundational power making💪💪🏾 and driver feedback mods I did. Those more or less get the snowball rolling because after you have bitten the warranty busting forbidden 🚫 fruit Pandora’s box is open and you will want no crave more🤣.
My personal opinion is the short shifter from the factory is worth it. I test drove a 2023 wrx premium, with the Sti shifter from factory and the gear box was tight. No shifter shake, no slip, every gear was easily found unlike some other manual cars I’ve owned. I’m going to be taking a 2023 wrx limited they have coming in. I was going to wait to order the TR, but for $48k msrp as rumored, I just don’t see the benefit. I can add Sti brakes to the 2023 limited, im most likely going to add lowering springs as I want it to be daily driveable and I don’t need recaro seats as the stock Subaru seats are pretty on point. Also to note, you move up to 19” wheels over the 18”. I’d rather have 18” wheels as their are more people who stock an 18 over a 19”. The tr comes with the same engine, Brembo brakes Tuned springs Recaro seats Some alcantara on the dash No sunroof 19” wheels All this for $48k, I can literally do all that for less and have every being I want
Getting a Pro-tune is so worth it. But you are right throw some mods on it. Honestly if you are a casual fan like me going stage 2 is perfect with an after market intercooler is worth it
That is a nice color STI. I believe that's series Grey? A great video. I will get the Cobb Access Port down the road and maybe the IAG street series Air oil Separator. Stay safe brother.
@@Smeedia Oh okay. I'm catching up on all the old videos. Great information as always for the guys and gals that want to mod the cars. I'm a stock guy. I really appreciate how the car performs the way it is. I'm a retired US NAVY sailor 20 years. My birthday is next Tuesday on the 13th of July. I will be 52 years young. I really get a kick out of all the other cars on the road being terrified of the subie. They see me in this beautiful ocean blue or world rally blue base model beast with a vortex generator and they get terrified. Especially the camaros and chargers and challengers. Mustangs too. It's hilarious. 😅🤣😂
The Cobb Stage 2 off the shelf map made my 2004 STi run like crap. It actually made less power on the dyno than Stage 1. After 6 dyno pulls, my tuner managed to get the car to run smoothly. It made 262 AWHP and 293 AWTQ on 91 California pump gas. Modifications were Titek catted DP, walbro 255 fuel pump, APS 65mm CAI and the tune.
Haha thanks brother as always! These were definitely solid and I appreciate your take on it and not listing the exact same list that everyone else always mentions. Yessahhhh
Also when you do injectors you should look into getting some from fuel injector clinic, i had ID and they were a little small and i saw the price for FIC and im giving them a try, they come in a plastic case and have all the flow match data and everything else included. Customer support seems a lot better as well, sent them an email about a question i had and the owner of the company emailed back like an hour later. Couldnt be happier with the experience with them
i came to youtube today just to put on some live lofi music, and edit some pics in LR... but then this video showed up so i guess today is gonna be another smeedia binge day :D
Smeedia I went to a local car meet and took some awesome photos. McLaren 570(gt?), gtr32, viper, widebody hatchback sti. Editing can be a pain, and my photos never turn out quite like yours though
been subbed to you for months ever since i got my 2020 STI, thanks man for all the useful tips! ordered a cobb sf intake, which i learned just now as it arrived that i cant run it with a better downpipe :(
@@Smeedia dude ive seen so many cases of where ppl did that and their injector duty cycle reached 100% way before the redline, makes me cringe on how lean the car must be running at those higher rpms
@@Killbot5439 and @smeedia would after market injectors be the answer to the 100% duty cycle? Therefore allowing a downpipe and intake to be installed together? Thanks
@@Smeedia seen lots of claims of 30 to 40 hp with a tune. On the contrary, it's just catching on. Do a search on exhaust cutouts, you'll see what I mean.
Great video, as usual. One thing im wondering though is: there's a lot of talk about warranty but what about insurance? I heard some companies won't even insure vehicles modified for more power?
Thank you for the very informative video! I just bought my 18 sti and I had a few questions if you could clear the air :) 1. Am I able to run a turboback exhaust with a stage 1 ots tune? 2. Are you running a catless dp or would you recommend catted, if so which? 3.Should i never upgrade my tmic to a fmic if i have a downpipe on the car? 4. Keeping your sti stage 1+ turboback+ fmic the safest option for your car? I really do appreciate the time you put into the vid ty.
For a turbo back you'll want the stage 2 map 😁 Catted downpipe 100% and either grimmspeed or Cobb 🙏 If you do swap the intercooler you'll want an Etune or a dyno tune. Safest option would be add some fueling mods like injectors, fuel pump and then get a custom tune done 🙏
Hey it’s been awhile, love what you have done with your sti wrap, hood heat extractors, and Subispeed headlights. This list seems like it’s pretty much what I’ve been doing. Here’s my list for my beginners build: 2015 STI 95k miles COBB Accessport MAPerformance Stage 2 93 (OTS) MAPerformance Intake MAPerformance GESI catted down-pipe Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust IAG Street air-oil separator Mishimoto performance radiator Getadomtune coolant mod I had to delay any more mods because I had to fix a transmission leak at the cv axle, which led to replacing the axle, which led to replacing the bushings and then I didn’t realize the top bolt on the strut was a camber bolt... anyways, just need to do the short shift mod then a really good etune. Mostly did my mods for reliability and power.
Great food for thought👌 I'm almost to the 1K mark so I'll be ready to start tinkering with her. Not necessarily any power mods, as I want to get use to the stock FA first, but definitely reliability and driver enhancement mods. Plus some cosmetic stuff which was started in the first couple weeks. Great video as always ✌️
if you go catless you definitely need a protune or an etune. you would probably be fine with a catted downpipe. my best advice stay away from cobb OTS tunes. stage 1 93 tune blew my wrx motor. just got it back the other day fully built stage 2 block now :)
@@Raven420 Stage 1 93 tune blew your wrx motor, was it totally stock? I just got the AP and am totally stock running the OTS 91 map (high altitude so there is no 93) and don't want to blow my motor!
JiBenJiBe yes it blew my motor. it’s kinda hit or miss with them. some people get lucky but i didn’t. ALSO don’t launch the car on a stock clutch with the launch control on the cobb accessport, be very careful with what you decide to do because the dealer wouldn’t cover my motor because it was tuned.
Recently found your videos after buying a series white wrx . Keep it up man ! The content is amazing and it’s been helping a lot learning about these cars. Do you think the shift stop makes a difference paired w the sti short throw , been contemplating whether to get one or not.
I’ve read a lot of the comments below but just to clarify you’re saying the 15+ WRX (not the STI) is better off with both the higher flow intake AND a J pipe in front of a catback exhaust. I’m just setting up my ‘20 WRX and starting to order parts. I’m also doing Trophy Cup coilovers and a rear sway. I was advised to not do the front sway. I’m not building a track car but a twisty car...
It helps free up some easy power, the FA20 responds well to mods up to 400WHP. Those would be my go to first mods for increasing power on an OTS Tune if that's the route your trying to go
Just got a 21 sti my first subaru purchase. Do you have a video explaining the intake vs exhaust thing where you can only do one or the other? And do you have a link to that short shifter ?
This is the short shifter 🔥 www.amazon.com/dp/B071VDKH4S/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_glt_fabc_7C0AVQVXV523SGXV4FPW?linkCode=ml2&tag=tanner0613-20 And you can't use an intake and a downpipe combo with an OTS Tune 🙏
Man, your videos are full of knowledge. Im looking to get a cobb accessport and redline intake for my 21 sti. I was just wondering if i have an injen cat back. Is it going to mess up if i install and tune with the ots they supply?
Just got a 2017 wrx , know nothing about performance and cars , trying to learn , any recommendations on where to get these items? I’m trying to compile a list
Can you tell me which bypass vavle to change upper or the lower one so I can get the stustustu sound and dose it hurt the turbo.. not using a blow off ..
Who’s front air piece do you have and what’s the color of your wrap and did you mod your hood with the vents? I would like to go the same route you have done with those three modifications hope you don’t mind
17 Sti. I was previously pro tuned w/ downpipe, muffler deletes and intake. Looking to get pro tuned again soon newest mod I’ve added is a catback r400 making my DAM drop very slightly around .983 otherwise is running strong. What else should I add to my list... EBCS, AOS, turbo inlet, ditching my bigsf intake for the new redline. Idk what else I’m willing to spend more but not break the bank lol maybe go TMIC/FMIC🤷🏻♂️ bite the bullet on lines, injectors, rails, regulator
Your DAM is most likely dropping for thr intake/Downpipe combo. Even on a protune the car cannot get enough fuel to support both while still operating at normal boost levels. I would highly highly suggest the Injectors, pump, FPR and AOS
I'm thinking of getting the AP and Cobb intake package, these would be the first things for my car besides a dual catch can. Would doing this and just running a stage 1 OTS be safe until I get a downpipe/exhaust and etune?
I have a question I can't seem to get answered, I want to add the down pipe and cobb AP to my 17' STI, but I can't find the ots tune for it, I've already done catback, aos, cooling mod, and short shifter, do I have to find a tuner now ? Lol I really wanted to wait for next year before getting into the big Boi stuff 😅
@@Smeedia okay so I can only tune with it if I use the Cobb CAI. And also would you say it’s particularly hard and do you have to buy the tune off cobbs website.
Yes they can, the older GD models went off of a key cycle count. The newer ones have a memory "black box" if you will that stores that information. SOA got tiered of people tuning cars and trying to claim warranry so they upped their ECU parameters to be able to see
I run an intake and catless dp on stock injectors and fuel pump :) my tuner made it work. 1 year strong. i still need upgraded injectors and fuel pump to make the power im suppose to.
Smeedia my peak boost is sitting at 20psi. I was going to continue with mods to increase power byt then i realised hey, i dont have money if this thang blows 😅 so ill wait a little lol

No mods can legally void a warranty unless said company can prove the mod was the cause of the failure
Yes but all of the popular engine modifications are easily linkable for SOA to a failed engine

Lol the mods outlined it he video below will be perfect for what your looking for, all will enhance longeviry and reliability while maintaining the drive ability of the car 🔥😁

@@Smeedia haha sorry for the long question. Thanks for the reply man. I appreciate you!
Anytime my dude and no worries 😁
Man i got min 3 weeks ago a 2019 wrx and love the freaking car. Took almost whole year to get an approval feom the wife but finally she said go get the car.
Glad to hear that you were able to snag one 🔥😁
For real, I had to wreck my motorcycle twice and her to find out we were expecting to get the okay to get the 19' STI. Absolutely loving it.
What color is your car, i’d love that for a wrap with my white exterior for accents
Gloss rock grey 🙏
I love your channel man, super useful advice of course but just the way you put the videos together and the knowledge and depth is incredible. You're easily my go-to Subaru video guy haha.. thanks for the awesome content, I find myself just watching videos I have no business watching because im not even on that mod yet, but get sucked in regardless hahahaha. Great channel and will forever recommend your videos. Thanks for helping me add onto my 16' the boomba ss is super smooth... all the thumbs up.
Appreciate the support my friend and glaf the hear your enjoying thr boomba! Solid shifter set up 🔥😁
First mods for a brand new Outback
1. Gas
2. 2 week vacation
3. A cooler
4. Open road
5. 35 hr of music thumb drive
6. Sleeping bag
Keep at it!
Congrats on the car and good luck on the dyno! 😁😁
@@Smeedia Fingers crossed. Also have a Cyl 4 cooling mod and Cobb BPV going on as well. Just re-watched your "Path to 340 HP" video to start shopping next steps. Keep doing what you do, sir.
That's the way to go. I would get a different oil pickup tube as well. Defi gauges and RECARO seats if you got extra $$$$.
@@EJ257IHI what’s an oil pickup tune?
my first mods that DID not void my warranty- i literally asked audi for permission before doing
1. intake
2. turbo inlet
3. intercooler
4. kw v3 coilovers
5. bc forged rims on ps4s tires
and 6. for bonus- iroz catch cans( engine and dsg)
This video was super helpful and informative for someone new to getting into tuning
Glad I could share! 🙏🙏
Yassss. First mod on my wrx was the kartboy shifter and bushing. It’s Like a brand new (and better) car now! Next for me will be lowering suspensions and sway bars!
Yasssss, people underestimate the short shifter mod!
Wanted to get the information across in this one. Have had the question asked so many times we were getting to the point in this one 😅
nice job bro ive had 14 stis from my first 2004 java black pearl bought back in 2006 (used) and back then if u saw an STi let alone an STi with a turbo back exhaust and blow off that was like seeing a Unicorn holding hands with polar bear lol. and ive also owned 7 WRX (x3 2002 bugeyes, 1 05 wrx wagon, x2 wrx widebodys and a 15 wrx.) and ive also built over 55 wrx, sti, legacy 2.5 gt, forester xt's and even a few saab 9-2 those were just ej205 motors and trans its basically was a wrx in a saab wagon body. but anyway keep up the good work love the channel.
Thanks so much bro for all your advice, it helps us guys new to modification...
Glad I can help 🥳
20K subscribers! Way to go man!
Yesssss! Thanks my man! Woke up and saw that this morning!!! 😁
thanks mate, glad i found your channel!
Appreciate the support my friend! 😁
Oh yes! They are the building blocks to a great car! Plus once you start on them you just keep going down the rabbit hole 😅
The tr comes with the same engine,
Brembo brakes
Tuned springs
Recaro seats
Some alcantara on the dash
No sunroof
19” wheels
All this for $48k, I can literally do all that for less and have every being I want
Getting a Pro-tune is so worth it. But you are right throw some mods on it. Honestly if you are a casual fan like me going stage 2 is perfect with an after market intercooler is worth it
Oh yes 🔥
That is a nice color STI. I believe that's series Grey? A great video. I will get the Cobb Access Port down the road and maybe the IAG street series Air oil Separator. Stay safe brother.
It's thr bluebaru, just wrapped in Gloss rock grey 😁🔥
I appreciate the information. Debating on a STI and I didn't know I couldn't do intake and exhaust together, I would have for sure.
That's only for the 2015 + STIs 🙏
@@Smeedia yeah, looking at '18+
The Cobb Stage 2 off the shelf map made my 2004 STi run like crap.
Yessahhhh
The lists other people have are okay, but they don't build a foundation for someone to build on 😖
Or explain what the parts going to do and why you actually need it
As usual, your video rocks. Out of the first five mods, I’m proud to announce that I got four of them done with the exception of the short shifter :)
All solid mods to do and a short shifter definitely makes a difftence in Daily driving. But glad you've got most done 🔥😁
Smeedia spent most of my $$$ on the new build and now I’m broke haha
I know the feels 🤣
Dude the car looks killer from the front! Im jelly
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I like seeing these videos from people that inspire me and compare to what I’ve done for the first mods lol
Glad i can help inspire my man 🙏
Also when you do injectors you should look into getting some from fuel injector clinic, i had ID and they were a little small and i saw the price for FIC and im giving them a try, they come in a plastic case and have all the flow match data and everything else included. Customer support seems a lot better as well, sent them an email about a question i had and the owner of the company emailed back like an hour later. Couldnt be happier with the experience with them
Ive used FIC Before theyre defcheaper than IDs and still flow great
i came to youtube today just to put on some live lofi music, and edit some pics in LR... but then this video showed up so i guess today is gonna be another smeedia binge day :D
Eyyyyyy! 🔥😁 what kind of photos you editing? 😁
Smeedia I went to a local car meet and took some awesome photos. McLaren 570(gt?), gtr32, viper, widebody hatchback sti. Editing can be a pain, and my photos never turn out quite like yours though
Just takes practice and we all have our own editing style 🔥😁
is your sti wrapped? what color is that its beautiful!
As a nood who's as nood as a noob can get, this video was big help. Thanks!
I have all of those mods as of today. Just put in my Crawford v3 AOS myself today to finish the list!

Thanks for the great and to the point content bro. Great input and explanations. 👍🏼 subbed.
Eyyyy, appreciate the support!
been subbed to you for months ever since i got my 2020 STI, thanks man for all the useful tips! ordered a cobb sf intake, which i learned just now as it arrived that i cant run it with a better downpipe :(
Always appreciate the support! And unfortunately the 2015+ are very picky with the fuel system when it comes to downpipe and intakes 😭
Thanks
Your videos always seem to answer every question. Right to the point and all the info you need. Love this channel 💪🏼😎💙
Glad that theyre helping and answering questions 😁 appreciate the support 🙏
Great videos, you have one more part to try : boost activated exhaust dump. Preferably at 1 bar. HP gains.. I'll be looking out for it.
Not a bad idea, ive seen a few cars do it before but I don't think its a widely used thing for standard street cars
@@Smeedia seen lots of claims of 30 to 40 hp with a tune. On the contrary, it's just catching on. Do a search on exhaust cutouts, you'll see what I mean.
@@Smeedia by the way I'm a fan keep em coming.
@@Smeedia I did your hood scoop delete and CF hood vents 😎
Great video, as usual. One thing im wondering though is: there's a lot of talk about warranty but what about insurance? I heard some companies won't even insure vehicles modified for more power?
Thank you for the very informative video!
I just bought my 18 sti and I had a few questions if you could clear the air :)
For a turbo back you'll want the stage 2 map 😁
Catted downpipe 100% and either grimmspeed or Cobb 🙏
If you do swap the intercooler you'll want an Etune or a dyno tune.
Here’s my list for my
beginners build: 2015 STI 95k miles
COBB Accessport
MAPerformance Stage 2 93 (OTS)
MAPerformance Intake
MAPerformance GESI catted down-pipe
Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust
IAG Street air-oil separator
Mishimoto performance radiator
Getadomtune coolant mod
I had to delay any more mods because I had to fix a transmission leak at the cv axle, which led to replacing the axle, which led to replacing the bushings and then I didn’t realize the top bolt on the strut was a camber bolt... anyways, just need to do the short shift mod then a really good etune. Mostly did my mods for reliability and power.
Not a bad list that you've got going! And thank you 😁😁😁
Great food for thought👌 I'm almost to the 1K mark so I'll be ready to start tinkering with her. Not necessarily any power mods, as I want to get use to the stock FA first, but definitely reliability and driver enhancement mods. Plus some cosmetic stuff which was started in the first couple weeks.
Great video as always ✌️
Thank you 🙏 and you've got to start somewhere, your almost out of the break in period!
Do you need a pro tune after installing a down pipe and does the cob access port do the justice for a down pipe instal
if you go catless you definitely need a protune or an etune. you would probably be fine with a catted downpipe. my best advice stay away from cobb OTS tunes. stage 1 93 tune blew my wrx motor. just got it back the other day fully built stage 2 block now :)
Exactly what Tyler said 🙏
@@Raven420 Stage 1 93 tune blew your wrx motor, was it totally stock? I just got the AP and am totally stock running the OTS 91 map (high altitude so there is no 93) and don't want to blow my motor!
JiBenJiBe yes it blew my motor. it’s kinda hit or miss with them. some people get lucky but i didn’t. ALSO don’t launch the car on a stock clutch with the launch control on the cobb accessport, be very careful with what you decide to do because the dealer wouldn’t cover my motor because it was tuned.
JiBenJiBe also yes, i was all stock
Commenting before watching so excuse me :) lol. Driver/Owner mod are the number one mod that won’t void your warranty!!

Recently found your videos after buying a series white wrx . Keep it up man ! The content is amazing and it’s been helping a lot learning about these cars. Do you think the shift stop makes a difference paired w the sti short throw , been contemplating whether to get one or not.
Congratulations on the new car! And it will make a difference it really helps to tighten up the gear box 🔥😁
Those would be my go to first mods for increasing power on an OTS Tune if that's the route your trying to go
@@Smeedia thanks! Yes OTS for now. Nearest pro/🦖tune is more than 300 miles away...in the Motor City
You said run one or the other intake or down pipe right? But you said you can increase fuel by getting injectors and a fuel pump.
Correct, if you want intake and downpipe on thr 2015+ STI you'll need to do a fuel pump and injectors.
I've got a 19' STI only mod a bolt-on catback exhaust. Very fun to drive my next mod a IAG AOS.
Yasssss, the AOS will definitely help with the blow by
Dumb question. When I try to but the Perrim AOS it asks " with top or front intercooler?' i dont what to select. I have a stock intercooler
Just got a 21 sti my first subaru purchase. Do you have a video explaining the intake vs exhaust thing where you can only do one or the other? And do you have a link to that short shifter ?
This is the short shifter 🔥 www.amazon.com/dp/B071VDKH4S/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_glt_fabc_7C0AVQVXV523SGXV4FPW?linkCode=ml2&tag=tanner0613-20
And you can't use an intake and a downpipe combo with an OTS Tune 🙏
Gonna be picking up my first sti in 2 days comes with access port thanks for all the information if anyone has any tips let me know!
Man, your videos are full of knowledge. Im looking to get a cobb accessport and redline intake for my 21 sti. I was just wondering if i have an injen cat back. Is it going to mess up if i install and tune with the ots they supply?
Hi
Would you please help me out with link fir the short shifter kits that you are suggesting please
WRX or STI? 🙏
Do you need to tune a 2015 wrx if you want to get a cat delete ? What would be the effects of getting deleting your cats without tuning it
You'll be subject to boost creep which can cause engine damage. I wouldent suggest doing so without a proper tune to go catless
Gotta get that kartboy!!!!! Actually gotta do everything you mentioned lol!!! Awesome my man😎👍🏻👍🏻
Youll notice a night and day difference ny man 🔥😁
Just got a 2017 wrx , know nothing about performance and cars , trying to learn , any recommendations on where to get these items? I’m trying to compile a list
Rally sport direct, subie speed, flat iorn tuning 🔥
Is there any kits to get rid of the clutch delay valve? Like a different master or slave cylinder I can get?
Can you tell me which bypass vavle to change upper or the lower one so I can get the stustustu sound and dose it hurt the turbo.. not using a blow off ..
Nice video my guy! Keep up the great work!
Thank you 🙏😁
Who’s front air piece do you have and what’s the color of your wrap and did you mod your hood with the vents? I would like to go the same route you have done with those three modifications hope you don’t mind
I’m about to buy a new 2021 wrx is it a bad idea to void the warranty? Am I gonna screw my self over or can I have fun and do what I want?
That's a question for you, personally I don't mind voiding potentially warranty claims only because I know whatever breaks I can fix
Thanks for the info brother. The wrap is crayyyyyyy. 🤙🤙🤙
Anytime! And thank you 🙏
What would you need before an intake ?
Can you run turbo back exhaust and intake if you get a pro tune on a 17 sti
Technically yes as long as you have a protune. But imo it's not worth it. You'll run out of fuel injector
Smeedia, do not install both the air intake and the downpipe, applies for the wrx fa20dit too, or only for the sti?
Only for the STI
I'm thinking of getting the AP and Cobb intake package, these would be the first things for my car besides a dual catch can. Would doing this and just running a stage 1 OTS be safe until I get a downpipe/exhaust and etune?
Yes that should be fine 🙏🙏🙏
@@Smeedia Thank you 😄
If we can’t afford the a.o.s kit is a oil catch can ok to use.
Yes just remember to empty them 😁
I have a question I can't seem to get answered, I want to add the down pipe and cobb AP to my 17' STI, but I can't find the ots tune for it, I've already done catback, aos, cooling mod, and short shifter, do I have to find a tuner now ? Lol I really wanted to wait for next year before getting into the big Boi stuff 😅
So that is the first set of mods. What is the second set mods that you recommend bro?
That depends on what you plan on doing with the car, street car, track car etc
@@Smeedia daily driver/street car
@@Smeedia what is your take on the new Fa247 engine
Should be a great motor but expect issues with it for the first 6-18 months 🙏🙏🙏
@@Smeedia like everything that comes new😁
For an intake can you use the access port to tune it at all or do you need to get it professionally tuned.
If your comfortable with tuning you can get the software from Cobb to do your own 🙏 but you can use the Cobb stage 1 map with their intake
@@Smeedia okay so I can only tune with it if I use the Cobb CAI. And also would you say it’s particularly hard and do you have to buy the tune off cobbs website.
Or how do you get the tune
I’m sorry for so many ?s. Just figuring things out
Question that no one has been able to answer me is can the dealership trace and access port map change if the car has had access port uninstalled
Yes they can, the older GD models went off of a key cycle count. The newer ones have a memory "black box" if you will that stores that information. SOA got tiered of people tuning cars and trying to claim warranry so they upped their ECU parameters to be able to see
Smeedia 2017 wrx applies I’m assuming..: better question is can they see when...
I dont know if they can see when, I just know it flags the car
I run an intake and catless dp on stock injectors and fuel pump :) my tuner made it work. 1 year strong. i still need upgraded injectors and fuel pump to make the power im suppose to.
The way tuners have been able to make it work is by reducing boost levels, which is the opposite of why people buy an intake and downpipe 😖
Smeedia my peak boost is sitting at 20psi. I was going to continue with mods to increase power byt then i realised hey, i dont have money if this thang blows 😅 so ill wait a little lol
