Autumn Photos vlogging with an old camcorder got my creativity back

- I was in a bit of a RUclips rut more than a creative rut. Re-thinking why I spend so much time on these silly videos and only a handful of people watch them anyway. It just pissed me off that some kid plays with a toy and his dad edits it in 5 minutes and gets a billion views... LOL.. So I was having a little bit of the RUclips Blues...
What has this all got to do with my Autumn photos and an old camcorder... well I had a little whinge in this video, but by the end of editing it.. I was cured of my RUclips blues... I'm back baby.
I probably do need to just buy a new camera / toy... Oh the irony
I went to Auburn Gardens again and the old camcorder footage really played well into the story line.. I thought I took some of my best photos so far this year.. and I got to say.. (sorry M43) but I think Full Frame is better.. some of those miniature toy effect photos really stood out.
Thanks for watching... I say I'm going to take a break but then comes the weekend and I get the itch to take photos and edit videos.. LOL

Thanks. When I got home and started editing I looked back and realized the whole point is to have fun and be creative. That's why I took up photography in the first place. Speaking of editing.. trying to match 1080 with 720 footage is a nightmare lol 😆
Don't worry about the number of views Roberto, you like it and we like it! Do it for the enjoyment, then everything else will naturally fall into place . That red bridge is certainly eye-catching but I did like the tree and the reflection in the pool. Nicely done.
Yeah. I talked my way out of it in one walk. Lol.. my ego creeping in but it's all fun and games. I was really happy with these shots. Trying flares. Some worked. Subtle flares work better

Wow, what a roller coaster of an ep! Glad to see the uptick towards the end. "I think I'm having too much fun" . . . The perennial agony of the artist. BTW personally I think you do great work. The section on the bamboo graffiti opened up some great possibilities. Gave me goosebumps thinking about it. I'm glad Jerry is keeping you focused (no pun intended). Don't give up Rob! Your stories are much more creative and interesting than some channels that mostly review gear.

From what I've seen from youtube content creators, slow and steady wins the race . Dont stress numbers ever and continue to craft work that makes you happy and fullfield. Your numbers will continue to rise, and even if they dont (which i doubt), you're still making and sharing quality lasting memories. There is a creator i like in the community that had a slight spotlight put on them, and you could tell the next following (many) videos was to increase that spotlight only to fall flat. It became a channel that wasn't creating its roots anymore.
Slow and steady and have fun. The algorithm does the rest, lol.

Yes. Wise words. The whole process from shooting to editing is the real reward. Coming up with fun ideas is the challenge but that's what is great about photography. There is always something to strive for. I should make a 90s mtv music video lol 😆

Have a MiniDV I use for the same reason. Something about shooting with those old camcorders does the trick every time.
Cool. They are great to hold and go all day too. I've got a fhd later version that I might start using more often. They're come back lol 😆
@@robdido I picked up a 4K camcorder after watching some reviews. Have to admit they are a joy to shoot compared to the hybrid cameras; and the zoom range on some of these things are insane lol

@@shutterslaps4938 haha. Don't go too far back your tv might crack. I lost a few pounds since then. But my photo skills got fatter. This RUclips thing really helped me grow as a photographer. Got me out playing every week.
