Usually I'm pretty resilient to the idea of being in my mid-30s, but this made me feel a little old, haha. When people look back fondly on film cameras from even the late '90s, I get it. It's film. But early digital? I'm still thankful for the progress made in digital photography and can't quite bring myself to be nostalgic for the early stuff. At least not yet. My Canon Powershot A540 (which I still have somewhere) was my first non-junk camera. It was an excellent little point and shoot, and served well until I got my first DSLR. It's cool to look back on, but I do NOT miss the low light blur.
I was born in the late 90s, so all the small point-and-shoot cameras really bring back memories from my childhood. There’s some thing about not needing your phone and being able to fit a small camera in your pocket. It’s a different way of life and I kind of prefer it. I think I collect small point-and-shoot because of how different life was back in the day. Each task had its own dedicated thing for it. It’s kind of nice being able to leave my phone at home and have a small device that will capture all the memories. Haha also 30s is not old! Thanks for you comment!
Right with you, well closer to 40 actually 😅 I was just getting into digital photography in the early to mid 00's and there were people (rightly I guess) saying film was still superior for image quality. I can also remember reading that 9 megapixels was supposedly going to be the point where the detail captured could start overtaking film and being shocked at the number 😂
I can't believe you're not a big channel?? Look at the quality of the video??? What I like the most is the way you put the song names. Not only does it help me discover new songs (they are 100% my vibe and I've been searching for such song! It's giving Aquatic Ambience. early 2000s), it actually allow me to go and search for the name and save it instead of asking the youtuber the name of the songs. Thank you!

i had one of these a long long time ago, and i used to do these simple videos just talking at it (i guess they're called vlogs now). what really gets me about these cameras is like... when i'm gone, what if the videos i took with 'em are the only things people have to remember me by? the grainy imperfections, that blinding flash, the smeary kinda look, and that godawful video quality. definitely products of their time, but i think especially with the preponderance of super ultra mega high quality 8K whatever that you can get straight out of your phone nowadays, there's a sort of intentional quality to these cameras that i really miss.
Coupled with the outstanding editing and production value I thought this channel had a hundred thousand subs, Absolutely beautiful night time photos, the vibe gives off a sense of pensiveness
6 days ago I was cycling, and I just remember there was a vintage store, so I decided to go, I enter the store the people was very kind I was just looking around, and I saw cameras I was very curious at first because I had never bought a camera before in my entire life I'm just turn 18, 3 weeks ago , I decide to get a Sony DSC-P7 I love it the quality is so nostalgic, I guess this is a new hobby, I'm glad I just find an amazing hobby, I just discovered a new world, you got a new subscriber I know I'm going to learn to many new things in your channel, keep it up :)
I'm getting a 2008 digicam soon I'm actually a fan of the low video quality cuz I want the videos to look nostalgic plus it will look more natural when I film in my friend's car cuz it's an older BMW

I love foggy conditions so much. Usually in Ontario Canada It gets really foggy here around this time but the weather has been really weird this year.

Old compact cameras are great if they are working well. I had a little Fuji & it was an excellent camera for about 3 or 4 years & then the aperture started sticking & every photo was wildly over exposed. IIRC it was fully automatic so could not set the aperture wide open & let the camera set the shutter speed. So, I just threw it into the trash. If the camera had been a dslr I could have bought a another lens😂

Honestly I agree. I have had 3 of my compact cameras stop working. They sometimes come back to life but super unreliable.
