  • In this video I fix my broken Framing Nail Gun. This nailer is made by Bostitch. F28WW N88WWB. The rebuild kit is N890RK. I've had this pneumatic nail gun for seven years with no issues up to this point. I built my house and garage with it.
    If you have a similar problem, try taking it apart, cleaning it, and re-greasing it before buying the O-Ring Kit. My O-rings still looked OK as I took them out.

    Those O rings simply wear out over time and air escapes past them not allowing the gun to function. You may want to watch this video again and at the beginning you guns just falls apart in your hand and most O rings come off easily. Upon assembly things are much tighter as you struggle a bit to close it up; especially the last part as you install the end cap. Typically the wear items are the middle rings that are constantly being used as the gun operates... Cheers....

    Thanks David. 3 years later trolling for a video to fix my Bostitch all I had to do was look at someone I was already subscribed to.

    Exactly what I needed (I hope). Looking for the kit now. Mine still "works" ... but it is probably batting about .333 (ie: 1 out of 3 times it actually fires the nail). I get slightly better results when I continuously pull the nail rack spring back and let it hit the nails again. I'm open to trying this kit as it is about 9 or 10 years old now ... and hopefully a parts refresh will help.

      That sounds like a mechanical problem and not an o ring problem. Did you get it fixed and if so, what was the issue?

    Mine when it failed just needed to be taken apart cleaned and oiled then put back together.

    My N88WWB misfired and the problem was the 4 allen bolts at the bottom of the cylinder. They loosened up and part of the bottom o-ring blew out of it's kerf. All the o-rings in the top section were still fine.

    Would be helpful to clearly display the part going back in so the viewer does not make the mistake of replacing backwards ...... otherwise nice job .... thanks

    In the first part, when I stop you from working, you see that they are in a cold place and outside. These guns do not work at low temperatures, since the back part is controlled.
    When you tried it you worked it in a garage with the hose a hotter air, I say it from experience I have worked for 4 years with this type of guns greetings. at first it is not necessary to change all the packaging as they do not have much wear, second when this happens and a special oil for low temperatures which makes the oil does not stick in the back, I will happen to spend with guns new but it was for the same the low temperature, I had to go sometimes to the car to warm it a little

      Thanks for your comment. The cold was the first thing I thought too. I've had it fail before due to the cold. Before buying the repair kit I tried warming up the gun, hose, and tank inside my house, overnight, and tried firing again. Still no good. But good suggestion for others reading the comments.

      Good video and good comment. It's around 5C and when I grabbed to use ... no go. After reading this comment I brought it in and now it works. I'm still going to do the rebuild kit, but it's less urgent. Thanks for both the video and cold weather comment

    That short clip at the beginning sounds exactly like my problem. Did you feel air escaping around the trigger? I feel some around mine and already tried 3 new trigger valves all made no difference. I'm thinking it could be some other o-ring..... Thanks

    • @DavidPozEnergy
      @DavidPozEnergy  4 года назад

      I did not feel air around the trigger. But the repair kit was cheap enough that it's worth a try.

      @@DavidPozEnergy Hey David. Took it apart, cleaned everything, new grease like you recommend and it's good as new. Thanks man. Did notice a lot of rancid oil inside. I was doing 3 drops every 2-3 days, light work. Maybe it was the cheap HF oil. Anyways easing up on the oil. Thumbs up!!

    Apparently, a lot of bostich framing nailers do this. I thought mine was freezing up, because it started doing it only when it was below freezing. It gradually got worse where it wouldn't work unless it was 60 or above. Lazy bum.

    Hello there everyone I have a Bostitch N66c siding Nail gun there is no leaking air but once I put air it only works the first time, I notice that only when I press the trigger valve it does have an air leak on the trigger, so I order the kit trigger valve and still didn't work, so I order the whole o ring kit and the same thing not working. I actually don't know what else to look for. any help on this. thank you

    My Bostich Framing nail gun stopped working, the piston doesn't retract. So, I purchased a rebuild kit and rebuilt the nail gun, and still does not retract the piston. What did I do wrong? ?

      Sounds like a particle of o-ring or debris is clogging a port somewhere? R+R your trigger valve/actuator?

    What exactly was your issue? Mine just started not shooting mid job. Acts like it does when the safety ain't set yet, blowing air an not shooting

    • @DavidPozEnergy
      @DavidPozEnergy  4 года назад

      Nothing was a "smoking gun". My best guess is the rubber seals were just worn out and not holding the air pressure any more. Works like a champ now.

    In no way shape or form did you even come close to anything that has to do with fixing a gun or explaining how lol..take the back off and fast forword it till it shoots!..and at the end you didn't even know what the problem was !! Hahahaha wow thanks for the info

      Well. If it wasn't working. Then he puts all new rings in it. And 4 Allen's to seal it back up. Then it works.even w the fast forwarding it's pretty self explanatory even if you have to pause to see what he's really doing. Probably as simple as it gets
