Hi ! Everyday before you use the gun put a few drops of airless quality oil in the gun where the hose would hook up, hold the trigger down and let the oil work it's way towards the head of the nailer say 10 seconds, hook the air hose back up to the gun but before you use it make sure that you open the airtank drain plug and if you have a water separator calling out of the air tank which I recommend, Make sure the water is drained out of that too. I usually turn a compressor on with the drain plug open let it run for a little bit and that'll get any rust and water out of your tank it'll blow it out ,then just shut your valve then let it build pressure and you're good and that oil will help that gun tremendously ! You won't have any miss fires ! Like that old Louisiana Cajun Cook used to say "guaranteed"
    ...lol 😂😊

I had almost an identical problem with my Porter cable. It leaked air and I put a rebuild kid in it but it still leaked and I had a bunch of nails 21° so I went out and I bought a Dewalt instead. It's a 21 degree, and I've been using it for a few days. And it's been perfect and I love it My Porter cable was about 16 years old. And it was great up until when it started leaking. Great video by the way.

Why do I have a feeling you were trying to use 21 degree nails in this gun. You need to use bostisch 28 degree collated nails....

Good explanation of your experience and thoughts! You don't appear to have tried different nails though. I have a 1995 Bostitch N80SB and it won't work correctly with nails that are collated with that glue drizzle. I have to use genuine Bostitch nails that are tacked together with the wire.

You should try to find a rebuild kit for your old nailer.

I pretty much use only rigid tools and am completely satisfied with their products however I’m getting away from air and upgrading everything to cordless

Bostitch makes good roofing nailers, at least the old models were great. I got a coil framing nailer and out of the box, even with the adjustment knob set all the way down, it will not sink the nails consistently. My Metabo A5 coil nailer will damn near send nails through the wood with the exact same air pressure, hose and fitting set-up.

The new portercable suck. Buy a Metabo or old hitachi. You won't regret it. The older portercable were great. I had most of them but replaced them with hitachi as they broke.

They have rebuild kits for all air framing nailers, it only costs 50 bucks for parts. I build picnic tables, benches, and dog houses. My best framing nailers are air nailers by Makita, Dewalt, and Ryobi 18v 21 degrees. I only use 21-degree framing nailers because they are easy to find nails of all types.

I have used a bostich framing gun and it worked great it was the exact same model. On a apartment job i had to nail 2x10 deck cantalevers together with a insane nail spec of 2 nails every 6 inches. I shot over 10,000 nails throught it that day and never jamed once.
Maybe that one is a lemon

I have that Bostitch for several years. I haven't had the jamming problems you're having but it doesn't have the dryfire lockout like your Porter Cable. That I wish it did have. I suspect th quality control has gone out the window since I bought mne

For the money you spent on the new nailers you could have pulled the head off the old gun and replaced the seals. Good as new,, and saved all the aggravation,, been there… and FYI, I got a Pasload when mine went out worked great,, now I have two…

Why is there rust? Maybe clean the firing mechanism? Your old framing nailer and new joist nailer don't show any signs of rust from what I can see. How did you get moisture on the new nailer?

The nail follows the wood grain pattern.. It's not a nailer problem. It's a educational problem on tbe user.

You might be able to get your old Porter Cable rebuilt. Then you would have two guns to use.

Seven minutes too long. All the info could have been revealed in 3 minutes. Used to love RUclips. It's now become so commercialized it's a waste of time. Everyone with their 30sec-1:00 high-dollar flashy intro that then drags shit out past 10 minutes SO THEY GET PAID!

Paslode/Pneutools. Surprisingly, Pneutools is taking over in the framing and cornice work here in Texas. Very simple mechanics like when Hitachi came out with their nail guns. Its like going back to a carburetors 😅 vs fuel injector
