Today, I tell the story of a shiny hunt I did last summer for a shiny Kyurem! It's a long one, so grab a drink and enjoy!
As you may have noticed, I finally got a capture card! Wasn't cheap but definitely worth it so hopefully you guys have noticed a quality increase in both the audio and visuals compared to my Nihilego video lol. The only issue with it is the bottom screen capture is a little janky so what's why you won't see any bottom screen recordings in this video.

Whoever Forced you to make this Got ya an A+ for The Effort dude, But Personally to me If I do any SR for Legendarys anymore My limits 2 consoles. Though I still Remember being Starstruck when I Found My First SR shiny ono one console in saphire: Rayquaza. I Never Looked It up back then to see what It looked like or Even if Shinys Did Exist After Gen 2s Red Gyrados I remember Saving the game on the way to the Pokemon center Like 15 times

The great thing about shiny kyurem is that when you fuse it with the box legandaries, the combo is shiny.
If I didn't know it was impossible, I'd have thought it would be cool if it depended on the one you fused it with. So like, if you fused a Shiny Kyurem with a regular Reshiram/Zekrom, Kyurem itself would have the Shiny colours but the Reshiram/Zekrom parts would be normal, and vice versa.
Now I'm wondering if a White Kyurem would be shiny if Reshiram was the shiny one.
I imagine just for technical ease it would only be 'Shiny' if Kyurem itself was Shiny, and the Reshiram Shiny would be an alternate form with a different coloured aura.
@@catscanhavelittleasalami i am pretty sure it isnt. Its in the same boat as shiny necrozma. The base has to be shiny and it doesnt have to do with the pokemon fused.
When I fused them in the newer generation 8 Sword and Sheild games for the Switch, I didnt matter if Reshiram/Zekrom was shiny or just their normal color, so long as Kyreum individually was shiny, the Black or white fusion would be shiny regardless if Reshiram and Zekrom were not shiny at all.
you've definitely been picked up by the algorithm, and it's good to see smaller pokemon channels get the views they deserve!

No cap when I first played white I didn't know Kyurem existed at the time and just found it by accident by exploring the postgame. I battled it and catched it. 2 Weeks later I found out by seeing the normal yellow form at my friends ds that I had a shiny one and freaked out😂😂 wildest moment in my career playing pokemon

Congratulations! I went on this hunt myself about 5 years ago. There's a really old video of a Japanese RUclipsr catching shiny Kyurem shortly after the game launched in 2010 over there. The uploader got bullied hard by dislikes and nasty comments from people who assumed Kyurem was locked, which I always felt bad about. So I decided to go for it in late summer 2017 and prove to myself it was possible (it's also a sick shiny, as you said).
I wouldn't get it until early summer 2018, not quite a full year. It was a pretty casual hunt; I only used one copy of the game, also Black at full odds. Most of my resets were made while rewatching favorite let's plays, sitting on the toilet, or waiting to fall asleep, as it's pretty tedious work I found it made me drowsy. I dislike counting resets but I'm very confident I was way over odds, easily 20k+ as a conservative estimate after charting the time I spent watching videos while hunting.
Before this I had been pounding SOS chaining in Moon pretty hard, so going for an old, full-odds hunt like this was very jarring after how borderline free SOS can be. Still, for the cool design and all the effort I put into it, it's easily my second favorite shiny!
The whole experience was very memorable and now very nostalgic for me, so thanks for sharing yours and for letting me relive mine!

@@ConnorKrohnicles A female Charizard I "accidentally" soft-reset for in SoulSilver. I was SRing the Oak postgame gift to just get any female Charmander to breed with. I went though about 30 males without even checking them, and when I finally got a girl she was shiny! It's nuts to think that that exact Charmander could have generated shiny but male and I would have reset right over it without ever knowing. My most serendipitous shiny and rarest if you factor in the 1/8 gender.

I thought i knew every shiny pokemon available in this generation. After the countless weeks/months a group of friends and i spent, to make an almost complete shiny living dex. Kyurem was overlooked. Now we gotta do this one as well.
I love how this was more about the journey than just the reaction. Really reminds me of like an AbsolBlogs vid with how wholesome, humorous, and well made it is. Super enjoyable, hope to see more!
Congrats on the shiny Kyurem!! I get that feeling of shock when it comes to the odds being weird, getting my shiny roamer Entei in just 87 esets after leaving the hunt alone for a few months, or with me getting a shiny reshi in only 3 resets (this one was before I started posting about my gaming stuff so no video). It feels crazy when that kinda stuff happens and that's the fun of the hunt.

Kyurem was my first legendary 1/8192 hunt I completed, I share your opinion of its gorgeous-ness! I always thought it was funny that you could battle Ghetsis’s White Kyurem without it being shiny in W2 and then turn around a little bit later and shiny hunt it. Love that thing to death!

Kyurem has a surprisingly good Shiny. It was actually the first Legendary I hunted for myself, specifically in Omega Ruby.

Yeah ORAS is good for it in general. especially since you can get basically everything up till that point between the gen 6 games. I don't see a reason to do it in gen 5 unless you don't want to transfer up.

I did get some major goosebumps watching that intro, I rarely get such a reaction out of games I play or watch. Probably because it felt like the most ambitious pokemon game and happens to be my favorite of the series. Other thing that gives me goosebumps is the part where you summon Reshiram in Black 1.

I was genuinely squealing all throughout this video. Kyurem is not only one of my favourite shinies, but my favourite Pokemon ever. I just found so much to love about it and I honestly never see enough recognition of it despite being legendary with incredible lore, shiny and design. Hearing that someone also loves this pokemon as much as I did made my heart soar, I never hear much praise for kyurem so every compliment thrown by you genuinely made me so happy and I was on the edge of my seat watching the journey to get the shiny. and the video quality is great too, the commentary and editing is top notch and so entertaining that it earned a sub from me, and while I don't normally comment on videos at all I had to express my thoughts this time. congratulations on the phenomenal shiny hunt at full odds as well and I'm so jealous of the set up btw my god. definitely going to tune into more videos and streams from you in the future. thank you for this video and the love towards my beloved ice dragon kyurem

One of the few 1/8192 shiny reactions that fits the hunt. Seriously, I’m so sick of these other RUclipsrs going 25k+ resets for a shiny legendary and then when it happens they’re just like “omg shiny”. Like NO, get some EMOTION in that reaction.

Black and white (part 1) to me was an instant classic. It brought so much new stuff to someone who started on the original 150 pokes and it truly reinvigorated my love for the games. I think the most important part was the story was more compelling than past entries and I had taken a break for a good long while during gen 3 and 4 so this was like coming home and getting more!

my personal theory as to why trainers sometimes have things like level 60 woopers or underleveled dragonites is that the evolution level is based on how good of a trainer _you_ are. This could also explain why Yellow version allows catching level 9 Pidgeottos

Great job on the video. Adjust the microphone settings in voicemeter to add a bit more bass and adjust volume to have it peak out less, then adjust in audacity if needed.

One of my first ever successful shinies that I caught was a full odds kyurem in ORAS. I stood in front of the portal debating if I should shiny hunt but decided against it. Apparently there was no need for debate because I encountered a shiny kyurem on the first attempt
