    The Bluetooth header solved my problem
    I was struggling with my card for over a year and when I switched the power to another header on Mobo it started working.
    A very big thanks to you

    You should mention the Wifi Chipset. It is an Intel 7260 variant: 7260HMW.
    You should mention that you can replace the mPCIe card so you can upgrade to better wifi standards in the future.

    I am always connected via ethernet in my room, but I opted to get one anyway, so if for whatever reason I move my PC somewhere else I won't be stranded...Also I have the ISP provided router which gave me 100Mbps on cable and when I connected to the wifi with this card from point blank range I got 230Mbps! Damn you Sagem!

    what driver should i get for this card? I have tried downloading 7620ac driver from intel, the original win10 driver (That it self-installed when I did a fresh win10 installation) and the driver directly from gigabyte website...yet nothing works. Wifi is just extremely slow and drops after 1-2 min of usage. Any advice?

    your remark was so accurate: a lot of times when you build pc's for people they'll want WiFi for some reason, it's so annoying specially if you're working on a small budget

    Is it a problem to replace the original antenna with different one? Would BT still work?

  • @blankaex
    @blankaex 8 лет назад +1

    Do you know any other PCI-E cards that have both WiFi and BT? The only other decent one I can find is the Intel 7260, so I'm thinking of getting this, but I'm still undecided and looking at other options.

    Im curious as to what the little USB 2.0 Female Port does on the card... I know one of the comments said they attached their wireless mouse/keyboard dongle to it to get their mouse and keyboard to work but Im wondering... what about a Corsair H150i AIO cooler? The RGB function of the cooler is 9 pin USB controlled so technically you could connect a USB cable to the female port and power your RGB AIO cooler with it... One more thing, I currently have this PCIe wireless/bluetooth card connected via an NZXT internal USB hub which turns 1 USB header into 3 as well as 2 standard USB female ports...is it safe plug something into the female USB port on the Gigabyte wireless PCIe card while its being ran through the NZXT internal USB hub?

    You need to connect the usb to motherboard header or outside case to use bluetooth.

    • @MrLucifuge1973

      Actually yes you do...Why do you think that cable is included? Wifi will work fine but to get full Bluetooth 4.0 you need that cable. If your mobo doesn't have a 9 pin usb header then you use the standard USB (female) slot. The newer cards have a mini USB (female) slot but still come with a 9pin cable. You have a work around ..please share so i can cancel my Ebay order for a nine pin cable. I scoured the interweebs for a week and if you can prove me wrong I'd be happier then a two peckered billy goat. Then I can let the other 6,999,423 people who have ordered, waiting for or told me I needed that cable know they are all wrong as well. Thanks

      USB mainly acts like a relay to the USB plug on the board, both BT and Wi-Fi are handled through the PCIe connection.

      Use the black cable that came with the card and plug it into a USB header on the mobo. Should work fine then . The review isnt great . the Wifi and bluetooth are separate on the card . The bluetooth is a simple USB bluetooth "dongle" fitted onto the board , hense you need the USB connectivity.

      If you just want to have Wi-Fi connection, why would you buy a Wi-Fi+Bluetooth card?

    • @Poseidenfan
      @Poseidenfan 8 лет назад +1

      ***** It was the best one I could find that was decently priced. Besides, I have no more USB headers on my MOBO. My Hue+ used the last one, and I fancy having brilliant, and fully customisable colours in my PC than Bluetooth capabilities. Besides, Bluetooth is wireless which results in input lag, which, if you game (like I do), can be disastrous.

    • @XenoVis
      @XenoVis 8 лет назад +2

      +Brad Oxford There are some cheaper PCI-e Wi-Fi only cards. If Wi-Fi is what you want, you might save some money and get one of those instead.

    • @Poseidenfan
      @Poseidenfan 8 лет назад

      ***** I'm not sure you understand what I'm getting at. I had the intention when I purchased this card of using the Bluetooth as well. Also, seeing as this was decently priced, and had exceptional reviews, and specs, I went for it. However, I purchased the Hue+ shortly after, which arrived before the WiFi/Bluetooth card did. After I installed it, I realised that I had just used the last USB header. I made this comment asking if I'd at least get some function out of this card. Then, the more I pondered about it, the less I missed not having the Bluetooth functionality.

      ***** It depends on your preference. If you don't want to open or "Take apart" your computer. Then USB is the best option for you. If you prefer that the Bluetooth device is Inside the computer and you have enough knowledge to place it in yourself, then go for it. USB is definitely easier to implement tho, as you just plug it in and go.

    • @JeremyYooo
      @JeremyYooo 8 лет назад

      +Ethan Maxwell Yeah like Hole InTheSeat said, its preference. if you don't want to open your computer up, the usb is the way to go. If you do want to open it up, your computer should have a slot to plug in the adapter for power.
