BG3 is well primed for expansions, either for post end game or in between. The fact that it’s 3 acts alone screams more to come.

I hope we get to traverse into Avernus, going into the house of hope was my favourite part of the game, having to open a portal to the fuuckin hells, so cool. And I mean Wyll and Karlach's story are massively tied into the area. I sincerely hope they don't switch over to making another Divinity game, I don't see why they would after the commercial success BG3 became but who knows. Either way I'm excited for the future, it's been a long time since a game has got me this pumped.

@@MrBikboi well if they do maybe they will include the very real issues with planar travel. Heat, toxic air, ect ect.

Alas, Larian doesn't really do expansions. BG3 is likely done, with future releases being minor things and anything else will go into a new game

The story is interesting, but knowing how spirits ascend Mt. Celestia and how they earn their way through each layer makes an angel falling to evil as close to impossible as anything gets. Perhaps that system/journey was implemented after (because of?) Zariel's fall?

Except Amsodeus and his original devils were all fallen angels too so clearly it isn't impossible

@@rpgswithwe Asmodeus is why those trials exist. Being lawful there was nothing in the law to banish him for the changes in him. Now souls have to complete specific trials at each layer to progress that ensure such a thing doesn't happen again. Zariel would've undergone those trials.

Fifth edition added nothing. It simplified what came before. The lords of the pits were well established with TSR.
