Bazim-Gorag: The Frog Lord of Fire and Chaos - D&D Lore
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.Месяц назад
D&D Lore has many obscure parts that have interesting stories due to adventures and modules written on them in the past. One such adventure where you as a player can interact with an Elemental Slaad Lord of Chaos and ruin is found in Dragon Magazine 101. This chronicles the tale of Bazim-Gorag, the fire bringer. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #dndlore
Zargon: The Unkillable Elder Evil - D&D Lore
Просмотров 8 тыс.2 месяца назад
The lovecraftian/cosmic horror side D&D Lore has to be the Elder Evils. Unknown beings with unknown origins put into flesh, Zargon is one of the most Iconic Elder Evils in DnD. His story is one of domination, corruption, and a undying will to live. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #dndlore
Ashardalon: The Terrible Dragon with a Demon Heart - D&D Lore
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 месяца назад
I love small isolated D&D lore stories, Ashardalon is a great blend of being integrated into the world of D&D while having his own niche story within a greater context. He has a grand downfall, but never stops swinging as he plummets into the depths of the abyss. Demogorgon #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #dndlore
Kyuss: Rise of the God of Worms - D&D Lore
Просмотров 11 тыс.3 месяца назад
Kyuss' D&D Lore is my favorite type of D&D story. The ultimate tale of ambition failed, Kyuss is just another threat looming in the world of DnD that is the PERFECT candidate for a campaign BBEG. He has many associated creatures in all editions monsters manuals and his effects can be seen across all of DnD. Potential spoilers if you happen to be running Age of Worms! #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #d...

Vecna: From Lich to Godhood - D&D Lore
Просмотров 79 тыс.4 месяца назад
This long awaited DnD Lore on the Arch-Lich Vecna spans the story of Vecnas rise from man to deity. There is a lot of material (most of it conflicting) on the deity Vecna, but his story is a classic tale of a rise to power despite the odds. One thing to note on this video for all of those lore guys in the comments are I did not get into the possible origins of his Lich powers, including topics ...

Semi-new to DnD lore, and was intrigued by "Tasha the Witch Queen." I think I'm just more confused now tbh, but I mean, I guess that's the fey for you. lol
Interesting tale.
You have sources concerning Ygorl? may one know them? or is this your own creation?
Sorry to be a bother, but I'd like to know your sources so I can consult them too, I know about 4e Open Grave, but you tell more than is in there, and I'd like to do m own R&D on Kyuss.... I foresee and epic and horrid campaign
Gygax' drow already had the silent tongue, why do you mention it as if it were a 3rd ed innovation?
I hope you read and answer my comment. First let me tell you that ambition seems completely out of place for Jergal. But what if it is not ambition that drives him but the feeling or justice that all things have or should have an end. So his plan is not so much to usurper power from Ao, as much as simply kill him, or make him mortal, to end him, or to bring Ao closer to his end. As all things should have an end. Even gods. Even the God of all. This reminds me of the of the "thermal death of the universe". Perhaps Jergal, is simply maximum entropy manifest.
Man vecna really needs to stop making swords.
what does lord of blades and his warforged think about Primus
The youtube stories about this story is better than the actual book
That was so interesting of a listen a very cool villian concept as well just imagine following a trail of Slaad to find a melancholy eldritch horror riding a very uninterested dragon saying “how did you even find us we made this as hard as mortally possible.”
The Orcus - Primus connection is how I excuse all corruption of law beyond the normal means of evil lawyerdom.
But why can it fly ?
God I love Vecna. I wanna make him my ultimate BBEG in my campaign complete with custom, borderline broken OP statblock 🤣💀
16:09 that's my art! Thank you for featuring it in your video! Graz'zt is such a fun and cunning character
Love your art! Great work on it
The next Baldur’s Gate game (if they were to ever decide to make another one) needs Kyuss as its villain!
Nice video. May I request a video on the General of Gehenna? He's one of the two leaders of the Yugoloth race, along with Anthraxus in the Grey Waste, and easily the Lower Planar Ruler/Archfiend I know the least about
Bought this module way back when. S1 it was numbered I believe. Might still have it lying around somewhere. 🤔
Hi there. You should credit the artists in your video, please. The artwork is beautiful.
Fun fact: in Baldur's Gate 3 there's a scamming genie in the circus who needs to be fooled to obtain one of the best weapons and rings in the game. If you play his wheel of fortune game normally, he gives you joke items as prizes, one of which is called "The other hand of Vecna".
Which I received, and it has not left my inventory since then 🤣 It was so funny to me
I recently found your channel, and I gotta say that you have an excellent presentation. Great art selection, overall emphasis on character over specific stories and intelligent conjecture that can excite interest in a player. Keep it up man, keep improving where you can- I don’t see a world where your channel doesn’t grow so long as DND exists.
I like the snark in this one😂
Huh... Do y'all play The Elder Scrolls? Is this the original inspiration for the Ebony Warrior?
First I've heard anyone call Corellion, the great changer, a little &$#@*. I approve.
does Kyuss command his undead worm legions from spire telling them how to break him out of the stone then he will become the emperor worm
what if he become a worm and emperor worm like duke leto the second and can see into the future
"Hold my chains" -the Shadar Kai reading the video title
Hi, where does the lore come from? Dragon magazine mostly? Thanks
A lot from that Dragon Mag I mentioned, but he has blocks in 1E, 2E, 4E, and 5E. There was also a really good write up in 2e on all slaad lords, I’ll find that source tomorrow and follow up
As long as we’re on a stretch of Big Bads: Woolly Rupert?
I am on a stretch of villains, they’re just much more interesting generally in dnd. I have never heard of Wooly Rupert, looks like he’s in spelljammer? I’m not all too familiar with it but looks really promising
@@The_NaturalOnes He's a sapient hamster the size of a T Rex, bred by space gnomes, whose favorite snack is gnomes. I think he can breathe fire, too.
Did someone say FROG LORD?!
I'd love a follow-up on Vecna. I'm running a greatly expanded Eve of Ruin, and the more lore on him I have the more I can build him up once the party learns of his existence (Starting with Shattered Obelisk, they just hit Level 5)
I like to think Vecna would honestly be proud of Acererak's betrayal, that lil cambion doing his old man proud
I got theories and obscure lore to fill in some of the blanks. Vecna needed his soul on him, hence why he was truly destroyed when he and Kas fought However, as he was part way through a ritual to sacrifice his empire and become a god, the magic latched onto the only two targets it could, his severed hand and eye Invested with terrible power, warlord Halmadar would eventually don the Hand and Eye, and I like to think the corruption he suffered thereafter earned him the moniker 'The Cruel' Vecna was able to come back through manipulation on Halmadar
"Do I really look like a toad with a plan?"
Is he greater than shar
Shar is goddess, and he is more like demon lord, I believe
Tough to power scale slaad lords, definitely on par with some of FR deities. Though I would imagine Ygorl is NOT as strong as Shar, she is one of the more powerful greater deities
Acheron is pronunced AKERON.
Thank you!
@@The_NaturalOnes You're welcome my friend. Nice video😊
Entropy doesn’t exist
Neither do Frog Lords born on the plane of limbo who ride undead bronze dragons, unfortunately
@@The_NaturalOnes that’s actually very fortunate thing to know that those frog lords don’t exist!
We’re an educational channel, let me know if you have any other questions
@@The_NaturalOnes not really I’m good.
Graz’zt possesses one of the most epic weapons in D&D as well, a Demon Lord / ArchDevil / Love Child of an Otherworldy Cosmic Entity one-handing a wavy greatsword dripping with acid makes quite an impression
Nice choice!! Can you PLEASE do a breakdown of Ahriman? Everyone treats Asmodeus as if he were THE big bad when in reality it is one of TEN simultaneuos simulacrums of Ahriman’s avatar is all! 🤯
Great suggestion, definitely on my list
I'd love a vid on them. The Ur-Ouroboros lore in D&D is a minor obsession of mine. Everything always comes back to those two snakes Ahriman and Jazirian. In particular, the Forgotten Realms interpretation that might explain why the Lady of Pain is violently opposed to worship. When the Sarrukh worshiped them as the god of conquest and tyranny, while their servants worshiped them as a god of liberty and mercy, it literally split Ahriman and Jazirian in two. And that's not even getting into the hoards of avatars and divine descendants from their original Ouroboros form like Azgorath and Dendar. Its snakes all the way down XD Where are we on Ahriman and Jazirian's original name being Mok'Slyk from the Greyhawk lore about the serpent of magic Vecna claimed whispered the secrets of the multiverse too him?
you should be put into maze for pronouncing like that.
Pronouncing what
what about elminster
Okay, i mean no insult but this is driving me nuts. Apprentices has one n in it, not too. You keep saying "apprentinces".
I am waiting for someone to do a video 9n Vhostym (The Sorjouner). In novels it is said he is nearly 10000 years old and is godlike in power.
I’ve never heard of him, just looked it up, definitely a good topic for a vid
One of the first Obyriths to cross over intact? Or here before?
Tribe Dagon actually from the far realms after all he is like Cthulhu actually from h.p. lovecraft
Halaster Blackcloak will always be a bad copy of Zagyg, devoid of a sense of humor and magic power
I have some more ideas for future videos you could do. Sertrous demon lord of crawling things Geryon former ruler of stygia Atropus the first atropal Renbuu lord of colors Nothic mutated mages Ogremoch elemental lord of earth Thanatos immortal of entropy Baba yaga mother of witches Draegloth drow/demon hybrid Lord of feathers Shadows Babau Rakshasa Gargoyles The worm of minauros Pit fiends Leucrotta Peryton Nightmares Dragon turtles Dracoliches Gorgons Black dragons Ettercap Displacer beast Phase spider Troglodytes Merrow Ixitxachitl Cockatrice Behir Intellect devourer Gibbering mouther Chuul Abeleth death tyrant Redcap Bodak Raxivort Cranium rats Hook horrors Chitines Elder brain Morkoth Green dragons Akar kessell Hydras Phaethon Maw demon Crenshinibon the crystal shard Dretch Meelook Infernals Grick Fomorian Tchazzar Klauth old snarl Iymrith the doom of the desert Old gnawbones Ebondeath Inferno of the star mountains Sapphire dragons Icingdeath Topaz dragons Hellfire engine Carrion crawler Banderhobb Crawling claw
In volo’s guide to monsters it’s said that kyuss is or was a high priest of orcus the demon lord of the undead which actually explains a couple of things.
