    Not bad at all. My 2004 CTT barely gets 13 mpg with cruise control set at 70 mph. Smiles per mile is what counts!

      Really!? I think I averaged 14mpg in my ownership which was mainly town driving, but so worth it regardless like you said!

    I’ve subscribed until such time as you keep the Cayenne turbo 😅. I’ve been interested for a long time in buying one just like this with beige interior. Has yours had the coolant pipes updated to aluminium ones ? There has to be a lot of bargaining when buying so one needs to inform themselves well. And deep pockets are needed to keep it maintained right. But it gives a lot of bang for buck imo.

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  2 года назад

      Ah sorry about that, but thank you so much for subscribing! I do love the beige interior. I am not sure if the coolant pipes have been done unfortunately. Thank goodness for deprecation though, like you said it’s a hell of a lot of car for the money : )

      @@NathanMannin When you do the coolant pipes, please show as much as possible about it. If you could get a smart buddy in your garage who can do it with you while you video it would be amazing. I'd love to see the process.

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  2 года назад +2

      It’s not amazing but I did drive it like a looney 😉 I can achieve nearly 30mpg when I’m being well behaved! I think prices have definitely peaked for now, I can imagine once the new C63 is out, the price may increase a little but not too much I think. I never intended to keep mine for more than a few months, but 2 and a half years later it’s still here 🤣 In addition to that I could probably sell it for £4K more than I bought it for, even with the additional 12k miles I’ve put on it!

    I've watched several Cayenne driving videos and find that the noise in this video is significantly higher that in other videos. For a near luxury car it is too noisy. At times I have to rewind to hear what you have said.

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  7 месяцев назад

      It’s not the cars fault, it was the equipment I was using which wasn’t great for audio and capturing my voice. In my newer videos, I use a microphone which is much better for sound quality.

      @@NathanMannin It is so kind of you to respond to my whining. That's whingeing in British speak. I am studying up on the Cayennes as I am about to run my daily driver into the ground and need a replacement. A few years ago I purchased a very low mileage 986 S as a toy and have loved it. I plan on doing the same with a Cayenne. It surprised me to see a video showing such a fine car to be so noisy inside especially since it has never been mentioned before. But thanks for the explanation. I'll keep up my research until by GMC Jimmy Diff craps out on me then find the right Cayenne. Oh, I'm subscribing. Thanks for the info and bothering to respond.

    For typical british driving and roads, yes it will indeed be extremely terrible. On a straight road with constant speed it will be slightly less terrible, but still very bad compared to what most people roll around in. But compared to other cars of the same interior space and terrain ability, even those that are quite a bit lower power, its not bad at all.

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  2 года назад

      I agree! I was genuinely surprised with the fuel economy I got in this video, I was expecting it to be much worse. Excellent car!

    • @GoldenCroc
      @GoldenCroc 2 года назад +2

      @@NathanMannin the Eu rating of this car in *pure extra urban driving* and pretty constant speed is 23.7 mpg. Thats about the upper limit of what is possible. The number you got seem bang on with the kind of driving you did.
      I own a 957 that is little bit less thirsty with its DI engine, though there are other drawbacks of Direct injection of course...
      These quite heavy cars with their overbuilt four wheel drive system, low range transfer box etc will never be fuel misers, not even the diesel one. Physics is a cruel mistress. Cheers.

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  2 года назад

      @@GoldenCroc Yeah I think I was satisfied with my mpg considering how heavy it is.
      So which engine variant do you have, and what are the drawbacks with direct injection?
      I ought to try out their off road capabilities, really. However, with it haven’t 22” wheels, I think that’s just asking for a damage!

    • @GoldenCroc
      @GoldenCroc 2 года назад +1

      @@NathanMannin I got the later 4.8 turbo that found its place in other Porsche cars as well, for example the Panamera. Most common drawback of direct injection is terrible carbon build up in intake tract, since its got no petrol rushing over it to clean it off, and the 4.8 isnt any different than other early DI engines.
      Off roading is fine if you can find a place with no sharp rocks, those are the ones that canscratch up the wheels. Anything else will be fine, and you can even enjoy feeling like the big offroad boys a bit since you got the ability to air up/down your own tires with the onboard compressor.

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  2 года назад

      @@GoldenCroc Yes! I was pleasantly surprised about the onboard compressor, it’s just my 22 inch wheels which really let me down. They’re too big and fragile to take off road, I really regret not going for one with 19/20 inch wheels.
