    I have owned my 06 955 turbo for almost 16 years. I have been over every inch of the car and read more than most about features, diy's, etc on it. After seeing the 12v plugs, under the glove box in your video, I paused, went out to the car, and poked my head under. Proceeded to yell out loud to myself "No FING way!!!!" 😂😂😂 Great post dudes. I still cant believe didnt know that those were there!

    Split tailgate is definitely a great and undervalued feature in today's truck's. They used to be common in the 90's. It's very convenient and I love this feature!

    • @NathanMannin

      The dual sun visor is an extremely undervalued feature too. My 1999 GMC Jimmy has that and one of the reasons I've kept it for so long is that feature. Really blocks the sun from all angles.

    Excellent video. I'm researching 955s as a replacement for my daily. I accidentally bought a very low mileage Boxster S. It is my weekend girlfriend and I love it. So when I get rid of my daily, it will be a very low mileage 955 turbo. I've watched a lot of videos but have not seen another where ANY of this stuff was mentioned. Thanks a bunch.

    I just recently purchased an 04 non turbo but none the less the 4.8L V8 alone has some impressive get up and go. But i must say the Germans have added some really neat and very handy features now if only the big three over here would take notice and do the same instead of just making things subpar.

    Directional headlights is an often missed/unknown feature along with locking diffs front and rear

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  2 месяца назад +1

      I did notice the directional headlights when driving at night! However, it never crossed my mind until you mentioned it, but having that technology back in 2003 is crazy! Unfortunately I never took it off road and I don’t have knowledge about the diffs locking front and rear, is that a significant option in a 4x4?

    • @shaunchappell784
      @shaunchappell784 2 месяца назад

      @@NathanMannin yes and no for the diffs really. Basically the Cayenne and it's VW cousin were originally way over engineered and designed to be massively capable off road in it first iterations. However as VW and Porsche learned the market they removed these useful/essential off-road features for the sake of cheaper manufacturing.
      Originally these would have been just as if not more capable than a range rover, but that engineering was slowly removed

      I'm researching to get a 955 turbo. But my Boxster will still be my "funnest" car, no doubt. 955s are really a secret Porsche hack. People think of them as just old Cayennes without realizing that Porsche overbuilt them and added lots of features as they developed the market that were all removed on newer models as soccer Moms didn't care about that stuff. But I do.

    Good video. it was watching your video after buying the car that made me decide to buy the 955 turbo S over the 957 turbo. I wasn't sure about the front end, but I do think it is beautiful for being so ugly.

    • @NathanMannin
      @NathanMannin  Год назад +1

      Cheers! I’m glad I could help in some way! I too think the 957 is an overall better looking car, it’s just the weird looks and the timeless design that I love more on the 955 over the 957 : )

    • @joeshaw1265
      @joeshaw1265 Год назад

      @Nathan Mannin It did help. If the interior was upgraded in the 957, especially the entertainment system, I would have probably gone that way. Well, I don't regret getting the 955 Turbo S instead of the 957. I think because it was never pretty, it won't age as badly. I have just removed the rear silencer, and it now sounds like an old Mustang. I found it to quiet under normal use for a 500+bhp car. Thanks

      The headlights have a cool feature when you turn the steering wheel an extra light comes on to help you see in the road on the direction you are turning.
      The tool under the arm rest also works for removing the top piece of the center console in case of emergency park release needed.
      The air suspension lowers the vehicle making it easier for you to load stuff in the rear compartment.
      The rear view mirrors can be folded by turning the knob.
