  • In this video, I share 6 weird quirks and features that the Porsche Cayenne has. Some are not so obvious, in fact it took me putting almost 40,000 miles on my 2010 Cayenne GTS over the course of the past 2 years to even learn about 4 out of the 6 features on my list. So what are they? Let's watch the video to find out!

If you select Sport and ALSO disable PSM, the car gets even more aggressive. This car is so well balanced that the stability and traction helpers are redundant, it has an amazing chassis setup (with air suspension that is)

The Cayennes have two sun visors.
The GTS & the Turbo have a aux air line under the passenger seat where you can connect a hose and inflate the tires.
The GTS is a limited model unlike the regular S and the engine is a little bit different from the standard 4.8 different pistons and different block quality & materials this is why you see cylinder scoring less than in the regular 4.8.
The GTS is couple cm lower ride height than all of the Cayennes at standard height.
The Cayenne GTS is an amazing machine and if you are a mechanic and you worked on one of these you'll know exactly why I'm saying this.
Porsche is Porsche for a reason. Their cars are amazing.

  • @Stubahn

I'd like seeing X-rays of your spine after 40K more miles driving the Cayenne in that position. I'd like to see you reading the Cayenne manual cover to cover. You inadvertently discovered that you had headlight washers? This is just some sick twisted joke; right? More?
Passenger under-seat stowage was originally designed and fitted as the fire extinguisher compartment in the Gen 1 version - it was standard in the Turbo and as an option in the S model - pull out the rubber extinguisher insert and viola! storage compartment as standard equipment. If you were to keep your GTS for another four years or so, you'd probably discover the dual DC accessory sockets located in the passenger left side foot-well below the heater core, in addition to the two DC sockets in the hatch area. Other DeMuro type quirks to obsess on - Open the glove box (where the manual you just started browsing resides) and look on the outer frame for a small dial and snowflake icon - turn the dial to the snowflake, turn on the AC, toss a six of Coronas in the glove during a heatwave, arrive in the desert and pop open an icy cold one. Push a tiny button under the left side of your rear-view mirror, and a small green light will illuminate - this is your anti-glare/anti-dazzle feature that will automatically filter out surface reflections and dim headlights that appear in your rear-view. Above the rear-view, you'll find a folded small plastic visor between your sun visors - that folds out to block sunlight that may otherwise impede your rear-view vision. On your main center dash panel there's an "ECON" button - push it and it'll dis-engage the drive-belt tension created by the AC motor's pulley shaft bearing - result? Less wear on the AC unit when not in use, better fuel ECONomy, improved engine power-band and throttle response. Open windows, sunroof, push "Lock" icon on your remote once, then promptly push and continue depressing the "Lock" icon - windows, etc., will automatically close after the locks activate. When the Cayenne is locked and securely closed - Guess what happens if you repeat the steps; this time using the "Unlock" icon?

    • @TexasRealEstate

I appreciate you watching! And no, I'm not joking lol... I haven't read the owners manual back to back and have no desire to do so, although I have referenced it at times for things unrelated to this video. I appreciate you sharing those insights! Was familiar with most. I didn't know about the fire extinguisher in earlier versions, nor the function of the ECON button. Thanks for sharing!

I think that is the most uncomfortable driving position I’ve ever seen!
For remote lowering or raising windows press & hold unlock to lower and lock to raise, you don’t need to put the key in. This is common to a huge array of cars, not just Porsche.

Funny you say that, from my perspective it's the most comfortable out of any car I've ever driven and that's the driving position I like best. In terms of the remote lowering / raising windows that works with BMW's but definitely didn't on my Cayenne.

Beg to differ with Tyler's reply. The bag located above the rear seat center arm rest and storage compartment
is a Ski Bag. It's accessible only with the rear seat in the upright position. From the opened hatch behind the center
of the back seat, that square shaped panel will open and expose a long 240cm length folded bag. With the rear seat
middle arm rest folded down, you can load up to four pair of alpine skis or two snow boards from the hatch. It's a
great feature. My 7 series BMW has the same setup. It eliminates the need for a ski rack or having to take them off
at night if staying up in the mountains. Hint: clean snow and any crap off the boards before putting them in the bag
to avoid cleaning up excessive pools of water and sludge once you're home.
