! DO NOT BUY CARLY ! First of all, this is NOT a one-time purchase, it is a yearly subscription. Secondly, as soon as you pay them any fees (or you get charged by them) and try to ask for a refund - they will decline and just steal your money. Even if you purchase and file a cancellation request within hours (in my case literally less than 24 hours) after the purchase, they will disregard your request and tell you it's non-refundable. Furthermore, you can find multiple complaints online of people who followed their cancellation process and send the scanners back to them. In return, instead of getting a refund, they got an email from Carly saying "you paid for the digital license, we sent the scanner as a 'gift' to you so it is not refundable", ultimately resulting in them keeping the money and the people being left even without scanners. It is very useful to have a scanner and save yourself money and time but there are far better alternatives to Carly out there. Bottom line - Joel is good lad and this is just sponsorship, I don't believe he has actually had any proper real-world experience with Carly as a business.
A specific brand and model of tyres also make a huge difference with the same size. Like a cheap tyre vs a Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Awesome handling but also cushioned over bumps. I recommend for people daily drivers. Keeps you on the road + you can trust your car will stop. The people who switched over can't stop talking about the difference. So a good point
Missed opportunity to do a collab with Alex (and Taylor), but it was awesome of him to reach out. That's a collab I'd love to see in future and I'm sure everyone else would agree!
They look familiar 👀 The 18’s are unequivocally the best choice for a cayenne on springs. They look classier and improve the ride quality at the cost of dynamic edge. The gorgeous 20’ Sport Techno’s are the way forward when air suspension is present though!
Why would you diminish the benefits of the air suspension by putting giant wheels on? I just don't understand. It's still a wardrobe on wheels, youre not getting sporty experience with it..
@@rostislavandrlik9704I have a turbo with sport technos for summer, and some super light bbs 19s for winter. It's a bit like a boat when on 19s compared to 20s. But it's bloody nice when it's snowing. You can also take some air out of the wheels when you need it, and refill with the o board compressor.
This is what I talk about all the time. We have gotten so used to running SUV’s on obnoxiously big wheels these days, when the only best option is to have as much rubber as possible (meaning as little alloy as possible).
I'm about 80% done with a Eurowise Overland update on my 2012 Audi Q7 Tdi. Lifted 3 inches, on 18" wheels and 33" tires. These Diesels, get about 22-24 mpg. Not sure they let you make those kinds of upgrades in the UK, but it sure makes it look mean, if perhaps Americanized ?
I think you'd find that the improvement in ride quality is more thanks to the softer side walls of the 18 inch tyres rather than their smaller size. There actually isn't much difference in the profile height between the 2 because in fact, the 20s are 40% of the width of the tyre i.e. of 275 and the 18s are 55% of 255. The 20s being Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, are much stiffer hence you lost the steering sharpness when you swapped them out.
It looks ugly tho! 😅 No, not ugly, but, perhaps… older? Plus, less sporty. Despite, agreed! Completely transforms the ride, Jo! But it’s much more about tyres… the sidewall on both are practically identical. I don’t really like gangster wheels, but I do believe that in this generation of Cayenne, those bigger wheels were quite a “match”.
I had a 955 circa 8 years ago which had 22's on it but also came with the original 19's. When I put the 19's on it drove sooo much better. Just like you have experienced.
Old Land Rover tip Re the throttle. Press the outside of your right foot against the side panel of the footwell. Use the friction between your shoe and the side to help control the pedal movement.
I've got 18s on my 957 they are not pretty but will not change as they make the rude quality so much better. Get michelin latitude tyres they are phenomenal
A nice set of wheels 🛞 I bought the same set for myn lol 😂 as I prefer the 18” look 👀 rather than the gangster 20” look, I’m going for more of a off road look on myn.
I agree, the smaller wheels do suit it better, fits with the 4x4ness. If those tyres are getting on in age, you'll probably find a nice fresh set give an even more compliant ride.
I have 19", and the ride is rubbish, but thinking I still have work to do on the air suspension, I have fewer choices of tyres when using 19". In summer, I'll get 18-inch ones and some new wheels thinking of dirty gold to contrast the deep green. Or maybe black!
Got the same model but opted to take the 18s off it and put on 285/35/22 Rides a bit bumpier but handles much sportier and looks bloody awesome p.s. The roads are much better here
Noooo dude, come on, get yourself a decent jack and change the wheels yourself. Talk about simple job. Also gives you a sense of achievement doing work on your own car as you know with the volvo
I wouldn't trust Kwikfit to change their own pants, let alone touch my car. You really need to look into getting a unit to do things yourself like other RUclipsrs. When you rented that space for the XC90 it was great watching you learn.
i just watched yt channel redriven and the mechanic there says according to his research/experience the vr6 engine you have is the best engine of pre 2015 cayennes. the 3L diesel is a nightmare, also in audi, vw, skoda...
Could you have fitted tyres onto the 20inch wheels with a higher sidewall? Low profile tyres are not suitable for English roads. Hit a pothole wrong and they burst. You might find a bit more pressure helps the responsiveness.
Hey Joel, we watch all of your videos from Australia. Good content! What happened to the Jag? Did you sell it? I don't like the Cayenne - has to be a real Porsche, the ones with two doors :)

For me the 20s look better on the car, but the 18s seem more practical. I wonder if you put fit tyres on those 18s, like 255/60/r18 for instance to fill up those wheel arches?

Nice wheel and tyre change Joel. Personally I would have changed them myself. I have a sloping driveway but it’s easy enough to do.
