You could just buy the kinhank 2tb external hdd (now sold on Aliexpress) and boot it on your PC/laptop. Or pickup a refurbed gaming PC and plug it in that.
Got my pro 256gb edition today for someone like myself who is not great with tech aspect of adding roms as with the raspberry pie I feel this console is great all the games I was looking forward to playing work great and the first thing I thrashed was Wolfenstein 3D advanced it ran flawless after I changed the aspect ration.

I got one of these a while back because a friend recommended it and I love it. It definitely has its flaws and it does annoy me how some games have no background music which kind of ruins the experience a lot of the time, and some games definitely have an annoying stuttering sound, but for the price and how many games you get that work well, it's definitely worth it. Just don't change the resolution. I did that for some reason and I had a green screen that took FOREVER to fix.

Try to use an android tv box with chip equivalent x905 and more RAM. The Super Console X and X-Pro use a moded image created by Galisteo with minimal changes, but exist others with the same good suport.
Yep. even boxes like the x96 mini do exact the same as the super console x for just 25 bucks.. you just need a emuelec image on a micro sd card. And a Gamepad.

Excellent review ! I received my super console X pro a couple of days ago, and I have a question : is there background music on the menus ? Because there is none on mine, and according to the theme applied, there is also no sound when moving selection in the game list, although the option is selected in the audio menu of the console. So just wondering if there is an issue with my model or if normal to not have a music at all ? I have music during the boot screen, that's it. Thanks in advance !!
It’s def a good start for sure I like the fact this came out. We need more pre loaded systems. Me putting my DreamCast GDEMU was a lot for me lol than adding the atomis wave games to em. I bought a pre loaded SD Card stick for it.
Here in the USA, some retail big box stores carry portable laptop coolers for $25.00 us...Usually in the form of a cheap upraised laptop table with one or more banks of fans on the bottom.
FYI this is an android box which boots off of an SD card. For a far better model, search amazon for s905x3 and buy a 4gig ram model, and then load emuelec on it. This is all the person did. You will need to add your own roms this way though

You can just connect it via USB and go to Controller Configuration. Make sure to configure your arcade stick there and choose the mayflash for player 1
Pi4 haves more power in general so can play a lot of high end stuff better. Not to forget that PI you can get really nice looking cases with good ventilation.

So, I've watched many of WG&Cs videos...but...is there actually a good all-round TV-based emulator console and controllers? All seem to have some fatal flaw or other. The RG350M seems to do the trick for portable, but what about if it's for TV with two equal controllers? EDIT: Ahhh there is the Top 10 of 2020 video. So, I guess despite the problems, the one shown here would be number one now...

We can say DC, PSP, Saturn, Game Cube ... these cheap boxes are not the way to go to. Now with the tech / price we pay get a mini pc to get some high end stuff running 👍 Edit - When done with the video's I have in shedule would love to test more AMD / Intel Mini PC's 😬

@@Evans.32 Error can occur when you put roms in wrong format and particular emulator cannot run them. It happened to me often e.g. with roms for MAME, Naomi, Atomiswave and some other systems. Till this Day I cannot make Daphne games to work. But I have to underline, that I build a console by my own using old TV box and EmuELEC, not bought this Chinese stuff.
I bought one of these. The gaming is great, but the TV side sucks. I tried to watch RUclips and Netflix, and attempted to go online. The apps all quit on me about a minute in and I can't sign in to anything. Just an fyi.
Ik he said that some n64 and dreamcsst games won't run fully but if you lower the resilousion and post processing effects and most n64 games will work like a dream!
I was thinking the same thing. I wish he would tell us if there are PCB traces for the second ram chip. Because if there is, it would be possible to solder our own chip on there to give it 2GB of ram, which according to Wicked and Eta would greatly improve the performance of this thing. But based on what I have seen so far Wicked isn't big on responding to comments...
@Wicked Gamer & Collector , could you please tell me how to enable scanlines on the console x pro, for example on mame and neo geo or final burn games? I just bought the console x pro to get a feel for the themes and modding stuff myself (backup is made of course) but in meantime i want to play my games using scanlines as it gives the best arcade feeling.

This is like $10 more than the standard version? The on/off button is worth that, and probably the only difference most of us will ever notice from the standard edition.

Yeah you definitely can you can even add a keyboard and mouse and there is a video on RUclips going through it and showing how it’s done.

Can be 2 things.
1. There is not soundtrack file
2. Background music has been set to off.

I purchased this item last month, the M.A.M.E played fine at first then it stopped playing - everything else is fine except for that 👹.

Up to ps1 it's not a problem that 1gb ram.
Dreamcast and above that needs more CPU power so forget about that getting a stable 60fps 😅

@@WickedGamerCollector Thanks! I was trying to convert an android box to a retro gaming console but for some reason my laptop couldn't etch EmuELEC into my SD card, I was so disappointed that I ended up giving the android box away! I really think I need a new laptop!
Get an Nvidia Shield. It will emulate those systems very well. If you get the Pro edition, you'll be able to play some GameCube games.

i got my console x last week ,its not to bad a console but not the greatest, one question i do have if you can answer it is, can i use the sd card in another tv box with a newer s905x3 chip instead
You can use it sometimes when you change the boot file for the certain platform / android type mainboard.

Sometimes it happens when the wrong emulator is chosen for the game. You have to change it in game options

You mean if you put other games by your self it can happen the blue screen sometimes?
@@Evans.32 Error can occur when you put roms in wrong format and particular emulator cannot run them. It happened to me often e.g. with roms for MAME, Naomi, Atomiswave and some other systems. Till this Day I cannot make Daphne games to work. But I have to underline, that I build a console by my own using old TV box and EmuELEC, not bought this Chinese stuff.

I bought one of these. The gaming is great, but the TV side sucks. I tried to watch RUclips and Netflix, and attempted to go online. The apps all quit on me about a minute in and I can't sign in to anything. Just an fyi.

Ik he said that some n64 and dreamcsst games won't run fully but if you lower the resilousion and post processing effects and most n64 games will work like a dream!

I was thinking the same thing. I wish he would tell us if there are PCB traces for the second ram chip. Because if there is, it would be possible to solder our own chip on there to give it 2GB of ram, which according to Wicked and Eta would greatly improve the performance of this thing. But based on what I have seen so far Wicked isn't big on responding to comments...
man, just buy and android tv box for 30us that uses the 905x3 which is a better chip than this, and have 4gb ram, and you can add emulec to it

I just bought the console x pro to get a feel for the themes and modding stuff myself (backup is made of course) but in meantime i want to play my games using scanlines as it gives the best arcade feeling.

This is like $10 more than the standard version? The on/off button is worth that, and probably the only difference most of us will ever notice from the standard edition.
It can play most N64 games very well but you have to use custom settings. I have 393 N64 games installed and so far, 100% of them play very good.

A new box will need a different dtb file which is compatible, then simply drag and drop then boot up

Via USB wire yes, you simply configure the buttons and make sure you put whatever make of controller as port 1
