Thanks for this great video. I avoided having to do all this by cloning the Super Console card as soon as I got it using Backupper. It took about 2 and a half hours but I thought it best to just copy the card over to a branded one to avoid having to go through all this in the future!

Got 4.2 working on Super Console X Stick, thanks! I had to copy all the bios files over in addition to the games. Also changed the N64 emulator resolution down (4:3) for games to run smoothly. Now can finally play Dr. Mario 64

4.3 has been pretty stable for me - what I've found and what I'm trying to pinpoint is this - when I just have PSX roms - works as expected with Duckstation - soon as I drag in 19028301829308123 roms from my previous backup - things start to get wonky and psx games stop loading - so I'm going through the process of just putting the game systems I know I'll play a lot (nes, snes, psx, genesis, sega cd) and see if it still works - then add more to see where the hiccups begin

These boxes with 1gb ram should really just stick with emuelec 3.9. anything over 4 becomes unstable. At the rate emuelec updates, making a video for each new version doesn't make sense, especially for a product not officially supported

If Balena Etcher fails to flash you will have to reboot the app in admin mode and it should work fine. My sd that came with super console x pro got corrupted so I'm doing a rebuild on a larger card. Hope this works. Def saving copies to my pc and I can play on that also.
EDIT: I read some comments of the partition (EErom) being hidden so I'll try that when I get home.

I didn't get a separate drive when I flashed and booted it up. Everything else worked as showed in the video.
Mine didn't partition correctly. I'm stuck at the step where you move the roms over to EERom (K drive) because mine didn't create an additional partition. Any help would be appreciated.
You may need to re flash the drive. This has happened to me one time.

Hi, can you help me? I went ahead and reset the scripts and binary of the Emulelec and now every games doesn't load anymore, just get a loading screen then a black screen. How do I reset or config it back to normal so the game load again? Thank you.

Unsure. Some fixes will have been implemented within emuelec itself.
Hi, I managed to successfully install the 4.0 EmuElec on this console but I lost in RetroArch in game menu. Regardless of the settings in RetroArch the buttons do not work. I can only exit a given game by pressing SELECT+START two time. It would be fine but this way I miss the savegame feature. Anyway I can get this to work?
I recently got the original SCX, and while it works on a monitor via HDMI, it doesn't boot up on my Toshiba TV on either of its HDMI ports. Also every now and again I get a short black screen out of no where, only a second or 2 each time. Any idea how I can fix these 2 issues? I tried a google but couldn't find anything useful.
By the way your videos have helped me a lot with my SCX and Anbernic handheld, thanks a lot for that.

You might be able to fix your issue by changing the screen resolution down to 720p, then trying on your tv. I think a few TVs may not be able to display full 1080p HD.

Hello, I installed 4.0 on a new sd card for super console x pro and followed the instructions. Everything worked fine until I added the roms. Now when it gets to the home screen I can move 3 times then the controller stops working. Not sure what's going on the controller worked fine on the menus until I added the roms. any suggestions before i junk it? Thanks!

I think jaguar lands in the same pit as the saturn. Difficult to emulate. Can always give it a go.

I have a problem. The Super Console X won't boot up fully. It gets to green screen. I turned off display video on Boot which was the developers video intro. The music plays. EmuElec won't load up. How can I reset force to Default settings. I don't have a PC.

If you encounter the problem of zooming in the display screen, please don't worry, you can just follow the steps below. ①Unplug the SD card, open the console and enter the Android system→②Find MY APPS→③Find Droid Setting→④Display→⑤Screen Resolution→⑥Display Mode (choose to enter, adjust to 1080P)→⑦Insert the SD card and turn on the console to enter the game system

Hi all i have a powkiddy y6 game stick. I backed up everything to my mac. Wanted to add games and now no games are showing on emulec menu. I only formatted the roms partition as it had no space to add games. Other partition is emulec with the software files. Now when I load the y6 no games are showing on emulec at all. I dont know how to find the scan game list section on emulec if thats the way to do it? Please help! 🙏🏿

Recommendation is to start from scratch. Install a new version of batocera and then add the games you want. The pre-installed game drives are OKAY. - But need tweaking. Corrupted rom files, badly set up mame roms... etc.
if I took the contents of the super console x2 SD card and transfered it to the redmagic 8 pro would it just run the emulator on its own and I'll be able to play the games without any tweaking? Like would it keep the same interface and what not as well?

I use a ps4 controller. The ps button.
I was able to follow along the video successfully until 7:35 . Typing in \\emuelec in my file explorer does not pull any results. Whatever you are looking at after that search appears to be quite different from the drives on my microsd card from the instructions. Am I missing something?
The box needs to be connected successfully to the network via wifi or lan cable. The PC you're using needs to also be on the same network.
You may have a firewall up, maybe that's an issue?

Hi. I updated my console x max. Every Thing is fine.. but i cant sort the games in the System folder oder favorite folder. They looked randomly ..and i would like sort by alphabet. I dont find it in the menu.. and the menu by pressing select did not open any more. ..can i change a setting or Config data ? Wich and what have i change for this? Can some one help? I thought i can change the order by changing the "sortname" but nothing happens... plx help

Thanks for the video. I got everything set up but when I launch a room I get a red screen says --libretro argument "/tmp/cores/snes9x_libreteo.so" is neither a file or directory. Ignoring....
Frontend is built for dynamic libretro cores, but path is not set. Cannot continue.
Any help? I had to plug in a USB keyboard to navigate retroarch. I am able to navigate now but not sure what to do next.
Things like issues reading cards/ errors- are usually due to bad / fake microSD cards. Did you run it through a fake checker?

@@christopherstocking5161 You could try switching the emulator. Hit Select > Advanced system settings > choose another emulator- see if another option runs any better. .. One sec.. "/tmp/cores/snes9x_libreteo.so" - shouldn't that be libretro.so? Perhaps you can try updating to a BETA version of emuelec *in the updates menu* - I think it may be an emuelec bug

I was able to update beta but still same red screen problem. Also noticing some errors on boot about retroarch. Is there a way to just reinstall retroarch and cores while keeping emuelec 4? It took awhile to get this far with the size of the roms hoping I don't have to start over..
I've tried multiple systems, multiple emulators and same error.
@@christopherstocking5161 no, 4 is on a different 64 bit architecture. If you can get the cores built for it, you could install manually but still be stung with the high memory usage.
Have you tried with a different snes emulator selected?

I am just getting "error could not mount LABEL=STORAGE" upon boot. At least I made progress but it would seem I'm stuck here. Maybe a bad flash?
edit: Yup! Reflashing it without those pesky "windows needs to fix this drive" messages appearing let this work!
Could be. Try again on another microsd or even try running the microsd through the fake tester

If it freezes on boot that'll mean you have used the incorrect dtb file. We've made a more detailed emuelec install video which should get you through. Search "emuelec install guide" to find it

So I’m really hoping I can get some help because this is driving me nuts. So I have an android box type system with Retro arch and emuelec. For some reason my sn30pro was not connecting, I got it to connect but the button mapping in retro arch were off completely. So I tried changing it I the settings and messed up the new mapping and now since the mapping is all jacked up I can’t even get back to try to reset it to default with the controller. In the emuelec everything works fine. But once I get into retro arch or a game the controller don’t work any suggestions would help.
Use a usb keyboard. That'll give you control in retroarch. From there set up inputs and save configuration.

If you're no good with tech, I'd advise to not faff around and stick with what came from stock.

I’m gonna try transferring all the files to a new sd-card. But do you know how I can create (or split?) 2 ”harddrives” (or whatever it’s called) on the card. Like in this video where there is ”Emuelec” on ”i:” and ”data” on ”o:”
They are created on the first boot of emuelec 4.0
Great guide, have used it both for 4.1 and now for 4.0. only issue I see is it seems like the chicken pack breaks bezels. Let me explain.
When I did 4.1 and noticed the bezels would not work no matter what I did, I back tracked and tried 4.0 since that's what this guide is for. After the part of adding the ROMs back on I went ahead and tested the bezels and they were working (they were the kinhanks but they were working). So I added the chicken pack, after that I rebooted the console and the bezels are no longer working. I'm going to try removing them completely and redownload them to see if that fixes it. My hopes are not high as this is similar to what happened on 4.1. any help would be appreciated
It's probably just a setting for retroarch that needs flipping. I'll have a look when I have the time, but I assume you need to have overlays enabled in retroarch options, and a specific one set.
@@TeamPandory thanks for the hint! Went into retroarch, had to turn overlays on, set opacity, and in EMUELEC set RA bezels to "on" (had it set to auto and it didn't work, also tried turning overlays in RA off after finding out I needed use RA bezels on and not auto and that didn't work, it really needs both set to on by the looks of it). Hope this helps any one else with issues with the bezels after following this guide. Btw I had already deleted the kinhanks bezels and downloaded the normal ones prior to finding this out, so if this info didn't work for someone you might need to do that also (I did it all though EMUELEC settings)

ah, you use hotkey and (north) to get to the retroarch menu. Then from there main > video > and its in the on screen notifications

There are pros and cons. For most users it won't be worth it, unless you play amiga. From emuelec 4, 1gb is not enough memory and will result in a fairly unstable system.

@@TeamPandory ok so ive done everything right until putting roms into eeroms folder. For some reason it doesnt show up in explorer. When i look through a partition reader it shows its there but wont let me assign a letter drive for it. Its a 200 gb sd card , the eeroms folder is the other 178 gb i cant access. It only lets me access the emuelec and storage partition. Pls help if you got any insight. Ty
@@Mr.XxpliciTTV try right clicking on my computer then manage. Find that eeroms and right click, see if you can give it a letter there.

I did this and still same prompt popps up. Ive tried everything and still cant access that partition.
Ok so I tried to update the firmware but when I try to get into android mode it won't boot up even with the SD card removed.
Turning off the device, removing the sd card... Doesn't boot Android? That is pretty odd... Is your box broken?
@@TeamPandory I think it probably is at this point. I'm going to see if I can get it repaired.
So an update. I had to use another micro SD card because the one that came with the system got corrupted. So I did the steps again and it works. Also had to use my older 1080p tv to access the android mode because it hates my 4k tv.
All in all, everything works again.

Which version of emuelec did you try to install? Sometimes it fails on creating the partitions- you can try to reflash to fix this. There may also be a chance you're using a version of emuelec where they TOTALLY took out support for the 905x chip (emuelec 4.4?)

At the beginning it says that the partitioning is ok, and I also see them with a program for work with the disks, but not with windows, so I can't add the games. I try to flash several times..

do you know how to retrieve a missing game file, I had be playing " N 64 Master Quest for about 6 to 8 hours a day for over a week, & i would save once every hour while playing & always save before shutting it off, I was 10 & 1/2 chapters of of 12 complete on the walkthrough internet site, when i unplug the original controller that had a button that was sticking & causing a control problem, & plugged in a new controller, when i then went to click on the game file i was saving so i could pick up where i left off, like i had everyday for over a week, it was gone like someone erased it, & i was wondering when ? & if you knew how to retrieve lost game files on Super Console X Pro ? i have had it for about 7 months, & have completed 8 out of 10 Legend of Zelda Games so far.
Sounds like you may have switched the save slot? Check into the retroarch menu (hot key and triangle), see if changing the save slot to 0 or 1 will allow you to load from it. You can always try using FTP on your computer/ network to get into the roms folder, and see if you can find the .srm or .state file (or whatever it is) and copy it to your computer to back up
I see your link to a 905 X3 console. How much better would that be?
Check the review we made on the retrostation or the hk1 box. They're both 905x3 machines

I bought a Super Console X Pro 128GB and I can't backup the roms. When I plug the card into my PC, I have to use a Linux File Browser for Windows to see the Data partition, but it does not show the ROMs, they're just not there. How do I access them to back them up? Any help or suggestions you could give me would be greatly appreciated!
Use the network. Check the video we made on "adding games to emuelec" where we show three ways to do this.

Hi Emu chicken. Recently bought a super console x pro but I won't boot probably due to my old tv monitor being only 720p60hz. Tried to changed the config but ended up with a file system corruption message. If I upgrade to v4 using your guide, will it fix this? Am I right about the resolution?
1. Backup your microsd before you do anything.
2. Try first without the microsd in. Load it up. See if you can select that monitor setting in android.
Turn off, try again with the microsd in.
If this doesn't work, try changing the resolution remotely by logging into your console x via ftp ( username root pass emuelec ). There should be a file in config that you can. . . You know what. I should make a guide lol

I have tried changing the resolution from the android side, only resolution option is 720-480p. but it still won't boot. Will try the ftp though.

It seems like this video is already out of date. I don't see that "aarch64-4.0" zip file on the web link. My sister bought this a year or two ago. I'm not sure which one of these is going to be compatible.

@@TeamPandory I only get to the initial emuemlec page when I turn on the device. I don't think I'll be able to access these new programs on the sd card when I turn on the device.
I'm updating to 4.1. What does SCX EmuChicken Fix Pack do? Is it necessary? Is it safe to use on 4.1?
It may not even be necessary. We released that for 4,0 to address 1. scummvm 2. system folders 3. speed up system settings due to the console x only having 1gb memory. You're in unchartered territory- give it a try, but the main thing is- you're still limited by the Console X's 1GB memory re: emuelec 4+
Im stuck in developer mode and cant run my games through the front end. I have to keep going back to RetroArch to start a game. Any way i can revert it back
You can set options to default in the options, but if it's all messed up, I'd just reinstall emuelec with a fresh version

Maybe... I'm pretty sure you could replace one file but you'd need ftp access from a computer. Can you do this?
You probably only have to reconfigure the control with emuelec. Make sure select is set as the hot key.

i tried to download the update emulec 4.1 using the console pro directly from the settings but it says "not enough space" xD so i think i have to do it manually right? as your guide
Yup. Emuelec 4.1 is from the top.
Just remember that the console x has very limited memory and is better suited for 3.9.

@@uraz88 depends what games you play. But crashing and slowdown will occur when you hit 100% memory usage.

I did everything as in the tutorial and the sd card wont show any game but the space is not free as the games are in but not showing

@@uraz88 If you can, move over to the EmuELEC install guide we created a few weeks back- There is also a guide to help you install games to EmuELEC on our channel. Basically you need to move away from the idea of *Super Console X* and towards "The Super Console X runs EmuELEC, now to make the most of it"
Hello, I just recently bought the Super Console X-Pro. I reached the point with the device tree, but there is no such name file, that you are saying. And now I cannot play, because there is no dtb.img correct in the card. What do I do?
Sounds like you need an earlier, or alternative version of emuelec. Later versions (maybe around 4.2?) remove support for the lower end of 905 chipset. If you're using a standard 905X, you'll probably be better off using emuelec 3.9 anyways, due to the low memory.
@@TeamPandory Yes I have the standard 905X I installed even Emuelec 3.7 and had the same experience, when it comes to device tree. I will try the 3.9 to see if it works. I'm so frustrated. I cannot play my favourite games anymore pfff :(
@@TeamPandory There is no gxl_p212_1g_g9sx.dtb file, in all these versions. From 3.7 - 4.0. Have you ever faced anything similar?

@@TeamPandory 4,0 - 3,7 and now 4.7 which apparently seems to work so far, it's taking a lot of time, when I plugged it in the console, but it's the only version so far, working.
Please please please help me/ when i plug in usb wireless to connect my controller, the system dectect the usb and pop up a message that the controller is paired but the controller doesnt work at all!!! so i can't go to the next step where i can setup the controller buttons. i'm blocked in the main page which shows list of games. For whatever reason, every time I try to read my micro SD card in my laptop it never shows any files and shows only 8MB of memory on the card even though it's 256GB. I've only been able to add roms via connecting to EMUELEC through accessing the network on my laptop. I can never add or remove files by putting the memory card in my computer because none of the files show up on my computer when I do.
That's because you have a LINUX partition on your microsd with all the games on. You can access them via network, or linux machine. Later versions of EmuELEC format the partition to be useable in Windows, but otherwise we need to use - ruclips.net/video/m33sCMju4jM/видео.html

Could I do this with a new 256GB card? As mine is 128gb with the console and I don’t have any space to add my own Roms. And when I delete some Roms, it doesn’t remove much space.
256GB should work fine. For deleting, you need to focus on those that use most space- PlayStation, Dreamcast, PSP- check those first.

Hello, I updated and made a backup of the roms, but forgot to make a backup of the SD card I noticed that in 4.0 nothing works a lot of bug and screen on the frieze ... how to go back to 3.9 or maybe I forgot something the Superconsole pack I don't know where to put it could you help me I surely missed a step and I my card is completely erased following the backup I only have my roms and more software
If you lost or simply didn't make a backup, you can install 3.9 by following our emuelec installation guide video *EEMC201*

great video, its not creating the partitions properly, i mean in disk manager i see them but I cant see them in windows? or they just pop up as f: and no accessible and insists i format them before i can access, if i do this emulec doesnt boot and fails to mount storage, so a little stuck... if anyone knows why would appreciate the help, if I figure it out I will let you all know.
You need to let it write the image, and then let emuelec create the partitions on the first boot. It is a Linux machine so Windows will never be able to have proper access to your whole microsd
figured it out or more like dumb luck, I deleted all the partions and formated the card so there was no partitions, followed your video and it worked? prob just lucky :) thanks for the video.

I followed your guid but after i shutdown and remove the SD card and plug it into my pc the EEROMS files does not display in the file explorer? 🤷🏻♂️
Copy over roms via network cable or use Linux to do so.
is the eeroms shows in the emulator but not in the file explorer do i need to use linux ?

Hello, does anyone know how to add sega saturn roms on and get it to work? I added the rom files (bin and cue fikes) but the game doesn't load up but instead goes to the sega Saturn disc player. Anyone please and thank you.
