I picked this up for my daughter and son in law. The first thing I did was back up the sd to a 256 SanDisk. Great review as well as informative. A little instructional on backing up the sd card for this particular console would be very helpful for those folks who don't understand the process and who might need something visibly comprehensive with a simple step by step sequence. Thank you!
@Tom Snoodle Yes, you need a computer with Win32, or a relative tool, to create and write the image as well as DiscGenius to resize the larger card if you decide to add more items.

I ordered a pacman plug n play and got this and had no idea what it was.I contacted the seller and he said it was a mix up but i could keep it.I had to look it up to see what it was.

Just received mine yesterday from Amazon can't wait to hook it up and fix the settings and play all these great classic games.
Was going to try and use a recent vintage Rpi for MAME/console emulation in an arcade cabinet, but this device appears to be the plug and go winner.
By the time you hassle with buying a case and PSU and assembling and installing software for an Rpi, this is the one to beat

I got this for a great price, the Super Console Pro x with the 256gb sd card, it's got over 50 thousand games on and tons of emulators, the controllers aren't the best but they do the job, I just feel spoilt for choice looking through the endless list of games, got this for the Amiga. it's got about 5000 of those between the Amiga 500 and 1200.
Cracking little console for plug and play really so well happy.

The main difference between the 64gb and 256gb versions is that there are 5 emulators missing in the smaller package.
Amiga, Amiga 1200, Arcade, Pokémon Mini, x68000.
The game lists for the remaining common systems are almost all the same.
I haven't checked through them all, but PS1, PSP, DC, N64, Genesis all have identical game lists.

Someone needs to make a library of VIntage TV Bezels for classic 4x3 gaming, ie bezels for vintage 70s, 80s, 90s TVs of common makes and models and the known "best" TVs of those years.
Sidebar graphics that show the speaker/channel/knobs of those sets, etc
Ironically, this is what the Ouya wanted to be.

Problem was, if the Ouya could do these emulations and ROMs packed in, they would run afoul of copyright and other IP issues
So, these emulation boxes will probably always have to be somewhat "underground" from offbeat sources like this.
Or resort to DIY with mini Wintel PC's or Rpi's
@@geraldford6409 Emulation isn't illegal and they can't be sued for packing in an emulator (as long as it doesn't contain any proprietary BIOS or ROMs.) You could install emulator in the Ouya no problem, the thing is that mobile CPUs were much less powerful than what this thing is packing so it couldn't run even PS1 properly.
The Ouya was a good idea that was a few years too early to the market. Nvidia proved just two years later that it was possible to release a console running Android.
Why is that ironic?

Love the channel. Love the way you breakdown the info. After watching your video, I’m looking to get a Super Console x pro, and wondering, with all the arcade games, and you use a 6 button arcade stick, or even use the Pandora’s Box 18s (arcade machine) as a controller?
I'm specifically getting this just for the MAME and arcade games because it does contain games that have never been released on other emulator such as Pandora Box, Retrocade, etc. Primal Rage Version 2.3, Flying Shark, WWF Wrestlemania the Arcade Game, Dolphin Blue, Ruble Fish, F-1 Exhaust Note. The only one I haven't seen yet is Batman Forever: The Arcade, but hopefully I can find it in the download section.
Fantastic review, really helped having the Venn diagrams. I'd love more reviews of these home emulator systems, maybe something that can handle PS2?
None of these things can handle PS2. If you want PS2 emulation you need a PC (or a flagship Snapdragon smartphone).

@@RetroGameCorps I should add that I bought it on Amazon Sweden (where I live) so that’s why it’s twice as much as what you paid...everything in Sweden is super expensive, and it was thru Amazon. But like you said, it arrived in just 3 days so it was worth it.

Hey man I'm thinking about getting one.. just wondering how many ps1 and n64 games it has.. also does it have some of those funny knock off games like a lot of these systems have? I played a samurai mario game on one and it was super fun.

just subbed ,don't know why I am so late doing so because I have watched many vids.Anway I just ordered this box a couple days ago because of your breakdown & review of the game hub box. I mainly wanted it for the retro games all in one place🙏😉,I can download games,apps and music through this console. The price(at least for me) was 90.71 with tax and I get it in 5-7 days.I watched another RUclipsrs game list and my jaw dropped open at how many games that are on this gem of a system!! These are well known big titles and it's well worth the money...if you bought them all separate and physical copies it would be thousands of dollars.Lol,I wasted so much money on retro handheld knockoffs,very poor games and laggy garbage on them but kept telling myself "well at least there's the big 5 named games "..Mario,Zelda,Contra, Sonic and Metroid"..beyond that is poopers,titly tattles..etc garbage games. This monster here is going to be the beast of retro for me!! I bought it off AliExpress too. I think the controllers are ok 👌 but am going to try a USB controller instead of wireless to try and cut down some of the lagging. It might also be worth noting that quite a few of the games error out and don’t load. Also some of the computer 💻 games for the Sinclair and Commodore require a keyboard ⌨️ to play them.
What games on what system didn't work? The Atari ST and intellivision games aren't playable either. You need a keyboard and that unique controller for intellivision.

This is a very good video. Was in the sideline of whether to get this or one of those X96 boxes. Is the X96 more powerful? The Super Console X seem to be simply run out of the box which is nice.

So some maybe dumb questions;
Do I need to connect it to the router via ethernet or can I do it wirelessly via wifi?
You mentioned 1g ram is low would I have much trouble saving my progress in let’s say 5-10 games simultaneously?

I'm a guy who grew up with all the early systems and loved them. My PS4 recently took a shit and I don't think I wanna upgrade to the PS5. I'm so sick of the gaming culture anymore. It's not abt the games. It's abt how much they can hold back for next year and still make a bunch of money this year. And micro transactions are a whole different thing. It's just gross. It's all abt the money.
I just wanna go back and be able to play some of the games from my childhood. TMNT all the metal gears max payne sonic Mario Bros all the old Maddens and NBA lives the old WWF games.

I think I might have over hastily bought a Super Console x Pro with 256gb SD card (which seems to be non-returnable)...when I see now that their x max might be a better bet. If I get the cheapest deal I can find, x max...(was already planning to get a more reliable SD card any way)...should I be able to add the extra roms from the SD card with the x-pro to a new 256 card flashed with the x max image/emuelec stuff?

Unfortunately it doesn’t have Bluetooth, but you can use the 8BitDo wireless adapter (linked in the video description) to connect a Bluetooth controller via that adapter.

First off, excellent review! Now before I continue I want to say I am very computer illiterate, which is partially why I got this for emulation, since most things I’ve seen require some advanced knowledge of programming or things like that, to really know what you’re doing. Now, as I run my device here, I am often getting this Blue error screen. Basically not allowing me to play the selected game. I’ve tried the games in question multiple times, with the same results. Have you experienced this, and if you have, do you know now to fix it? Some games in particular this has happened on are Paperboy for the Arcade. And Pigskin 621 A.D. also on Arcade. I know there were others for Sega Genesis, 64, and Dreamcast, but I don’t remember those off the top of my head.

Hey, thanks for the review. I bought it for my son right after watching your review. However, I got it today and I experience a big input delay/lag. The games we tried run smoothly (nes/snes/ps1/gba) but there is always an input lag over the entire system (about 300ms) even in the EmuELEC menu where you can choose the system and games you want to play. So it's not related to a particular emulator or game. I have the ps2-like controllers. Do you know how I can get rid of the input lag? It's pretty much unplayable with such a big lag.
Don't know if you are still having this problem, but I'm inclined to think the lag is coming from your TV. Most TV's have a game mode that reduces the input lag. I'd give that a try. Of not, try it on a different TV and see if the lag is different.
Get a different controller. It's the build quality of the ps2 like ones
I got the Sn30 pro+ controller, and the 8bitdo wireless receiver (grey edition), but when I go to configure my controller in the superconsole x pro, it doesnt recognize the analog sticks. Idk what i'm doing wrong and it is very frustrating.
You mentioned better solutions for a plug n play retro tv box...What would those be?

Here today to ask your help if you can... many of us are facing a strange problem with the Super Console X Pro : every time we try to do a save state the system shows an hourglass with 0% that keeps going and going... endlessly. And when we try to exit the game it freezes the system !!

I mean still has only 1 gig of ram and the processor is at best only slightly better than non pro on paper

Hey could you upload the content of that 4 GB card? I bought a Super Console X Pro, but mine didn't come with that secondary SD card at all. I'm interested to see those video tutorials especially.
It is only EmuELEC software to download free and some games in rom format + some config to do. You can do it on almost any Amlogic chip tv box...
You mentioned the the pro does not have bluetooth. From other videos I've seen it seems the previous model does have it. Can anyone confirm this? Seems a little strange and kind of a big oversight for the "pro" version.
Does it have Saturn and how is the emulation? Is it compatible with any USB controller. And are there any games that originally used track ball. I was looking at an arcade Cabinet with similar setup but it was $1600. But the track ball and light gun support was cool
I got the console x pro because of this video and out of the box everything played great especially Nintendo 64 but I was playing Mario 64 and try to have it play a little smoother I think I got some of the settings messed up. is there anyway you can tell me the original settings so I can change it back? I have this device, only few N64 games run just fine but you often have to change emulators. Controls are sometimes unsupported in certain cores making them unplayable and sometimes there are boot failures, crashes and glitching. I recommend getting an original system with the Super 64 or emulate the roms on a PC. For the later systems you don't get the best emulators and the device just isn't powerful enough.

I just had a thought: If this runs android 7 then it'll technically run the android version of Another Metroid 2 Remake. Nice. Its super tempting to buy one of these right now but I think I'll wait to see if there's a version that releases that comes with 2GB of RAM.

I’m new to all these retro emulators. I bought the handheld ANBERNIC RG351V. Will the SD card of games from that work on the Super Console X Pro as well? Would I be able to swap it back and forth between the devices in order to play handheld or play on the tv?

Kind of a dumb question, but can you place a fan in front of the console to keep it from overheating? I have my receiver under neath my bar with all the media platforms connected to it and wondering if running a small fan would keep it from overheating

Something happened for my Super Console X. My friend was going to get image of 256GB memory card and write it to new 256gb Kingston card. When I got my card back and boot up device I get error that memory card was corrupted. After 120 seconds it did fix card. Now when device boot up everything is very big and won’t fit to screen. I can’t get menus because those won’t fit screen. Is there something I can do to fix problem? :(
Could anyone help me with an issue, I have the dreamcast roms all up and running fine, and most are ok, but several (mainly racing games) dont let me steer, the analogue stick and d pad are definitely working. But it isnt inputting what the game seems to want.
My assumption is I need to change something in emuelec settings?
