Have you ever had a dream where you didnt want to wake up from it so you try and go back to sleep and return to that one dream . Somtimes you felt it was so real and maybe it was .

@Rockmaster2112 I'm no expert, but from what I understand when our brain enters into a coma state, some really strange and unusual things can begin to happen. Some people claim they received prophetic visions of major future world events, others claim they were able to enter into heaven, others say they saw their entire life flash before them like a movie. I believe that story you read on reddit and thank you for taking the time to share it with us.

Absolutely!!! I cried like a child.
It was about a special person. He dedicated a song, very special song. Some words of the song matched exactly what a special someone told me. I also dreamed that while playing that song he gifted me the most beautiful baby pink dress. I did all i could to go back to sleep . Never went back. But eveytime I think about him he calls♡ sadly its only a fantasy .

When I had the first vaccine jab I suffered from the side effects badly and my brain was all over the show but at one point my late father was talking to me and told me I was doing well looking after my 3 boys and needed to teach them how to look after their little sister.14 months later she was born, that had always freaked me out but when we discovered we were having our 4th I knew straight away it was a girl,I think our lives are a loop but you can’t remember from the previous loop but this is why we’ve all had experiences of dejavu cause we’ve briefly remembered something from before…
Recently I felt a friend of mine came to me in my sleep to remind me I’d forgotten about her after she died from meningitis when we were at school,I’ve since got in touch with her surviving family and finally been to her grave to lay flowers, since then I feel like she’s right with me helping me

For me the most heartbreaking moment was just after the cutoff of this clip, where Richard is lying on his bed repeating/sobbing, "I'm back. I'm back." As if he was wishing himself back to 1912 again while simultaneously lamenting that he's really back in his own time.

Fun fact: The moment when Richard Collier first sees the portrait of Elise McKenna in the film was also the first time Christopher Reeve saw the portrait. Reeve did not want to see the portrait ahead of time, which helped meet the director's objective of getting a genuine reaction from him when he first sees the portrait as Richard.

She dated Christopher Reeve when they made Somewhere in Time in 1979
"When we were making it we fell madly in love. We were both single at the time and had no reason why that couldn’t work out. Later on something happened so we couldn’t be together anymore. It was kind of a bit like the film, but we remained really close friends until the day he died. There’s a famous scene where we’re having a picnic after making love. I see comments below asking if he actually disappeared in Elise’s perspective and if he actually traveled back in time. This is my interpretation. He did travel in time. If anyone is paying attention, when he got sucked back in his own time, he is already in a different room and not the room he started in. Unless of course he was sleep walking. And no he didn’t disappear in thin air during those times he met Elise. He may have gone from her life some other ways, like her manager might have actually done something to him to separate them and they never got to see each other ever again until that night she saw him at the play and gave him the watch. From her longing to see him, she have believed in herself that the present Richard is the past Richard. It’s like a reincarnation and it so happen that both Richards look the same and has the same name. They reconnected somehow in the present time so the present Richard would seek her from the past. Hope this makes sense.

    • @pubichairlover1471

The fact that her panic slowly grows and escalates seems to indicate that he gradually faded into thin air; perhaps a void in time and space opened behind him and sucked him in. At first, she thinks she’s seeing things, but as he reaches towards her and becomes more faint and flies backward into the void, she lets out that bloodcurdling scream. No way anyone could recover from seeing something like that out of nowhere.

What a strange jump cut at 0:22. Some lines must’ve been cut from this scene, because all he says is “You will” very simply and then it suddenly cuts to her laughing as if he said something funny. He also seems to be laughing, although he wasn’t laughing in the previous angle. I don’t see why the scene needed to be cut down. The more dialogue they have planning their future, the more devastating it is when he’s sucked away.

I love the movie because I'm an incurable romantic but I've always felt the writer/writers didn't handle the whole time travel scenario very well. Objectively, its absurd on so many levels. What I think would have been much more effective and realistic would have been to have Richard see the penny and then as he looks up from it, he's back in 1979, lying on the same surface he was when he went back in time. That way, its still heartbreaking to the audience(and Richard obviously) but it would have presented the idea that maybe he dreamt those days with her, as we all have had dreams where we're so incredibly happy in them, only to wake up to reality. I also would have never had her as an old woman come to him, nor show any records of him having been at the hotel. This would have created a much more ambiguous story and to me, much more interesting.
