As a kid in the 80s I grew up seeing Christopher Reeve as Superman. I was devastated when he had his accident and became paralyzed and again when he died in 2004. It's sweet that Jane Seymour named one of her kids after him and shows how much they loved and connected with one another while filming Somewhere in TIme.
That's the true hero! The man who became superman at the end of his journey. I always admire him not because of his movies only, but I always felt he really was a extraordinary man with strong principles and love for life. I'll remember him till the day I die.
This is my all time favorite movie. The best movie I 've ever watched. I love the storyline, the movie theme song, everything about the song, the lyrics, the melody almost perfect! It brings me a nostalgic feeling, almost magical! I love the casts esp. Christopher reeve, my all time favorite actor, he's a good man both in screen but in real life. I'm so sad he had an accident and died. One of the handsomest actor of his time
You and I. Mystical Rose, I love ❤️ this movie and it's also my favorite of all time. I saw it when it first came out back in the year 1980! I've seen this movie about 25 times or more, I own it on DVD, giving away some DVD in the past. Also the music in this movie is the most romantic instrumental music I've heard in my lifetime! Everytime I watch this movie and listen to this wonderful, priceless music I get tears in my eyes, and I'm a grown man almost six foot tall, and a big person! It doesn't matter I'm a romantic at heart, and they don't movies like this sadly anymore! I was heartbroken when I found out that Mr. Christopher Reeve passed away, and his wife also passed away a few years later sadly! He was waiting for her in Heaven in Somewhere In Time!!!!!!
Wow! Only the best will do!!! She is simply marvelous! Both her and Chris had a rare chemistry and integrity that today is gone. Somewhere in time and the eternal love premise will stay in my heart. It’s a unmatched film. Amazing!
I never met Christopher Reeve; but, having read as much about him as I did (and of course seeing his films), I admired him immensely. I always felt -- and I realize that this may have been nothing but wishful thinking -- that we would have been great friends, had we known each other. (I should add that I've never felt that way about anyone else that I've never actually met). I have never in my life been as devastated by a mishap occurring to a celebrity as I was by his accident. (I was two years younger than him). I am so glad that, in addition to his wife Dana (who by all accounts couldn't have been more loving and supportive), he had devoted and intelligent friends like Jane Seymour. Yet another proof of the Wizard's wise advice to the Tin Man: "Remember -- a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others."
A heartfelt and profound tribute, to a truly incredible human being. Physical disability could not diminish the mighty, magnificent Christopher Reeve. He was a far bigger more powerful being than his mere body - as impressive as it was. With his final years, he gave his all to helping those similarly afflicted - most of whom lacked his huge advantages of talent, success, fame and influence. God bless him, a truly great man.
I had a crush on Christopher Reeve from a child. He was a man with morals that you don’t see today in Hollywood at all. He wanted movies that you could leave kids at home to watch and go out on a date . Mentioned in an interview. They don’t make movies like this anymore. Literally just came across Somewhere in Time. I first knew of Chris from my dad buying Superman 1-4 in the 90’s renting it on VHS and hands down he was one of my first crushes. Plus he was a romantic and his humor was well seen in Superman .
Even tho they kept it a secret for years I always just knew Chris and Jane fell for each other making Somewhere in Time. It was obvious and palpable and felt real watching them...
@Rachel B - During her soliloquy in Somewhere in Time, Christopher was so shaken up by her performance that he had to fly his private plane home and reassure his wife. He was the only one in the audience when she did that part.
@@vlugovsky he wasnt married then and he actually broke up with his gf before that movie. During filming, while he and Jane were enjoying an affair, his ex told him she was pregnant. So he "did the right thing". But him and Gae Exton never got married
@@vlugovsky i got mine from an interview with Jane Seymour in a magazine. And its always been pretty well known he was never married to the mother of his first 2 children.
Thank you Jane for the best movie ever produced in "Somewhere in Time". I don't understand why the movie did not get the exposure that was due. The sound track, the production site, which I understand was not the first choice, that marvelous hat which set off your beautiful face and the fantasy love story made this movie what it was. When I had a bad day at work I wound play the cassette sound track in my truck and by the time my 25 minute trip home was finish, I was at peace. When I am disturbed by events at home I watched the movie on VHS, now by way of disc, to bring peace back in my mental state. The Grand Hotel is such a wonderful place and it sickens me to see that it's beauty is now hidden due to the over growth of shrubbery. I would love to give the management and earful. Thank you again Jane, and all who watch this movie.
I loved this movie:"Some Where In Time" in the 1980s with Jane Seymore and Christopher Reeves. It is so romantic, and I love the vintage costumes and all the scenery! So wished that they more movies like it!
I learned the love theme on piano after watching this movie. The movie is in my movie section on RUclips. Growing up in Chicago, loved that the beginning of the movie was filmed there. I remember him more in this movie than in Superman because of how this movie made me feel.

Chris and Jane later admitted they'd been having a romance during So.ewhere in Time. No doubt it helped the movie being they really were lovers, though after filming Chris decided to go back to his ex girlfriend (they later broke up again).
The three actors who played the alien villains in the Superman films said they found Reeve very difficult to work with on Superman 2. They said he was up himself and a real diva.
Reeve's career faded after Superman 4. After that he was relegated to doing tv films. Then his career started picking up again as he got supporting roles in big budget films-Speechless and Remains of the Day, but alas the horse accident put an end to that.

they were together during the filming of somewhere in time (1979) they had long since separated when he had the accident. They were still good friends.
They broke up because during the filming of Somewhere in Time Chris found out his ex girlfriend was pregnant with his child. They were both devastated and that’s what made the chemistry in the film so great. They actually were heartbroken 🥲
The original story the novel is based on may be real from the perspective of thoughts. Human conscious is still a big mystery. One day when mankind is forced to be less materalistic and more spiritual, such as as a consequence of this virus, this species may finally start growing up.
Both "Somewhere in Time " and "The Titanic" were based upon an Emmanuel Swedenborg type of ending. The Lovers were reunited in Death and the Afterlife was theirs to enjoy each other forever.
Yes! Christopher Reeve still remembered. Along with his late wife, Dana. Rip to both.
That connection made that movie.
In my mind Christopher Reeve will always be Superman.
Jane Seymour! - the epitome of womanhood. Class, beauty, charisma, intelligence, humour.

Based on the book, "Bid Time Return". By Richard Matheson, who wrote episodes for TV series, Twilight Zone among them

Beautifully expressed...
Such a talent and beautiful woman inside and out. Christopher Reeve was truly a Superman and the epitome of grace and light even in his darkest hours.
I never thought of Somewhere in Time as a romantic comedy. To me it was a metaphysical romantic movie.

"Beautiful little movie" is a nice way to put it, but "little" only in that it didn't get the attention it deserved.
I think they were dating at that time and then he broke up with her because his ex was pregnant with his child
Dammit! Come on Jane!!! You and Christopher had a love affair during the movie! He couldn't stay with you because his girlfriend was pregnant!!
