People of my generation will know of Christopher Reeve because Superman was a major thing for us as children back then, before all the computers and funky technologies, and frankly Christopher Reeve’s Superman movies are the best ever made
I had the fortune of meeting Christopher and Dana at Dana’s 20th high school reunion in White Plains. I was able to talk to him for a bit. He was so optimistic about a cure, described trials that were being done and he was happy to be there for his wife at her reunion. I left the event feeling incredibly hopeful. They seem remarkably well adjusted, at least from what you can judge in a short interview, given the trauma they must have went through in their childhood's.
What lovely kids. Will in particular. He lost both his parents by the time he was 13 but had been very close to his siblings. He was also cared for by another family that promised Dana they would love and bring him up.
We saw the original Superman movie in a huge theater on its opening day. The audience was stoked and stood to cheer when the movie ended! That was so thrilling!
Reeve and Helen Slater were so well cast as Superman and Supergirl -- and brought tremendous charm to their respective roles. It's a shame that we never saw a Superman & Supergirl movie, but it was great to see those characters together in the Flash.
Their dad (and mum/stepmum) would be so fucking proud of them and the people they’ve become and what they do. Also his son Will looks so much like his dad it’s pretty cool, they all have their dad’s charm too.

Oh my--when I saw the Superman movie in theaters--the first time we saw him change from Clark to Superman everyone broke out in loud cheering for at least several minutes--couldn't hear the dialogue! It was an incredible experience!
You know the incredible people and parents both Christopher and Dana Reeve were by their children. Such classy, empathetic, compassionate and intelligent people. Their parents raised them well. Will is the spitting image of his dad. While it's unfortunate that both of those extraordinary people are no longer with us, it's a blessing to the world that they left a piece of themselves that lives on through their children and their foundation.

The thing that sucked about the CGI cameo in The Flash (outside of them doing it without the family's permission - really sleazy of WB and the filmmakers) is that it missed the essential quality of Reeve's Superman: He was always emoting. Joy, fear, worry, sadness, despair, concern... You always knew what Reeve's Superman was thinking because you could read it on his face.
