OhioGirl1973 🗾Beautifully written - are you a writer? I met Christopher long ago in 1980’s walking in NY CPW & he gave me advice as I was in drama school... He seemed humble & so very tall!
Apples-Girl I am not a writer. But I do sit and write about things. Personal things, funny things...mostly anything. Did you read my other comment about my Mother and Father? Their marriage is what love is all about. Looking out for each other. Helping one another. My Dad (through the suggestion of a friend) kept a journal about my Mom. It devastated my Dad when my Mom had to be put in the Nursing Home, and then 9 years later, in 2012, she passed away. He was never the same. He would sit and look at her pictures for hours it seemed, reminiscing about days and years gone by. He would cry. There was nothing I could say or do to take away his pain. He passed away in 2014, 1 day after Christmas. I was in his room the night he was leaving this world. I had never seen anyone pass away. I remember years ago, we were at the Hospital when my Grandfather (my Mother's Dad) was dying. I got to tell him that I loved him. Then she wanted me to leave the room. My Mother's Sister and Brother were in there telling him their last goodbyes as he was leaving this world. She wasn't here to shield me from witnessing my Dad dying. But I wouldn't change a thing. I got to spend the last moments of my Dad's life with him. Don't matter how many years go by, the pain never goes away or gets easier. Sure there are days when I'm caught up in daily living and driving the kids to their friends' house or a doctor's appt or shopping or going to the library. It's when it's quiet and the kids are in bed that I sit and stare at my parents pictures and cry. Life comes full circle. It will continue this way while we're alive and long after we've passed from this earthly plain. Sorry for my extremely long reply. I do like to write but sometimes I get carried away. The words just start flowing.

One of the saddest movie I've ever watched, the place and the characters combine the right emotion, you can feel the grief while watching every scene in the movie, it will show you sorrows and loneliness, how powerful it might be when you loved someone to do everything just to be with her.
Shame, If only the world can be compelled from this one scene, to witness a broken hearted soul awaiting death to leave one life and trancen into the next to reunite with it's departed. pure display of passion and inclination of the human heart.
I don’t know many films that bring so many people together like Somewhere In Time, it really is a timeless film. And I want to say how amazing the soundtrack is, how perfect it goes with each scene.
It is a love story that bring us to tears with such emotional attachment. His facial expressions telling how much he loves her truly and not able to return home to her. Travelling back in time have never been explored. It is a science fiction movie with such passion for enduring sadness by experiencing with such grieving process.
The incredible acting, the music and the compelling and believable love story is the best of the modern age, no doubt about it. Chris Reeve is (was) an exceptional yet underrated actor. 3:10 - wow, absolute tear jerker. I know very well, I am going through this right now, I am losing my true love as I leave this comment, my heartbreak is just as real as acted by Chris in this scene. Heartbreak from true love, really true though will leave you as depicted in this scene.

best scene in the movie, its so sad but its what makes the movie so good, you dont see it coming and it hits you like a freight train, its haunted me since i was a kid, and that music, especially how it ends for this scene, its utterly gut wrenching
This movie is the most touching love story ever. The scene they picked for this RUclips video is the most heartbreaking scene in the movie. Everything about this movie from the plot to the acting to the dialog, to the perfectly scored music by John Barry makes this movie a major Hallmark.
What a film , gets me every time I watch it. Full of emotion and brilliantly played characters , and the music just draws you right into the feelings and actions of the characters. A definite must watch , but have the hankies ready .
God Bless Christopher Reeve. He really was a great actor and not just Superman. John Barry is and always will be my favourite film composer and the music he did for this movie is just sublime. It reaches deep into your soul. Thank you to all the cast and crew that put this movie together with the love that they felt for the project. We now have it to watch and listen to forever.

I absolutely love this film and cry every time I watch it. Even watching this short clip made me tear up. The acting and the music are increadible and makes it an unforgettable film.

I loved a woman, truly loved her, ten years ago. And lost her. And not a day goes by where I don't think of her...damn you, Christopher Reeve, for making feel so sad all over again...
November 20, 1995 Russian pairs figure skater 4x Russian Nat'l champ, 4x World Champ, 2x Olympic Champ died of a sudden heart attack at 28 years old before his wife and partner Yekaterina Gordeyeva (their daughter Daria was 3) in Lake Placid, NY during rehearsals for the 1995-96 season of Stars On Ice. I was 15 years old and a HUGE fan of figure skating and of G&G's. During the CBS tribute to Grinkov the theme was the SIT theme (and footage was included of his open casket funeral which devastated me). Towards the end of high school I saw a TV broadcast of SIT and IMMEDIATELY recognized the score. I cried all night because I associated it with Sergei and Christopher Reeve's accident. This film is STILL hard to watch, but nonetheless beutiful.
Putting his hand on that portrait, knowing she made that radiant smile because of him, has to be twisting that knife in his heart even more.

Christopher Reeve said in one of his books, that he was a risk-taker. One who lived life on the edge.
If he had a close call, he would step back and take it easy.
But that wouldn't last long.
He even fell off a horse once before and did a somersault over the horse's head and landed on his knees.
I'm just at a loss for what else to say.
This beautiful, intelligent, smart, elegant, charming, witty, tall, dark and handsome guy is gone.
I miss him so much.
Well, I'll close this chapter of my book now 😐.
My favorite movie, but, then I adored Jane Seymour,. So beautiful and then Christopher Reeves, So handsome!!! I cry right at the beginning when she gives him the watch, as he turns the page of the magazine. Heartbreaking ending.
OhioGirl1973 🗾Beautifully written - are you a writer?
I met Christopher long ago in 1980’s walking in NY CPW & he gave me advice as I was in drama school...
He seemed humble & so very tall!
Apples-Girl
I am not a writer.
OhioGirl🗾Yes I read the other post re: your parents & it’s truly stunning.
You should take up writing ✍️ class! Ha ha -
I’m curious, as student of astrology - are you Cancer sign? You show that in your writings...
Also, since your parents had a deep bond, are you also in a happy marriage?
I know I am,
despite my folks divorce.
But they remarried to happy one.
Just curious how our parents relationship with each other affects us?
I do believe in Afterlife & love does reunite there.
Go read this book called:
Hello From Heaven - by Guggenheim.
It changed my life, my perceptions...
It’s Over 300 real life experiences of after death communication from deceased loved ones to the living.
Giving proof love indeed is eternal.
And it’s better in Heaven than here!🗾
I can’t watch this scene without crying. You can see the heartbreak in his eyes! It hurts to see.

What if the love of the life moved on? Then, you learn to forgive them, and wish them well and let them go once and for all.
Beautiful 🎶. Christopher Reeves really acted his part in this 💘 story!
I don’t know many films that bring so many people together like Somewhere In Time, it really is a timeless film. And I want to say how amazing the soundtrack is, how perfect it goes with each scene.
My favorite scene is how he holds that picture with all his heart.
This Movie broke my Heart.
It's Music was unbelievable and so perfectly fitting.
I wished she found him at the end as and old lady and hugged him saying Richard I knew it was You. and they stayed together.. till the end.
But incredible Movie so well done and I saw a girls Best friend She Said she loved this music and played it at her funeral. In a Gym at her high school. It was so sad aswell.
This Movie haunts me.. I do Love it.
Thank God in real life, you can heal from heartbreak and learn to move on without them, and perhaps meet someone else better suited for you.
This is true love. Nothing more to be said.
I bought this on DVD 20 years ago &I still watch it & the scene where he cant get back to June 29th 1912 pulls at my heart.
best scene in the movie, its so sad but its what makes the movie so good, you dont see it coming and it hits you like a freight train, its haunted me since i was a kid, and that music, especially how it ends for this scene, its utterly gut wrenching
This is the most beautiful love story i've ever seen.
I watched this movie when I was just 13, and fell madly in love with Jane Seymour.
His sobbing breaks my heart. ☹️
He dies of a broken heart 💔
Beautiful film, beautiful music, watch it many many times since it came out
very sad just like his role as Superman when he cries and screams over Lois Lane's death when he turns back time
True love. Died of a broken heart.
I never knew men can love a woman like this
You must be a woman.
Tell me you're a woman without telling me you're a woman.
You can never go back. It's just the way it is. That is what makes a man mature. Sadness is what makes us..
still one of the classic..the soundtrack of this movie is quite genius,I THINK only few people can appreciate the movie&the song..
Saw it for the first time this year. Why did I not see it any sooner. It's so underrated.
I didn’t know the name of this film till a few years ago .i first saw it when I was a young boy and I’ve been telling people about this film that broke my heart and made me cry my eyes out it left me shattered .now I can put a name to it somewhere in time is the most romantic and heart breaking film I have ever seen .it had such an impact on me I’m nearly fifty years old now and only seen it once but never will I forget how as a young boy this film brought me to my knees
that penny is literally more evil than Thanos.
This is one of the most depressing movie endings ever
A film and soundtrack that makes anyone who ever comes in contact with it a better human being.
So touching! I saw this movie when I was a kid. Close to 50 and here I am drawn to it.
OMG….SUCH a sad, but wonderful movie.
This scene gets me every time I watch it. When Richard cries on the bed and says, “no”, and then drops the culprit 1979 coin, you only have to really feel for the man. Who says men don’t cry? It’s such a moving scene! 💔
Aaawww this movie always make me cry my heart out. So sad
3:31 to 4:03 :'( Great acting, directing, and makeup.
I couldn't stop crying
breaks my heart ..........truly does....
As a masculine manly man, I am not ashamed to say I blobbed up at the end also.
Me also.
💕This is a seller performance!👏Rest in peace Christoffer Reeve😘💕
As a kid, i loved this movie but also traumatized at the ending. 😄
COME BACK TO ME
one of my favorite movies of all time, although I've seen this film countless of time,Its still has the effect of making me cry
Very sad moment trying to go back in time, I cried like a baby during this scene. Such a sad ending. I would of sat there too and not ear for days....
One of my favorite movies of all time..love the song&d story
Timeless love story (no pun intended) one of my favorites.
If I could go back in time, I will tell Chris Reeve not to ride that horse 😞
Wow! Emotional isn't the word to put to this heartbreaking movie.
I absolutely love this film and cry every time I watch it. Even watching this short clip made me tear up. The acting and the music are increadible and makes it an unforgettable film.
1912 reminds me of the titanic somewhere in time such a good movie the music makes me want to cry the movie itself has so much love in it he was in love with that lady I can't remember her name it's been so long ago when I saw the movie
Mark Frost her name was Elise Mckenna in the movie and she was portrayed by Jane Seymour.
I loved a woman, truly loved her, ten years ago. And lost her. And not a day goes by where I don't think of her...damn you, Christopher Reeve, for making feel so sad all over again...
Omg This is a box of tissues movie. Christopher Reeves was just so wonderful. May he Rest In Peace
Moral of the story, time travel is hell dangerous.
Just turn back time, Superman! You’ve done it before! 🥺
This how when you woke up in a good dream and tried to bring back that dream
The violin solo...... 💔
When he touches her picture with his fingers in the red room, and then touches it with his face, it's heart rendering.
Broken hearts do happen the scene by the window ..so sad yet romantically blissful
