That episode was hands down the best 'fake rock band' episode in television history. The band was so authentic (probably because at least on of the members was in an actual band and could actually act and Peter Elbing is just plain awesome).
He had some really great lines in tha ep. Another fave was "and we rather like teenage girls". And "hello mummy, you naughty girl... Last I knew that WKRP ep was available to view on Hulu.
@melismatica It's my understanding that the band was played by real group Detective, which featured actor/singer Michael Des Barres and Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye.
Everyone always points to the turkey drop ep as their favorite & the best of the series, which is just fine because it's still the greatest but the Scum ep was always my pers favorite, esp when Johnny babysits the band at the hotel.
cont'd from previous post..;D I just watched it yesterday with my 19 year-old daughter who had never seen WKRP (a childhood favorite of mine) and she agreed. I am going to try to rip that episode and I'll post it if youtube allows it. I'll definitely upload it to uTorrent (I'm mixxie67 on demonoid)
Love Ebling's smile after he said the line. He really liked reliving that moment.

Yup, they played the music for the band in the episode.

Coolest episode on WKRP...
thats it for him
I loved that episode
To Peter’s right is Gerritt Graham! He gave one of the funniest performances ever as Jeff in “Used Cars”
“Was the car MOVING when he got out of it…?” 🤣🤣🤣
I'm so happy!
I always thought that if I had a rock group I would model myself after Scum based on this episode - wear expensive suits and rock out.
Isn't he the same guy that was in the Indiana Jones movie with Sean Connery. ? He was one of the guys that wore the red hats.
Why isn't the damn thing posted yet? Come on internet!
@ManuelHung Copyright protection. I tried uploading it, but it was blocked.
OK ... didn't know that's what this was. I thought he was talking about "Journalists" ...
