About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

Jerry getting into the stress of the doorman role and saying "you think you're better than me" is hilarious
The power went to his head quickly.
WORE on Jerry, he was going rebellious and corrupt, too hahaha. Insurgent, resentful, etc. hahaha, insub. etc.
The thing that really makes Seinfeld great is the quality of the performances from side characters and one-off roles. Whoever was in charge of casting knocked it out of the park.
i was just thinking that
they always seem like real people
Truth.
Larry Miller is a friend of Seinfeld's. I doubt it was a typical audition.
Literally everyone but jerry is perfect and an excellent actor
"YOU REALLY THINK YOU'RE BETTER THAN ME, DONTCHA!?"
I LOVE this episode! I grew up watching Seinfeld with my Grandma. Classic '90s show! 😆
Sounds like mendelbaum son
The great Larry Miller!
I love that combative glare he gives Jerry while he’s waiting for the elevator…cracks me up every time.
I also love the Jack Betts cameo.
Me too. That shot gets me every time 😂😂🤣
Deep dive, Jack Betts
I couldn't have imagined him playing George which was intially who they wanted
He did an incredible episode of the sitcom Boston Commons.
Underrated episode. The awkwardness is genius, the waiting for the elevator and the forced conversation.
How is it underrated?
@@cynomyS so underrated
@@cynomyS It's the 2020s. Everything is either "underrated" or "...a national treasure and must be protected at all costs"
Not underrated. Correctly rated.
@@ftroop8462 Correctly rated and must be protected at all costs, periodt
A doorman spin off is required. That guy is perfect. There are doors everywhere....where will he be next week??
Imagine a anti-Jerry gang made up of Davolla, Doorman, Bookman and Sally Weaver😄
You forgot Babu, the Pakistanian Guy with Restaurant 😂
@@romb1818 Yup, and of course Newman.
don't forget dentists...
Newman!!
Mandelbaum?
Only jerry could make a enemy out of the door man.😂😂
*an
Awkward people do that all the time in real life... plus this doorman is not right in the head lol
@@redacted2275
You think you're better than him?
@@jackgrimaldi8685
I do! Lol
@@keefriff99 You really think U R better than me, don't you?,,,😅
I would've avoided that door man, too. Rearranging my whole life around his schedule. Now that i've admitted that, perhaps the healing can begin.
LOL! 😂
🎊 🎉
I do that regularly but with some of my neighbors.😂
Hey it’s nothing to be ashamed of. People like that doorman are a menace!
Fun fact - Larry Miller who played the doorman auditioned for George, and him and Seinfeld are long time friends. Larry Miller is very funny and underrated.
He was in the nutty professor
We have the perfect George.
Exactly. He IS funny and nailed this part. This is one of the best episodes of the entire series.
He's funny. Reminds me a little of Norm MacDonald.
Larry was absolutely great in his Law & Order episodes
Fun fact about the doorman;
This was actually a good friend of Jerry in real life. And was always sure that this sitcom was going to be a hit, even when the ratings were against the show (first 3 / 4 seasons) , its this friend of him that would always talk to him that 'it will be ok, hang in there, youre gonna be great'
Before the show started Jerry also wanted him to play George Costanza, but when Jason alexander did so well in the casting, they gave it to him.
Jason was certain he was going to lose the part because of the friendship between Larry and Jerry.
He loves chipmunks too😉😁
Fun fact:
Jerry also auditioned for the part of Kramer,
But when Kevin did so well in the casting
then gave the part of George to Jason
There seemed to be a code with comedians who got their own sitcoms in the late 80's-90's, where they brought their cronies from the stand-up circuit onto the show for cameo appearances. Seinfeld threw bones to Larry Miller, Fred Stoller, Rob Schneider, Brad Garrett, Dom Irrera, Carol Leifer, Jean Karam, George Wallace, Rick Overton, et al.
In fact, he was Jerry's BEST friend. And Jason was surprised he got the part after his audition in LA
I like that Jerry thinks that there might be some kind of doorman cabal.
You can bet Newmans got some sort of postal worker cabal against him.
0:50 love how they cut to the doorman staring at him
That doorman is a manace to society 😅
Nah just to Jerry.
“AND THEY THINK THEY’RE BETTER THAN US!!!!”
Mendelbaum!
Jerry: Diabolical. He thought of everything. He was setting me up from day one! at 4:34 LOL
A city full of doormen, out to get him! Wouldn’t be the craziest thing on this show honestly.
I’m a NYC Doorman! Midnight shift. This guy is spot on.
Not to be annoying but I’ve always wondered about the life of a doorman. Is it good money? And is it fun? Are there prerequisites, like working in customer service for a while? To me it seems almost mean to make someone stand there opening doors for people, but I suppose that courtesy is part of what elevates some buildings to higher class.
Hope nobody asks you about the Knicks…
The guy playing the doorman is very good. Psycho and sadistic :)
That's Larry Miller, a comedy veteran. He's been in countless movies and TV shows, usually in a supporting role.
Eh not so much. He can just see right through Jerry.
He's been in Law and Order a few times
The side characters were the best
I've read somewhere that Jerry & the actor who played the doorman are long time friends.
Best friends. He was supposed to to play George.
@@shonda79able could have been interesting, but really, there's only one george
what a closer.
"and they think they're better than us!"
"Hahahaha"
that was great, lol.
I LOVE this actor, who played doorman. Every time I see him in something, he’s just perfect.
I could watch him in anything.
Love the way he talks.
I lost my VIRGINITY during that movie. Dont ever make fun of it. It was a very speical moment
"And pray tell, what did the _doorman_ say?"
Well the doooorrman certanly does have a WILD imagination, doesn't he?"
Larry Miller is hilarious.
He's better than you
Sad truth there are door men that really act this way.
*"..You think you're better than me?.."*
He must be related to the Mandlebaums.
well the answer for that is quite simple......shhhhhhhhhh
There's still doormen?
There are so many sub plots here. Pure genius. Love how it comes together at the end.
This episode is gold
What's kinda cool about this interaction is that Jerry and Larry (the doorman) are best friends in real life.
Can’t stand people like the doorman. They feel bad about themselves so they are very defensive and put their bad feelings onto you
They're simulants
you think you are better than them ?
I feel the same about Uber drivers who think passengers are obligated to converse with them.
@@fascinatinglist9654 Just pretend you're deaf.
They really think they're better than us!
I’ve seen this many times and STILL laugh out loud…A true sign of great comedy 🎭
The show is funny if you can laugh even after 25 years of its last run. Same with Friends. But can't say the same about Cheers. I just don't find it funny enough.
I could see norm macdonald playing that role! Rip
Strange, I thought the same thing.
Yeah... I wonder if Norm and Jerry were already friends when "Seinfeld" was still on... I know that Jerry admires Norm a lot.
The last scene, the short guy should have been played by Joe Pesci.
the Doorman and Mr. Bookman coulda been diabolical together
Add in Newman and they’d be unstoppable.
And with the lawyer it would be fkn great
@@TheeSherminator Jackie Chiles only disliked Kramer for all the botched opportunities to make a lot of money via suing people.
Absurd and so, classic! The inappropriateness of the doorman's interactions with Jerry; Jerry deciding his schedule based on the doorman's because he would rather avoid than confront; how he quickly he is transformed once he's in the doorman's shoes (or hat :)...
Jerry: What, does this guy got a personal vendetta with me, what I do to him? at 2:29 LOL
I think the janitor from scrubs took the doormans attitude
Elaine needs to relax to the soothing sounds of Next Stop Pottersville
Only Jerry can get into a situation like this 😄
So classic, when I started being a Doorman in Manhattan we read the NY Post every shift during slow times. Now today’s modern doormen play with their IPhones. Times have changed!
They think they are better than you!
He looks and sounds like Norm McDonalds long lost brother.
"And WHAT, pray tell, did the Doorman say?"
You guys may think this is funny but in Manhattan if you get on the wrong side of a doorman he can mess you up in so many ways and I'm not kidding!
Door man was low key trolling
i always thought the door man should have been norm mcdonald
Honestly no joke, this guy could have been a great Lex Luthor if given the role.
"...and what pray tell did the Door Man say?" 😅
Elaine's face at 1:40. LOL!
You ain't kidding!
3:35 They didn’t even try to make the baby look realistic lol
I always loved that "diabolical!" at 4:34 lol
4:17
It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you!
I love the doorman.
The way he just grins condescendingly is perfect.
Larry Miller's bit in Best In Show is another gem.
What a attitude about the mail
That guy was nuts lmao
More like the Doorman has a vendetta against Jerry.
I love how polite Jerry always is, even to jerks. 😅He says @2:12 "I really don't have to talk to you. Good bye."
Alright, here's what we'll say. You came to pick me up...
I came to pick you up...
ah yes, the spokesperson for The Larry Miller Hair System For Men™️
It's free...for one week.
The trick to dealing with people like this is to lean into the insult.
When he says, you really think you’re better than me don’t you
My response would be “damn right I do you’re a doorman”
I love tbis episode, so funny but nothing beats Mr.Bookman and crazy Joe Divola
"This is about that kid's right to read a book without gettin' his mind messed UP!" "I got news for you JoyBoy! The jig is up!"
Fun fact: Doorman was one of the choices for the role of George Costanza. And he was literally the last but one in the race.
I was enemy of the door man of my building because i would buy furniture and he would not allow the delivery guys to delivery what i bought
You really think youre better than him dont you
@@chris323 🤣🤣
Jerry Jerry funny episode 🤣 😂 😆
Newman and the doorman would get along just fine
Doorman could've been a regular on the show. Loved this guy
The doorman should have been a witness for the prosecution in the finale.
Honest question, what's the point of a doorman? I have never had, nor felt the need for a doorman. I can't think of any reason why you would need a doorman. Other than giving you a sense of superiority. You know, thinking you're better than somebody. Oooohhhh, now I get it.
Poor doorman has to work 2 jobs to put food on the table for mother and baby 😂😂😂😂
One of my favorite episodes
2:42 this is exactly how me and my cousin Caitlin would talk😂
This guy was so close to being Norm MacDonald
Larry Miller is so good should have had own show
Completely agree!!
That doorman is scarier than the cable guy.
So many great one-off characters
i was . . . just messing with his head
Diabolical.. LMAO
I cannot think of a more easier job that that.
“That’s ok isn’t it?” 😂😂😂
Larry Miller's, Jerry's friend in real life, and the first choice to play George until Jason Alexander killed it in the audition...you can see some serious comedic chemistry here, sometimes I would like to take a peek in the alternate universe where he actually ended up playing George.
and then they invented the door buzzer..............
thank God 😂
The doorman was played by Larry Miller. He is one of Jerry's closest friends. When Jason Alexander auditioned for the role of Costanza, a bald friend, he was sure that he wouldn't get it. He auditioned anyway, and by the time he got home there was a message on his answering machine that he got the role. He asked Jerry why he didn't hire Miller, Jerry said, because you were the best, for that role.
True professionalism!
That guy was on 10 things I hate about you. He is a great actor but I don't think he would be right for George because he is an alpha male type.
The doorman actor actually close friends w Jerry in real life
That's how doormen really are, they got a chip on their shoulder cause they gotta open doors for people lol.
4:46...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm waiting on mail now'
Mann taking forever'
John: first the mailman and now a doorman? What's with him making enemies with other people.
I have this problem currently with my doorman.
I would watch a TV series called The Doormen.
Jerry: How about those Nicks.
Doorman: Oh I see the sports page, what makes you think I wasnt reading wall st page oh I know cos Im the uneducated doorman."
😁😄😃😆 Love the insecurities oooozing out of him and how he loathes Jerry. Such a good show.
The truth is people can open their own doors.
The great Larry Miller.
Nah that doorman did Jerry wrong 😂😂😂
This episode is hilarious 😂
Great episode
He looks and sounds like the Tommy hanks guy
Yea basicly
Larry miller who was up for the role of george I believe before they gave it to Jason, indeed Jason thought they'd give it to Larry because he was already friends with them whereas Jason was an outsider.
didn't see episode but enjoyed the clips
Larry Miller is the Brodie of doormen.
Neil Flynn kind of used this doorman schtick for his janitor character on Scrubs.
