I subscribed because I loved how you made it look easy but was able to be completely honest about any issues had. Plus those additional measures you took to make it completely stable was a winner in my eyes. As an Aussie who needs a new shed desperately I'm looking for one that is going to be easy to build...sort of...lol
Thanks for doing the work and posting this video. I'm thinking about purchasing and I, like you, hate reading instructions!!!!!!!! Great job and thanks again!!!!!!!!
Any tips for the roof? I just barely got the first side on with the ridge beam. I can’t get the second roof panel to slip into the ridge beam. It looked so easy when you did it! I’m at my wits end and really regretting buying this shed lol
The ridge beam was a bit of a pain. I think it’s one of the few spots I got stuck on for a bit. Don’t work on it angry or it will be harder. Been there and done that. Take a good break, even a few days if you need to and go back to it with a second person if possible. I remember beating on it with a rubber mallet for a while until I finally found what it was hanging on. Can’t remember if it was a screw or just a piece of metal, but once I figure out what it was hung up on it slid in. It wasn’t perfect, but it was enough to start putting screws in. 👍🏼
@@MapleBoarder78 Great advice! I’ll definitely give it a few days and get back to it with some extra hands. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. Thank you!
@@MapleBoarder78 I appreciate you following up. I wasn’t able to get it perfectly aligned so I drilled some new holes and I’m planning on adding a sheet of metal to line up with the intended holes as support. It’s withstood some winds and rain so far so I think it’ll hold up long term. Thanks again!
I also faced the issue with getting second roof panel installed correctly. Even after 2 people adjusting, pushing, it wont get inserted & installed. Then I realized that there is a screw which joins two panels. That screw was slamming against ridge beam (top side) while we were pushing the second roof side. I used a long stick & nudged the beam bit upwards & the roof panel bit downwards. That did the trick & panel got into its place correctly.
Just built one of these in Australia. We also had a few issues which needed DIY experience and we got there in the end. Not a good shed for beginners as you need to do the odd fix or cheat to get it together.
Hi, I am thinking about building this Shed right up against the neighbour's fence, is it possible to move the shed back and forward a little once assembled in order to fix the roof in place without having to go to the neighbour's yard and put a ladder over the fence?. Looks like it might be but its not clear how you screwed down the roof with it up against the fence you have there.
You may have to climb up on your neighbor’s fence to screw down the screws on the back depending on how close you put it to the fence. I had to climb up on my fence to get those back screws. The back of my shed is about 1 foot away from my fence. You can also build it slightly away from the fence, screw the roof down, then have a couple people help you scoot the shed up against your neighbor’s fence. The shed is fairly light and can be moved once built.
We get rain occasionally. It’s not water proof by any means. So if you have things that absolutely cannot get wet I would silicone it well. I keep some gas cans in it, along with an atv, some spare wood boards, a shop vac, and some electric gardening tools. None of which will be hurt if they get a few drops of water on them. I’d say the shed will probably keep out 95% of rain.
It seems like you are also living in a hot and arid climate? We are living in New Mexico and I was wondering how the shed is holding up. Does it get really hot inside during the day and how is the heat radiation from it? Our shed would be right next to our lawn. I was also thinking about putting a workbench in the shed and using it for some projects, so I would spend some time inside it (probably in the mornings and evenings, when it's a bit cooler...)
Yes very hot and dry climate here in the desert. It gets fairly hot inside the shed during the day (95F). But it’s so small I bet a small portable air conditioner would make it bearable enough to use as a man cave.
Buying the materials and building for a real DIY will cost at 1/2 the price less than Sam's & Walmart offer. A kit purchased & the metal pieces I can perhaps agree with their price. No pun intended

Awesome job, great family, you rocked it all while wearing Chanklas!! Thank you for sharing!!!
One heck of a yard with great views of those mountains.
Shed arrived yesterday. Really helpful overview video. Will be much easier to organize sections. Thanks!
Let me know how the build goes! 👍🏼

@@SchizzinFizz Did you end up figuring out how to get that roof part assembled?

Some other vid said bolting it down to treated wood voids warranty. Is this true
No idea. If I knew that prior to the build, I would still have bolted it down to treated wood.

Agreed 👍🏼
so its a dirt floor?
Yes

@@MapleBoarder78 Thanks man, I'm sold on this shed!
Wish I would have bought a second one back when they were only $500!
Do you get any rain out there? If so how does it hold up against rain, do I need to put silicone all over the nooks and crannies?

Considering this shed and the arrow 10x12 for central Florida. How is the wind durability?
Excellent. We get some crazy wind here. Make sure it’s bolted down though like mine.
Wish u would have explained a lil more on the assembly
Thinking about buying this same shed how has it held up any issues so far ?? Thank you in advance
No issues, really glad we bought it. It’s been through a few wind storms, still standing.
What about in snow ? Thank you so much in advance
Great video I am going to order a 5x10 from Home Depot
Also, the metal would definitely be sturdier.

The edges seem kind of sharpe.
They are, but once built it’s not an issue.

Got it, looks like i gonna grab some wood and do it the oldschool way
Great video but the shed itself looks too flimsy for my taste.
This video was helpful now I know not to buy it.
A tin foil shanty...... that's not a shed
