    Excellent video, Roger. Just what I was looking for. I began to follow your channel when I bought my laser printer. Your videos were a great help to me then, and this video is a great help to me now as I play with my newly acquired sublimation printer. You do a fantastic job describing and demonstrating each step of the way, which makes for easy learning. Your dry humour and occasional sarcasm are the icing on the cake.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад +1

      Not a good idea to hot pull as you have found out with the ghosting. I let them sit until I can handle bare handed without getting burned. "Speckles" are usually caused by lint. Make sure mug is clean and dust/lint free. Cheap paper towels can leave lint behind. The blue shop-type towels don't.

    Awesome video. Couple questions.
    If color from bottom to top, do you need more tape around the top and bottom to get the image on towards the edges?
    How many rejects should I expect before getting hang of it in a production manner?
    I've seen some mention using butcher paper, but noticed you aren't using any. Is that because the designs aren't to the edge?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад +1

      To get color to wrap around the top and bottom edges will require more tape to bind the paper to the curves, much like we do with tumblers on the bottom edges. I don't use butcher paper since I use a heavy high quality sublimation paper. My reject rate is less than 1% and usually is a result of something stupid like putting the image on upside down when in a hurry.

    I know you talked about you make some of your own graphics on you tile sublimate video - just curious what you make it in? I have many of the same machines that you do and trying to do this as a business instead of hobby and I want to do my own stuff instead of buying pre-made STLs or SVGs etc. I know how to create from png but I want to do it ground up.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  2 года назад +1

      First, I am not really an "artist". I have trouble drawing stick people! I belong to a couple of graphics services where I obtain licensed graphics to use, then modify/combine in another program, depending on end use. For laser work, I usually use lightburn. For sublimation, it is either Inkscape, Photoshop, or Photoscape. Inkscape is a great solution to converting other formats to SVG.
