My golden era of football I damn near tear up watching this thinking about all da games me and my pops watched together & him letting me stay up late Sunday nights man… the times u take for granted ❤️hopefully me and my son can have that same sports bond like me and my pops did
Crazy KC had Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Jamaal Charles back to back to back. Imagine if they didn’t have injury issues? I’m a chiefs fan so biased but has to be the greatest RB 3 peat ever!!!
Dude was a BEAST in college. I was at his last game against Michigan State. Had 200+ by the third quarter and like 4 TDS to reach 2000 yards. Saw him several times in college. He was a great back. One of my favorites.
Brandon Jacobs literaly averaged 13. Yard minimum every time he touched the ball, he the only reason I watched the giants!! .priest Holmes & ricky Williams was my favorites tho. Can't forget jamal Lewis and Eddie George!!
Herm Edwards ran him into the ground. L.J. would have 30+ carries in a lot of those games and I vaguely remember him having 40 carries in a few games those two strong seasons he had.
Kareem has a lot more lateral agility but neither are super fast. Both have powerful hips. Larry runs "taller" like Marcus Allen but Kareem is a lower runner.
at least 3 pro bowlers on that line hall of famer blocking at tight end too look at the list of backs doe holmes johnson charles all were dominant runners in their time. as far as johnson dude was big explosive understood how to play rb excellent feel but he a certified tough guy no 🧢. turf toe got em doe same thing that got deion
Well, I'll take the 2000-2008 line over any in Chiefs history. It's like saying "Mahomes wouldn't be shit without his weapons". Yes, football is a TEAM sport.
I know this isn't a popular opinion.. but I firmly believe LJ was a better RB than Priest. Yeah, Larry was an asshole, but he was incredible before he was run into the ground. When he came in for Priest he was obviously the better runner.
@@bullet85dj go watch those games from that year. When LJ came in for the last 9 games he was much better than Priest was. That's not a knock on Priest...what LJ was able to do behind the same line was record setting at the time.
@@GIANTENEMYB1RD Priest Holmes was also 31 years old and still produced more than Larry Johnson did. On the ground he was nearly as efficient as Johnson was but his volume numbers were much higher.
@@loganhess1389 Look at LJ's numbers over the 9 games he started in Vermeil's last season. It was the most production for a running back over a 9 game span in the history of the NFL, at the time. And that year the O line, while outstanding of course, wasn't quite as good as the ones from 2002-2004 that Priest had. I actually put together a very long post about this some years ago. I wish I could find it because I'm far too lazy to go dig it all up again haha
@@GIANTENEMYB1RD no it’s not. Priest Holmes had two years that were better than LJ’s best. Holmes literally has the most productive 3 year stretch in NFL history from 2001-2003.

My favorite team 2002-2006 was this Chiefs team because of Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes, also Dante Hall

Then we had Kareem Hunt!!! Now imagine if that didn't turn out the way it did. Would've been another Chiefs RB legend
And now we are watching a future legend Isiah Pacheco
@@user-eh3su3sz2bbro same and I’m not a chiefs fan 😂
Johnson unfortunately had to many off the field issues
Don't forget " The Nigerian Nightmare "
" Grand momma " 😂😂💯
2000s look like 1950s lol
He was nice!!! I think his attitude and that fact that the chiefs weren't very good at the time ruined him.
NFL IS RIGGED
@@rockon8174 A part of me don't wanna believe it but fam some things are just too good to be true👀
roids and cte was hte downfall
@@julianrandolph995 yeah, he holds the nfl record for the most rushing attempts in a season. that definitely takes a toll on your body.
He was my favorite RB at that time. He’s the reason I wore 27 back in the day
Larry Johnson was no joke!
God I remember watching him as a kid, also Brandon Jacob’s and Jerome bettis. Era of big RBs is over
*cough cough Derrick Henry cough*
Yeah must have forgotten Henry 😒
I rem big Jacobs he was about 6'4 if I'm not mistaking right?

💎It’s tha roc!💎
Been waiting for this! Thank you!
The first NFL fathead I had, Larry Johnson.
🗣️No Diddy 😂😂
Same, him and LT
He had 2 back to back 1700 yard seasons 1 of them he only played 9 games 🤯

RIP Stuart Scott
LJ is legendary
I watched all these games in high definition. RUclips makes it look like it's ancient history lol
It sucks that he only had 2 great years

anyone else notice him and kareem hunt have similar running styles? toughness, explosion, feel, strong but mosf importantly they both tough asf

@@autodidacticprofessor869 I agree, although I'll argue Larry is more powerful runner.
Kareem is a scat back and Larry a power back with speed

You got some Eric Dickerson highlights?
Marcus Allen was before all of them too
I like it
Dude, that's not a diamond he is making.
Derrick Henry 1.0
He had no moves. Just decent speed, power, and some good blocking.
1:06, you sure?
“He had no moves” the RUclips comment said about the former NFL all-pro
Emmitt smith had no moves and he got 3 rings and league leading rusher .. you’re comment is hollow
in ALL honesty i did do + or probably will SOMEWHAT like johnson
