Thanks for putting this together. For the last 12 years, I've worked as a communication trainer for off shore business processing and call center providers in Asia. I'm now planning to do my CELTA, so I can move into more formal teaching for my career. As a Dyslexic, any advice for learners with similar challenges would be much appreciated. I'm particularly worried about the grammar and written assignments, so the suggestions on reading material and organisation tips were very helpful. I'm encouraged by what the trainer is saying about the focus on the practical element, as this may suit my learning style. Thanks.
Hi there. In terms of managing the course with dyslexia, I'd suggest doing it at a university if you can because they have the best provision for additional needs. I'd also suggest disclosing your dyslexia at the interview stage and ask them how they will accommodate you. If you don't like what you hear, don't do it at that centre!! Hope it goes well 👍
Thankyou Stephen for the vital information and advice I find it very helpful I’m not a qualified teacher but I want to do a Celta course in the near future I have been researching and studying Grammar in my spare time putting in at least 2 to 3 hours a day Thanks again for the valuable information
