I'll be honest, I thought your profile picture was a James Blake reference so I thought you were joking in the intro lol. Your tastes definitely line up with James Blake too.
just want to say youre the first person who's had as much regard for Lost Angel Nights as I have, nice to hear someone with the same opinion. Say what you will is still beautiful and great though
The production is mostly James Blake himself, with some help ofc like Joji on Life is not the same. And, James Blake worked on both Blonde and Endless, so yeah.
@@registrar9984 fair enough, I'm sure she helped on the production! but it's clearly nothing like a typical singer/producer situation. james is known to be as much a producer as he is a singer and songwriter... his unique production (the sub-bass stuff) is a huge part of what got him famous in the first place.
Listen to his self titled!!!! His best imo, it sounds like nothing else. He's as good of a producer and pianist as he is a singer... Like fr, he's one of the best producers of all time, there's a reason JPEGMAFIA looks up to his early stuff so much. Incredible. Also, he wrote Godspeed on Blonde. Assume Form and Overgrown are good too.
James Blake is dope! His self titled debut is amazing as well. If you’d like a change of pace an album I discovered this year, Untrue by Burial, is one of my favorite projects of all time with like the heaviest vibe I’ve ever heard. Don’t want to spoil too much but check it out if you wanna have a good time!
For sure listen to his live performance of godspeed (he co-wrote it for frank) truly beautiful. And most of his work is heavily influenced by synths. Live he will also do techno songs completely to the point where every sound you hear is made live
i can't believe that from all of the james blakes albums you started with this one! it's not bad but when you compare it to his early works, it becomes kinda bland tbh. i'd be able to enjoy this way more if it was from anyone else. please react to his debut, it's so innovative and fantastic. he works really well with negative space and pushes so many boundaries. it's less poppy and more experimental, not that that's always a good thing, but he does it so well that seeing him does things like friends that break your heart feels not as remarkable.

I think you would really enjoy James's solo albums. He knows how to create an cold, yet beautiful atmosphere!

i literally thought the same thing wtf hahaha
Self titled is definitely a must
And his second album too.
Every album he’s done tbh, The Colour In Anything is so beautiful
@@ANTIV15T TRUE, Radio Silence to me, is a strong way to start the album!

Great reaction mate!
this is a huge W from RUclips recommendations and obviously amazing album

The outro on White Ferrari is James Blake
23:10 Jameela Jamil is his girlfriend. James produces his own work.
she has production credits though
She’s both. I think she worked in radio before moving into acting.

His self titled album is genuinely fascinating. His 2019 album Assume Form is fantastic too!

Yes, his first album sounds way more experimental and unique, shame he stopped making music like in 2011

his “enough thunder” ep is my favorite solo album/ep by james blake. the dude is amazingly talented when it comes to creating atmosphere.

You have to listen to the version of Funeral featuring Slowthai. So good
I’m new to the channel love your reviews !! In my opinion He sounds kinda like a male version of Billy Eilish 🤟🏾
This album is great, but it would be so much better if he had cut Foot Forward lol. Completely agree with you about that one
