Wow, the AI is trash. Btw, I'm really happy that you got into Rome again. That's the reason I subbed in the first place, for your Octavian campaign and history intros. Might I suggest you only hire mercs just before attacking and disbanding them in the same turn, after your victory (to save money).
One of the best Romans formation for mobility was the chessboard formation, so leaving enough space between the units so that the manouver was easier, example

Your Roman hoplites can go into hoplite formation like your mercenary unit did. It would lessen your casualties for your stronger units

Fantastic. Loving to see you return to Rome 2. Crazy that this game is still getting dlc. In the time between turns use whatever little money you have to try and bribe other faction for trade deals and non aggresion pacts.
TheMrFishnDucks I think the reason they're releasing new dlc's still is because they don't plan on ever making another Rome game. I dunno just my oppipnion.

Another tip raze settlements that are of foreign culture it's cheaper to do so it just destroys the buildings and that way you don't have to convert every single one of them but the main one and the port of any make sure you have enough money on hand though because if you don't have enough for buildings you may get slums and these are bad

its weird watching rome without mods
Generals altho technically as weak/strong as their unit are less likely to die than the bodyguards in the unit. Not sure if 100% a fact but its what i noticed from hundreds of hours of playing
Tip: for the hoplites only activate their phalanx ability after charging them and counting to 3 it's a offensive formation

pretty sure that youre general is only as strong as his bodyguard in rome 2 so he will die very easily compared to Warhammer generals. Also try to attack the back or right flank of enemies with your skirmishers because you wont be hitting them on the shields so it will do more damage (not entirely sure if this is true for vanilla rome 2 but it definitely is for DeI)

All the quotes make me think this is a Caesar in Gaul campaign. We need some Cincinnatus quotes for the Republic. And if you thought that Cincinnati, like Memphis or Georgia, was an American name: Think again!
Memphis isnt American either actually, its a city in Egypt! I believe it has a new name now, an Arabic name. But it was a city
Dude, I meant that memphis and georgia are also not originally American, like Cincinnati. Georgia being a country in the Caucuses and memphis being the original seat of the ancient Egyptian religion.

The Etruscans were not an italic indo-european civ. they were what was in Italy before the italic romans and Celtic Gauls encroached on italy.

What time period is this mod? Is obliviously a period after the 7 kings and before the Marius Reform, since i saw some of the ancient italian tribes (i'm italian btw). But i'm confused since i remember that some of this tribes were conquered before the fall of the last king of rome Tarquinio il Superbo by the founder of the Republic Lucius Giunius Brutus

at some point i would love to see a lets play of europa barbarorum 2. i think the EB mods are the best versions of any total war game. well except the naval battles in Empire total war were amazing.
