      Linards Žagats how much he won as in conquered? He ruled over all of Greece (aside Sparta but they weren’t very prominent by then anyway), large chunks of the balkans, after defeating the Persians he held all of Egypt, modern day turkey, pretty much all of the Levant and the Middle East aside from Arabia, and reached as far as north western India before ending his campaign.

    In regular DEI, as Makedon, I always take two thracian merc warriors for the right flank. When everyone's engaged you just walk them behind enemy lines & slaughter the poor fools.

    If you are playing on the newest version of this campaign, which I assume you do, then you don't really need to worry so much about Persia declaring war on you. It's likely that won't do it until you do it yourself. Also, the Egyptian satrapy does not recruit any units in this buildup, so there is no danger of any amphibious attack on Greece, or at least not by Egypt.

    I paid the Persians after I defeated Thrace, did so for maybe like 20 - 30 ish turns, was dead expensive but let me capture all of Hellas and Illyria and consolidate them. Now I essentially own all of turkey and starting to push into Syria.

      I didn't pay them off. I a half stack at apollonia pontica and waited for war. They didn't attack me. It's turn 30 as well. I am already gathering forces to be the one to declare war myself. Did I do something wrong? They should have atatcked by now. Havent paid them anything

    By far the most difficult total war campaing IMO. No way to do it without strong economic settlements before invading asia + right mix of units. Unpractical to follow Alexander´s original pathway though, at least if you want to finish it in "historically accurate" time.

    Greeks historically lived on the coasts of thrace for centuries and centuries before Alexander so maybe the mod considered that and that's why there was a small Greek population present when you conquered the province.

    Dreaded Commander reduces morale by %, not an absolute value. Still an incredible skill, especially if you like to loot and run a slave economy. I usually take it.

    Aggressive / Defensive stance for auto-results is mostly affected by the kind of units you and the enemy have. If you have a lot of skirmishers and archers but the enemy doesn't then a defensive stance reduces your casualties while an aggressive stance is a better idea if you have a lot of melee cavalry but not an advantage in ranged units. The balanced stance is a good choice for when the overall army composition is similar to that of the enemy or if you're unsure whether or not to be aggressive or defensive

      Geeza 1589 Try to find the official mod list by Dresden (the chief creator and the steam account that uploads DEI) on the the steam workshop. It should have all mods required to play DEI, and many more DEI compatible mods you can choose from. If you have any part of DEI downloaded, you should be able to find this from the mods page on the workshop.
      Also, you need to turn mods on in the total war launcher when starting the game.

    • @jamesmai1556

      If you haven't found an answer yet, those are the default Ultra unit sizes for those units in Divide et Impera/the Alexander campaign. DEI units are generally larger than Vanilla

    I pushed very hard at the beginning, trying to conquer all of Thrake swiftly which was actually a pain in the ass... then, I conquered Dacia and Pannonia to the north as well as one region in Dalmatia - in between I tried to get as much trade agreements and defensive Alliances on the way as possible. Now, with my provinces cut and dried and a decent amount of money in my coffers, I´m just about to push into Asia Minor with 5 armies (and possibly one fleet) ... Persia didn´t declare war on me just yet, other people seem to have made that experience throughout their campaigns pretty early? (already 90 rounds in)
    Looking forward to seeing the Persian army in action. Do their stacks appear out of nowhere?, f.e. when you beat a bunch of their armies, does the AI resurrect them instantly somewhere else? Like an attila situation?

    • @calyx5210
      @calyx5210 5 лет назад

      my experience was egypt built 0 armies and i just swept there territory with a naval invasion while simultaneously invading lydia. lydia and cappodocia didnt really recruit much, but armenia and persian empire itself seem to have no end of armies so far. they do have to recruit but persia has a large amount of territory so they can recruit several armies at once

    Hey you should try the Spartan Empire mod for Rome 2 Total War. It is almost a Spartan fantasy mod as it gives Sparta a ton of op units including a lot of women. But it is so satisfying to watch a small unit of elite Spartan spears tear through a whole army of barbarians just like in the movie.
