Hey Legend, not sure if you're aware, but don't build the regular barracks inside Latium, it's already included in Rome itself as Camp Martius, you only need the aux barracks there if you want the excellent cav f.e.
@Joseph Sosa Same here, but only rorarii spam. After that, carthage WILL declare war against you if you attempt to take scilly. Gave me a lot of issues when I tried to take out the syracusians.

Legend is a great guy, says everything the way he feels it, he is smart, not because he has strategy, and the same about everyone else. Nah, they lack whole torsos body. A missing armour would be the least of their problems.
They lack a torso body because the armour + clothing is supposed to cover those parts of the body - there's no sense in wasting your computer's power rendering something no one is ever going to see. So, when those layers are not visible, the lack of a body underneath is revealed.

I subscribed yesterday, primarily because having seen a few videos I realised that here is someone who is a more accomplished player of the game than I am, that's a first on RUclips. That said part of me wanted to see that ticker click over from 99K to 100K. Well it wasn't me that made it happen but I'll stick around, watch, listen and learn. Here's to the next 100K.

Same exact thing happened to me! Loving these vids and loving total war again. I just kicked off a very hard difficulty shogun 2 Date campaign and having a blast!
I finally make myself uninstall Rome 2 so I can move on to other things, and you go and do this! I'll have the itch to play again, but it's worth it because this is EXACTLY the kind of campaign I've been wanting to see you do. Roma Invicta

Ha!! I'm on my third or fourth Rome 2 campaign watch through. Just finishing up Caesar in Gaul. I'm not sure which one it was anymore they're budding together but he was talking about how he'll never do a DEI playthrough unless we make it worth his while, which is completely understandable. So imagine my shock when this was the next recommended thing that popped up. It sucks that I'm 5 years late, but I'll still contribute a view lol.

Lol. The AI set at maximum difficulty and the AI just gives you peace deals?! I usually play my Total War games at medium/hard and the AI never accepts my peace deals.

Just wanted to add that you shouldn't underestimate the power of slingers. Their damage is low, but they have lots of ammo and can eventually wear down a unit of heavy infantry/cavalry if used to hit their flanks. They also add to the morale impact of the enemy unit that's being shot. Not to mention, longer range than archers.
Playing Legendary difficulty is great but auto resolved everything to avoid the minus stat is not so great. I rather see you play normal difficulty but do great manually battles .

Divide Et Impera is God-Tier. It is also easy to halve unit health and increase the movement speeds a bit for those with little time for battles.

Truly deserved. I knew you for quite some years but never subscribed, however recently I started watching more and more of your videos.
First thing that struck me was how you are definitely different than all the other Total War RUclipsr, when you wanna say something good or bad on the game you say it and even though I consider myself quite a good total war player, I still learn stuff from you.

It's not. It is on Legendary though. It's just challenging enough at the start to keep it interesting. Rome has easily the greatest potential of any faction though.

Not a single manual resolve on 1,5 h episode, WTF moit? We love battles, it's Rome Total War, game bout battles.

DonKeeHot yeah it’s kind of routine for the newer games. It is far more effective than manually resolving, especially on higher difficulties. To further add to this, he’s playing this mod that has drastically overhauled unit stats and battle mechanics and balanced them for normal difficulty on legendary. It is very likely his units would vastly underperform in manual battles (like legionaries losing to medium or light infantry types of unbalanced). I’m not saying it’s more entertaining, as I’d love to see the battles, but for Legend’s playstyle it definitely makes sense.
The issue is that DeI stats on the whole are a lot lower, so the flat stat boosts that the AI units get are far, far more impactful than in vanilla. Not a huge difference later on when stats start to get higher again, but at the start it's a massive difference. Without auto-resolving he'd lose.

I always autoresolve in DEI since they did their combat revamp in 1.2. It was good before that revamp.
@@Jinny-Wa For a while the stats were inflated to the point where they were close to playable, but yeah they basically gave up on that. Now you either play legendary and autoresolve or you play Very Hard and lower battle difficulty. The stats are far too low for legendary now.

Yes. Never happens to me in Total War. The AI just doesn't accept my peace deals ever even though nothing is happening in the war and we are even far apart.
Artillery is pretty much game breakingly good against the Rome 2 AI.

I feel perfectly fine about no battles. There can be a certain pleasure in watching proper management. - As we know it will mean a better campaign overall.

Fighting the battles in this mod is pretty worth it. A few units of cavalry, a few rear charges and boom. 100 losses vs their whole stack basically. Fairly accurate to as most army losses at this time took place as one side fled the field

Had anyone ever done a test on auto resolve because if I am gonna lose a settlement I always order the Garrison to fight aggressively I was curious if it inflicts more casualties on the enemy

Can you play this mod with vanilla-sized units? 40-strong cavalry and 160-strong infantry units seem to be enough for me, I'd rather not trade performance for unnecessarily (IMO) larger units.
I don't know how nobody declares war on you. Usually when I play DEI on higher than hard difficulty, a lot of factions declare war on me, sometimes for no reason, as their diplomacy level with my faction is neutral. Anyway, shout out to you for playing on legendary, it is something that I find impossible in DEI!
I subbed some months ago, just before you began your 'Saving Your Disaster Campaigns' series kicked-off. Watching your channel grow since has been something else. Perhaps it's the Canadian in me, but I find it really uplifting when I see others succeed. Congratulations :)

Yeah. Hold off the Ballistas until you got plenty of money. They cost 2 grand but run you up another 500 each turn.
Edit: Also, you keep using your politicians to organise games in Latium to help with the happyness, which is good, but you keep avoiding their house cards. Some of them can be some decent buffs for improving happyness.
You have conflicting mods that's why your generals look odd good video though.
Silly thing to ask, but...Legend, do you have the updated files? Your game looks 'different' from the experience I recently had with the mod
Really interesting playing DEI on legendary difficulty. That's probably why no1 wants to trade or diplomacy with you lol. The mod is balanced for normal/normal difficulty. I wouldn't recommend anything higher that hard campaign and normal battle, otherwise the penalties and scaling is completely broken.

I don't know if its a new addition or not, but in the edicts there is an option to sell slaves which generates profits and reduces how many are in your settlements, once they are down you can reintroduce the tax edict.

Try offering the trade agreement and non-aggression pact at the same time. You'll get a higher chance of success, at least that's how in works in the vanilla version. My biggest gripe about Rome II is the diplomacy.

Hi, I'm very new to this game only got on it because of legend. I'm also playing Rome 2 on Grand campaign but the graphic detail on the troops and diplomacy map are different. Can you show me how to change it? The troops icons listed inside the army list are way different
What's the point of doing this mod if all you'll do is auto resolve the battles?

What does the barracks actually do in DEI? It seems like you can recruit the core units even without a barracks unlike the vanilla game.
