You should just let the reinforcement AI fumble onto the field and form up (which is what it was trying to do), then go for your battle, like you say the AI is crap so you have to play ball with it if you want battles that arnt super sloppy looking and more conventional

You dont need a supply ship for your navy, the supply ship is just used to supply armies on land when in foreign territory

Hey, a question to the fellow fighters. I had downloaded the dei part 1-6 , have been updated, now in order to play this, beside to get registered on steamworkshop for alexander, have I also to download manually the 1.25 update from the twc ? or any other dei documents from twc , like 1.24b update ? thanks in advance

This is lowkey making me want to complete another Alexander campaign too, your army gets so juiced, it's awesome. By the final stages of the conquest you can basically go against Arbella level armies with just Alexander.
