I come back to this video every few months, it's probably one of my favorite videos ever uploaded to this site, and I've been here since 2007.
It's just so serene and beautiful. Not only is the aquarium itself gorgeous, but your cinematography is in a league of its own. Really emphasizes all the little details in this small yet complex project. The music, the atmosphere, the lighting, just perfect. I like to imagine a world like this for myself, cozily tucked away behind some leaves in a small aquarium, floating peacefully, away from all the worries of life. One day I will build one of these and I will have you to thank.

This is so beautiful it made me cry. When I was a child I remember keeping goldfish, and they deserved something like this.
I feel so upset when I think that I took a beautiful social creature, transported it in a small plastic bag, then plopped it a small round bowl to live the rest of its days in a distorted world, never again to see another fish or plant :(
I will never again keep another creature unless I can honour it with a beautiful home such as this.

Yes, very sad that people put goldfish in 1 gallon bowls. I did a lot of research and they need 50 gallon just for 1 or 2. This may sound crazy but they have lots of ammonia levels and goldfish get REAL big.

The problem is, building aquariums, terrariums, paludariums, it all requires experience. You're going ot make mistakes to first time. You might fail the first time. It would be impossible to do this good the first time without a LOT of help. We a gotta start somewhere.

I think the title is fair- this is a tank a beginner should be able to accomplish with enough water changing and tooth brush scrubbing. The composition is not difficult either if you get the right statue.

When quarantine is over. Tank will be started. Although I'm always in the hunt for a co2 tank, like a standard one in ebay and just buy the solenoid valve and regulator

About the tank (8/10): I suggest to trim some plants, get a look to your fertilisation program and, unfortunately, be prepared to move the ancistrus to a larger tank, that good boy will grow like a shark... (I use Otocinclus, small but good workers )

The best thing about this video is the editing IMO. Made it look so magical.

    Lesson I already have learned:
Want to take care of your fish?
Do you want a good looking aquarium?
    ...Google aquascaping...
These little fishes have it better than most other fish in bigger tanks.

External filtration, water heating, and 30% water changes weekly... seems like regular levels of maintenance to me...

I get the feeling this guy spends a lot of time on specialty/exotic aquariums. I imagine what he considers low maintenance is regular for beginner's. I also got the feeling he meant you perform very little maintenance but have a nice effect.

The filter he uses is a pretty big one for a aquarium this size, so I assume that it has a pretty long standing time and that he doesnt have to clean it often.
And the heating doesn‘t require any maintenance.
Maybe the water changes, but at a tank this size, thats just 10 liters each week, so it probably isn’t much work for him.
      Seems like pretty low maintenance

The filter is almost the size of the tank lol. It's basically like running a sump
