    i dont think enough people appreciate just how much work goes into one of these videos. not only do you have to process the materials in order to build your creations, you also have to stop and setup cameras, get angles just right and make sure the lighting is correct before you even begin cutting/gluing/shaping etc, and then you have to go back and edit all of the shots and make sure everything stays within continuity...much respect

      He cant because they most likely get modly and dead within the first month. Its not a bioactive paludarium, its just a vivarium. There fore it will most likey die out where it doesnt collect water and mold where it does. Looks great for a week but without any bioactive insects or any filter it will fail. Imagine taking a desktop sized water fountain and stacking chunks of rocks, moss, and dirt on top while the water runs underneath it all. the stack of dirt and moss will continuously be soaked as it dies giving pleanty recourses to fungus ECT. If none of that happens in the first month and you keep up with cleaning and caring for the surface of your "waterfall jungle" eventually youll erode your stacks and it will inevitably fall apart from underneath anyways. If you wanna do this use fake plastic sand/dirt, and fake plants. Anything porous in something like this is equivalent to paying someone for a box filled with bacteria.

      It would be pretty easy to make it good for fish. Making the water feature big enough for fish would be most important. He uses a lot of what many people would use as filter floss already. He just needs to add some type of biological media to the area with the pump... Like sponge or bio balls. I saw in previous videos he uses the same type of silicone used in aquariums and he used aquascaping glue in this build which I would assume is fish safe.

I would be afraid by moving that they collapse. I wondered if it is possible to make it with a lid so that he seal it in and only refills it with water. But i also feel sad to have so much responsibility to keep them alive. Its not just an other orchid. Here we have calcium hard water so it should be destilled water. In a closed aquarium i think it needs less care. He also seems such a down to earth person its amazing.

      It depends. Theres so many variables

    • @andrewsharp4950
      @andrewsharp4950 5 лет назад +3

      I can tell you he's using what's called dragon stone in the U.S. aquascaping community which is at least $3/lb in my experience. What I see there had to be at absolute minimum 7 pounds. But easily more depending on set up. So ~$20 for stone at minimum. Second, if he makes the terrariums himself, the glass isn't super expensive, but he probably buys them, though I didn't notice a brand printed on them. And a specialty item like that could be $160 pretty easily. The pumps could be as cheap as $5, but maybe up to ~$25. The moss looks like he collected and/or cultured it himself. If so, it's not super expensive, but if not, he could be buying it for $3-5 per section you see, so anywhere from free to $100. The glue is just cyanoacrylate, so it really shouldn't be more than $1 or he's being ripped off.
      All in all, with enough experience, the right know how and location in the U.S. that could cost him anywhere between $90 and $350 I'd guess. Coming from my time with aquascaping. Can't speak to prices in Australia though. Could be higher due to the need to ship things that aren't usually for sale there.
