I own a 2002 RSX. The base does not require premium. The rear wiper does not get a lot of use, but when the weather is really bad I'm glad it's there. The rear seats are useful, headroom is minimal, but for short trips for people less than 6' 6" it's tolerable. Car is very reliable. Sound levels are high, and suspension on bad roads is not great. For some reason, headlights bulbs blow out all the time.

See I have a 2006 and when I put regular in mine the check engine light came on. So after I put premium and it doesn’t come on.

Thanks for the insight! That is my bad on the premium part and the car is very reliable from all I have heard.

@@hunterblake6184 Your gas cap probably wasn’t tight or something and triggered the check engine.

@@doctordyl3105looking back you’re probably right lol. But since then I’ve replaced the gas cap.

The headlight bulbs are probably blowing out because you need to put disposable gloves on when installing. the oils from your skin are causing the failures. i had the same problem with my RSX.

I own a 2005 RSX it’s got like 160 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque had it on the dino and mine has 153K miles and drives really well no check engine lights or anything on the dash! Just need new motor and transmission mounts other than that it’s in great shape! My first car under my name is an RSX! I feel accomplished!

The base doesn't require premium, only the Type S.

I own a 2005 honda integra type s from japan it's the 160hp motor, these cars and the acura rsx 160hp come with the k20a3 motor in either 5 speed manual.or automatic, mines 5 speed manual and still.goes really well for what it is ,very reliable, excellent handling very good around town etc with power ,if you want maximum power go for the higher hp type s or type r, also when test driving the manual.see how bad it us changing from 2nd to 3rd it's common issue,

Thank you for that information! These cars are very nice especially when the manual transmission is in place.

Imported type s from Japan is very cool but I'm sure people ask you why. But thats very unique. I would love to see it.

I don’t know if anyone will see this- but what is the best way to go about finding a decent 2006 RSX Type-S? Not looking for modified or nitro.
Backstory: I had a beautiful cared for and well-maintained 2006 RSX Type-S that was totaled in 2018 (hit by a Nissan work truck while stooped at a red light intersection- guy was on the phone and never even slowed down) (yes a part of me died that day). I now have one of the 1st 500 2023 Acura Integras (A-Spec, need that manual transmission!) sold in the U.S. Love it- except the 4-doors. We tried to find another RSX (of any sort) in 2018, no luck. I ended up with only Honda with a manual transmission available in our state- a 2014 CR-Z. I am a dedicated Honda manual transmission or die- I’ve had a 1987 CR-X, a 1991 CR-X HF, a 2001 Integra, and a 2002 RSX, in all. (If you read all that, my thanks!).
*TLDR: I know what I’m looking for, I just don’t know how to find it.*

The problem is that most have been overmodified, raced, or wrecked. My 2006 has only 35k miles. Has never seen salt (I made it a promise when I bought it new) Looks stock. Short shifter kit. Injen intake. Mild hondata ecu flash. Borla exhaust. Michelin pilot tires. I get offers all the time, but I’ll never sell it.

I saw one for 5,000$. Thinking about picking it up but it’s got around 180,000 miles but with no other problems as far as I can tell. Should I go for it?

    • @StandingTallAutoReviews

That’s not bad at all! Most of these do tend to have higher miles due to their age. If it looks like it is in good shape and has been taken care of then I would give it a shot. If you are able to do so you could possibly work them down a little bit on the price. If not 5000 in this market is not bad for that car.

I've got an '02 with over 222,000 miles. Engine is still in good shape. Car is in good shape, but I would say I've spent almost $15k for major repair to keep her running. I still drive mine all the time, it's a good car.

I bought my 02 for $3200. It has 210k and has never let me down. Only thing of significance it needed was 02 sensors, valve cover gasket, and tires. Overall don’t let the mileage scare you on one of these. You may run into some common issues such as the 02 sensors, but other than that definitely a solid car and with proper maintenance will last you forever.

I own a 2005 type s with a k24/k20 build with many bolt on such as full exhaust, rbc manifold ported, 72mm throttle body, hondata v2, 9lb light flywheel with stage 2 clutch kit and LSD, rdx injectors with skunk center fed fuel rail, bc coilovers, upgraded suspension components, maybe pushing around 300hp getting about 26mpg on premium not hitting vtec and I’m loving it as a daily with 150k+
