I think brig would be really good if they gave her 1 of 3 things coming from a brig main 1. Give her back a stun doesn't have to be really any duration even if it's like .001 sec I feel like I lost my ability to help team like just like when reaper drops down or stop hog from healing or stuff like that 2. Give something similar to what queen got but maybe like if brig gets killing blow let me instantly give and receive all the healing for inspire right then 3. Now that armor is gone let me let me over heal again with armor pack so that we can be more preventive healing vs reactive healing doesn't have to give instantly but just let it overheal
the battle for Olympus as a concept sounds good. it just a problem the game mode just does not feel fun and gets boring very quickly. it could bee a well done workshop mod for all i know

The Wound heals on Kill is probably a lot more significant than you'd think paired up with higher uptime on Carnage and more wound from Gracie. She is honestly SO close to being a viable monster of rush aggression, and with some slightly higher incoming self healing she might start showing Damage roles what real damage is. Also the Zarya change was an obvious fix to her trouble keeping a good energy flow with the nerf to bubble uptime without bringing back uber Bubbles.
Junker queen is fine and balanced as is. Zarya is fine and as balanced as she's ever been too. Blizzard is the most incompetent company I've ever seen when it comes to balancing and game polish.
I think what Brig really needs in a buff is quicker armor pack time or more armor slots. I main flex role(so Support pretty much XD) and play Brig a pretty good amount and I understand that armor management plays a role in Brig's skill ceiling but it sucks when I have multiple teammates that need healing and I cant heal them because I dont have anymore packs and dont wanna put myself at risk to activate passive. I think Brig's constantly compared to the monster she used to be which is why a lot of people call her bad but the only thing shes really bad at is consistently healing.
She needs more health packs, or health packs have to heal more. Even if you win the team fight, if your other support dies, your team will be starved for healing. Especially if there’s nothing by to proc inspire.
I would like to see a return of the armor packs rather than the basic health pack, now that brig is completely out of a nich and probably one of the worst characters in the game. It will give people actual reason to play her because now she feels completely outclassed by most of the support. brig has less range, way less healing output, barely any utility to her team as she can no longer destroy divers and has to put herself at risk to give any value without the defensive stats to do so. Compare that with kiriko that out heal every other hero in the game with super long range and barely needing to aim, can two shot most characters and it's not even that hard to land, can avoid any danger whenever she wants despite never putting herself in danger, and have massive utility with her suzu. And we wonder why she is outperforming every support beside lucio
I never played OW 1 so when I saw brig I was expecting her to be the support version of Rein. The only thing I could ask for is that whatever health Rein shield is, Brig’s should flat out be half of it. 300 shield is irrelevant if multiple people focus you. I wanted her to be a support that could stand on the front lines with a tank but you gotta have such a specific comp just to make her work
Disagree. She needs fewer repair packs that do more healing. This way you don't throw them at everyone like candy. Being forced into proc'ing inspire is a good thing because positioning and shield usage are skills required to keep inspire going. Making repair pack easier to use will only lower the skill floor even further. She needs to be making decisions to be more fun to play.
When looking at tank design, consider that a tank is a character who needs to convince the enemy team to shoot at them. despite the tank being the worst target. So Junker Queen's axe cooldown buff makes her an extreme threat if she's left alone near multiple of your teammates for any period of time. That should make her draw more fire - and the healing buffs should help her survive it.

Here's a thing that the patch notes don't mention: Right now, Kiriko's Swift Step cannot cleanse her of status effects. It's not clear if that's a deliberate nerf they failed to communicate or a bug.

They reduced the burst damage and have more bleed damage, but the effects of that bleed damage means that if you combo the knife with carnage and a quick melee, you'll still instantly kill your enemy, but now you're getting 30+40+15 *1.25 healing guaranteed. It's a massive buff to her self sustainability disguised as a nerf to burst damage.
Yeah it's not as much of a nerf as Stylosa might think. Yeah it's nerfing her overall damage output, but that's because they had to change Gracie to make the new Over-Bleed Healing viable. With the buff to Gracie's Bleed AND the fact that it can stack means that, theoretically, Junker Queen won't NEED all the front-loaded damage anymore. Especially if you're playing Hyper-Aggressive. All you have to do is stack all of your bleed onto one target and burn hat one target down and, theoretically, you'll be nigh-on unkillable if you're being pocketed by, say, a Mercy or a Zen. What this also means is that Junker Queen is, probably, going to be more reliable on the rest of her team since her ability to actually kill anyone just got rather largely nerfed. The big problem with this change and why, in the end, this MIGHT become a rather large net nerf is the fact that Gracie's Bleed is a Direct Impact Bleed. That means if you want to actually be viable with Gracie, you MUST be 100% accurate with it. You can't do sneaky things like throw Gracie behind the enemy and summon Gracie through them for damage. The amount of damage Gracie will do on return won't be worth it any longer. With this one change, they just raised the skill floor and ceiling of Junker Queen. However, if you're nigh-on point-blank range, it should be pretty easy to land an Impact Shot with Gracie on your target, especially if that target is a Tank. I think this is going to be one of those situations where Junker Queen is going to be Super Tanky and nigh-on unkillable at the higher ranks because they have the skill to reliably land Gracie Impacts for Over-Bleed Healing, but is going to be nigh-on unplayable at the lower ranks because they don't have the skill to reliably hit those Gracie Impacts and, thus, will die quickly and horribly due to the severe reduction of overall damage output. Those are my initial predictions anyway. We'll have to wait and see.
@@LosrSquad reread, you missed the added part. Knife + carnage + quick melee will be enough to finish most heroes without a pocket healer. And if they took any damage before you begin, it'll one shot a lot of things.
@@ForeverDegenerate I think if we look at the knife in a vacuum, it'll be harder to land kills with it, but it'll give you more self sustain for sure. However, with that massive buff to carnage, I think her real skill ceiling was lowered. You can basically spam carnage so much more efficiently, that even if the knife does a little bit less damage up front, your overall damage output will be way higher.
I can deal with losing in OW, but what gets me is when I get completely rolled 3 games in a row. If I actually feel like I'm in the same ball park as my opponents then losing doesn't feel so bad, but when I'm getting spawn camped or we never even stop the objective from progressing for more than a second it kills my desire to keep playing.

I know how you feel. I got on the game to do my challenges, hoping to get quick tier levels for the BP.... 5-6 game losses later, I got my first win. :,,,) The matchmaking SUCKS! I'm either on a team set to lose, throwers, or I fill in to a losing game which still counts against my mmr. So unfair. Whether it's qp or comp, I get joke teammates or heavy sweats on the enemy team with ximmers. I can't even solo que. Made it to masters support tier 4 with a 5 stack group. The passion I had for this game is tragically depleting rapidly.
That damage orb buff is actually more of a Moira healing buff then a damage buff and one I’ve wanted as a Moira player for a while. Moira is capable of a high amount of healing believe it or not, but man she can really run out of healing juice fast if her team is taking excessive damage. This buff means she’s gonna run out a lot less. She’s going to be rewarded for dealing damage by gaining more healing potential which we can all admit is a good shift. Now whether my beloved Junkerqueen is still bad remains to be seen.
Yeah when I play Moira I usually herded my team into a chokepoint and just spammed the healing orb. This buff just means I can take my eyes away from the lower right corner for a bit to actually do stuff.
Yep, now she can more feasibly use damage orb as primary damage source with healing piss as main healing source. Before I would find myself forced to use healing orb, but that meant I was already out of healing juice and the heal orb was last resort.
It's definitely an awesome and necessary buff, I love that people are complaining about it as soon as they see the word damage. In no way does it benefit her damage, only her healing. I've wanted this for her ever since I started playing her, in fact I didn't understand why she wasn't able to do it in the first place lol. And it's not even that much charge back, so yeah it's a fair buff for her
The matchmaking balance I think was mostly to decrease the wait times but it backfired and it sucks getting rolled or rolling the enemy every time. The biggest issues I run into are a good hit scan on the other team tends to be the biggest factor in if you get rolled or not. In lower ranks anyway.
As a support main, I was hoping the roadhog change would be today, I hate it when I'm literally behind my whole team and somehow the enemy roadhog hooks and one shots me :[
I also like that the final reward for completing the event achievements is the Winged Victory Mercy skin... which is a very old OW1 skin. At the very least they could have swapped it with one of the new skins and put the Mercy skin in the shop (maybe even for a slightly reduced price since it's so old).
I was wondering AITA because i have frequently complained that the recent games were so unbalanced, so I was glad to hear you say that. This week, many of the games i played involved a complete steamroll. In several escort maps, the payload either never moved, or never paused. Most control maps were done after two short rounds. Because the game is so good at filling empty slots as the game runs, you only know that you lost the game, but not that (over the course of the game) 18 people left your team and were replaced. I have been on the winning and losing side of these matches, and i agree that winning is great, but these games just leave you frustrated, win OR lose.
I'm a Moira main(no not a dps moira) and this change is actually huge. I've always wanted this change. I played JQ at the launch and one tricked her for awhile but she kept getting steam rolled by hog, dva, orissa, and sigma with his poke. This update is very helpful and it's definitely a push but idk if it's enough.
Yeah, this buff/quality of life change is actually pretty helpful, so instead of fading into the enemies that are far away to replenish your biotic energy, you can just throw a damage orb, which also means you do not have to leave your team and get to stay with them.
Yeah it doesn’t seem like dps moira would care about this change at all since it just replenishes the resource you use to heal. It will help a Moira who is healing but can’t refill fast enough.
It's not enough it's only good on certain small Los maps she needs a primary fire buff her shotgun is a fuckin pea shooter. Also take a second or 2 off her shout
ML7 has tested JQ Carnage and has stated to be broken. Destructible objects will count towards resets(rails, ice wall and barriers). So if brig and rein both has their shield up while carnage is used then the cooldown is 100% refunded. it is possible to get 100% cooldown by hitting mei’s ice wall if you drag the skill like rein’s melee(works on both enemy and allied mei ice wall).

I really want them to add back Brig's stun. I know it goes against their ethos of removing CC, but I think it would be so valuable to her kit and reenforce her original role as a support who could do more DPS than most other supports. Don't even make it a stun, just make it so the enemy's abilities are interrupted.
They're not even removing stuns. Look at doomfist. All they've done is move cc to the tank role. It makes cc more annoying since the tank wants to get in your face. Backliners with a short range cc are only a problem if you overextend.
I'm so glad that you pointed out that there seems to be something wrong with matchmaking. I also noticed that. I'm plat 5 and yesterday I had a match where all of my teammates were silver, but the enemy team cosisted of mostly gold 1. Why? I don't understand. I also hope they bring back that you can actually see the ranks of players again, because I was only able to see this out of pure luck that all of them had their profile on public.
Yeah I don't really understand the change of hiding the ranks, because every time I hop into a competitive match I don't know who I'm playing against. They claim it's to prevent cyberbullying but literally everyone is in the same rank anyway? If I'm plat I'm not going to make fun of my own teammate for also being plat, it makes zero sense. They made changes to the game that literally nobody asked for, lol. Like why is Mystery Heroes in the unranked section of the game instead of Arcade? Who asked for that change to be made?
Keep in mind, rank doesn't correspond to your mmr either. It's just an emblem, it doesn't actually mean anything. When they do their "soft mmr resets" they're actually resetting your sr, not your mmr. Since they match off your mmr the reset doesn't actually do anything.
Just you wait guys. The next update will have an all new "collectors" feature! Where for every cosmetic item you own for a hero, it increases their maximum hp, dmg, and movement speed by 0.8% each!
Competitive is quite bad recently. The last 20 matches I played was one sided and awful to play, or my team won not giving a chance to the other team or the the rival team was doing the same. Even in some matches that was 4 VS 5 the team with 4 there was not contest. On those 20 matches, people quit in 19 and in several matches, people quit when the first point was capture or the first round was lost and in unexpected cases when the team was winning and people just left, like 2 or 3 for the same team. Interestingly enough, when I am below the 50% win rate, I join a team which dominate the match, and when I am above 50% I am joining teams which will be destroyed by the other team. Another thing that I am not getting is that, in the first season I manage to reach GOLD, from Bronze. And when this season started, I was back to bronze. And it is quite hard to go back to gold again. Like, I won 7 in 10 matches and got Bronze 2, then I won 7 in 12 and wen up to Bronze 1, 7 in 11 and moved to Silver 4 , and I am in the same trend and I am stuck in Silver 3, actually going to 4, back on 3, keep on 3. This is quite confusing and hard to understand what I am doing wrong, like I won 7 in 7 and I got Silver 2 and I am stuck.
My main issue with comp is definitely how often it displays rank changes. Ultimately it's still using the same SR system behind the scenes, so it updates every time you gain ~175 SR. That means that (assuming you never lose) you'll spend hours of gameplay only to see your rank go up one or two divisions. I was usually comfortably lingering in Diamond before the MMR reset, so now that it's started me in silver, it's going to take me weeks to get back to that rank in each of the roles. I am decimating most players I'm matched with and regularly see players with the diamond challenger flair, but my rank still only goes up by one division every 2 - 3 hours of gameplay, which kind of makes me feel like I'm spending a lot of time for very little gain or recognition. They either need more divisions per rank, more volatile SR changes or to show a rank update every time your rank changes. The lack of feedback just makes it feels like a waste of time.
Silver? Where'd you end your season? And did you get a losing streak that didn't hit the threshold to show up before the season ended? Ending plat should put you in gold 5.
@@Cloud7050 I'm not talking about the partial rank reset; I'm talking about the MMR reset they performed when OW2 came out. So I was Diamond in every role in OW1, my MMR got reset with everyone else's and now it's ranked me as silver... Despite still consistently putting me against plat and diamond players. Although the low rank isn't really new. I had at least 5 accounts on OW1, and every single account started me as a silver tank (My best role), A gold healer (a close second) and a plat DPS (A role I barely deserve bronze in). It's more just annoying that it'll take me so long to recover my rank.
@@SamuraiPipotchi I see. It does suck that they lump such a wide range of players together in ranked. Like if you're gold, you could have a mix of bronzes and diamonds together which is totally off whack.
Junker Queen is currenly also the Janker Queen, as her Carnage changes let her get reduced cooldowns from hitting railings, monitors, barriers and Mei walls (both friendly and hostile). If you hit a blocking Reinhardt or Brigitte with Carnage, you get double the cooldown reduction.
I'm really glad you're actually talking about this @stylosa. I was Dia Tank/Support in OW2 - now i'm currently Gold 3 Support and have a 45% win rate with Ana. I don't know what my tank win rate is - but it's shit. As of the start of this week, I won 4 games out of 25. The games that I did win were absolute and unequivocal destruction. Games I lost were from throwers, leavers, and free to play DPS that literally can't kill anything. One game on King's row, managed to cap the first point in overtime. Tank (me, sigma), 9-1. Everyone else had at least 4 deaths, our support were decent at healing, but our pharah had 834 damage with a K/D of 0-8. First point. Capped in Overtime. I had 3 ults, and pharah had 0 I think. The other DPS wasn't much better but not completely terrible. Naturally we lost the game. I'll be the first to admit I'm no longer a diamond tank or support, but I'm playing gold and getting absolutely smashed all the time. Every game seems to have absolutely 'terrible' players. And I can't figure out why this seems to usually be my team (yes yes, talk about how "i'm the only consistent thing between the games" so it must be me... of course. But it's not.) A day before I played against 3 off role plasters players, who were dia or plat on their off roles. While my team are rocking gold-3s. Matchmaking sucks, rewards suck, 5v5 sucks, literally every single thing except the graphics is worse than Overwatch1. Give me double shield and spam any day. Give blizzard some credit though, the event that's currently on is f*cking AMAZING! Comp queue with less heroes. GG.
I'm in a weird boat where I was mid plat last season, and started this season gold 5. I know this happened to everyone and so the idea is that you still get matched into your appropriate mmr so it's mostly a cosmetic change but... Here's the kicker, I took a break to play other games so I'm presumably mid plat mmr but I'm still gold 5 which lets me party with my legitimate bronze friends. We've had the most insane 1 sided games where it seems like we either get into a plat mmr game or a bronze mmr game.
Same, I had trouble queuing with friends, (we would play a couple games then couldn’t que together anymore, then after 1 solo game could que again) but now because of the completely visual decay we can que again, and games feel even more unbalanced.
Totally agree about the matchmaking. Half the time you get a teammate or two who are totally below your skill level and the other team just rolls you because you’re basically playing 3 or 4 on 5. I had a game last night where I went 24-4 on tank and we lost because my dps had 11 and 12 deaths each. Literally lost my first 5 games last night and each game I had either a tank that was feeding, a dps that was getting rolled, or a support that did no healing. They increased the SR range to decrease queue times but the result is the games are unbalanced and one team is usually getting rolled.
Around the start of the year, I noticed my quick play matchmakes were suddenly totally off whack and there were also a lot of leavers. Not sure what happened, but the skill difference between teammates feels very big now. As a support main, basically if your dps are throwing, the match can't be won because nothing dies. Feels pretty awful so I usually play one or two matches and then decide to stop. That or I just stick to competitive, but I'm not always in the mood for that intense a game.

my argument about the store is: if you make the skins a fair bit cheaper like lets say 700 coins for example it would be more likely that more people would buy them getting you that same profit in the long run, but the way they price things now i feel boils down more to the fact that we may not see the skins ever again so there is this inflated sense of rarity to them. Just an idea tho
The rotating nature is absolutely designed to create urgency. If you've been eyeing a skin for your fave for a long while, as soon as it comes up you have to count both the monetary value and the potential to not get that skin available again for who knows how long. 100% by design lol
They are not worth the price they are what so ever. The quality control on them is dogshit. Model inconsistency, “sales” , bugged cosmetics (Genji since launch is my source), and reselling old content that doesn’t hold a candle to newer stuff. For example Gold weapons weapon on Genji’s OW1 default swords have been broken since OW2’s launch and now they are expecting people to buy resells of Nihon and Carbon fibre etc. The new “bauble” emotes they added are also broken for him. When you do any of them (which are 700 credits) it spawns in the floor. Like it’s just sad, if they are gonna be overpriced at least have some quality.
Orisa is a decent counter to hog, use the spear to stop his breather and the Spin to get in his face if he hooks a teammate. Doesn't help that he's still just absurdly strong at the moment, but it's a way that can't really get cleansed away
@@atlgameslayergaming The weekly challenges ONLY count Wins, so people leave the moment they feel the game is lost. Also the penalties for leaving are almost non-existent, especially in quickplay/arcade.

They leave because they are not having fun, and no reward the game will give them other than dopamine is not worth the pain of a bad game where you have no impact. Just watch a movie instead. Find another game. You could spend the next 5m trying to salvage the pieces of this one, or could instead spend that time finding another game/ starting a new activity.
Comp is very much broken and one sided. Although sometimes you do get games where both teams are equal. Yesterday on Blizzard world the enemy team almost got to the final point but we held it, and at the end of the round it was just 4 of us. The thing is, in defense, we were 4 the entire round, we won😐 with Orisa, soldier, mercy, moira, we won. We obviously were super tryhard at that point but right after that we got a match where we got steamrolled
I've noticed the comp matchmaking as well. I'll get games where we completely role the enemy team with 20 kills plus, meanwhile the enemy has under 8 kills. Then I'll get a game where the complete opposite occurs.
Wow. You can really tell that there's a new boss in charge of balancing, because these sound like actually sane, reasonable changes made by someone who has at least a basic understanding of this game's characters and the people who play them. It's good to see the devs try a new balancing m.o. other than the usual _"Increase damage and nerf defenses! Everything can be fixed by throwing more damage at the problem!"_
I was pleasantly surprised to see 1-2 reasonable changes instead of "WE WANTED TO MAKE DOOMFIST BETTER SO WE'VE GIVEN HIM 5 NERFS, 23 BUFFS, NERFED ALL OF HIS COUNTERS AND GAVE HIM 3 EXTRA INCHES OF DIC PURELY BC WE CAN" type changes they normally do

@Northside904 yea its stupid even for the voice lines ... 25 ult kills is 7x25 = 175 assuming u get 5 per games that's a minimum of 35 matches just for the voice lines
It would be great if Brigitte could be able to shoulder bash while her shield is down. Half knockback and damage (or none at all), but that would be so useful for mobility purposes.
The thing about the changes to Junker Queen’s Jagged Edge is that the added DoT means even more healing if you get the pick on whoever she hits. So less burst damage, higher sustain potential. So she’s got huge potential to stick around as long as your team can follow up on her as an initiator.
Been telling my friends she needs 2 things 1. Increased shield, I was thinking 350, but 300 is something. 2. An ult change... Her ult, currently, is pretty much nothing, and really a selfish ult since she's the only one who gets a movement speed boost. She needs something new and fresh

Kinda wish the wound healing on a dead target would heal you in a burst instead of just continuing the agonizingly slow wound healing but rly great buffs otherwise EDIT: it actually DOES work like this, the wording just did not explain it very well lol. If you kill someone with the impact damage from carnage or any other ability including her ultimate the wound damage that it wouldve given you is granted immediately upon their death. Feels so good actually rly great change.
At least now you get value, compared to before where you'd barely get any heals at all. I just had a comp match as her and got something like 1,500 healing, compared to pre-patch 700 or so at most.
They really needed to tone down hog or orisa just a little. As a top 500 ball player, I'm tired of losing games just because they have a hog or orisa and my team doesn't. Also I was really hoping for a small ball buff. Something to make ball less of a throw pick.😔 .... I know everyone is just saying you're throwing your games don't pick ball. I have a positive win rate on ball and playing hog and orisa is boring. Merely my own opinion.
same with the ball, imo ball is kinda on the edge of being pretty playable. just one tweak would help. 75 boop dmg, 1sec orisa gold state after you press e, lesser dmg falloff for piledriver, idk anything at that point xD
I think a good change they could make to brig is to allow her to repair her shield with the repair kits. She pulls out her shield, presses the repair kit button and then it repairs half her shield health back. It could help a lot with her survivability
You shouldn’t be using your shield for anything but bash and burst damage like widow or hanzo during a rotation, you’re not meant to tank with it. If you’re frequently in a position where 125 shield health is more important than healing your team, it’s time to switch heroes
@@themostdiabolicalhater5986 I also sometimes use it to stand in front of squishies. It great to shield McCree for high noon or something like that in a pinch. 😅👍🏻 just like, you know, small open opportunities to protect someone.

Always said the ONLY difference between Ranked and Quickplay is that one tracks numbers and the other doesn't. The same toxic behaviors happen regardless of which game mode you are in. leavers, toxic enemies and teamates, throwers, etc. some examples I've had in ranked were, healers that refuse to heal specific teamates due to some petty arguement, or even refuse to heal anyone except their 1 friend they grouped with, people throwing because they didn't get the hero they wanted to play, the worse i had was my whole team throwing a match by just sitting in spawn the entire match and i was the only person going out to try and stop the enemy team/ they literally just sat on the payload and rode it all the way to the end because there's nothing 1 person can do to a whole enemy team by themselves. But people still try to treat quickplay like it's the "safezone to be toxic" but all that does is encourage and reinforce toxic behaviors in the player base that carries to other modes outside of just quickplay. I say when people are toxic in any gamemode report them.
I can tell ya right now as a sorta jq main currently, hog is actually ridiculous easy to kill as jq, what you gotta do is just run around in circles around them whilst melleeing after every attack, you will almost always outheal and out damage hog by doing this unless they are getting pocketed
i really like the moira change. sometimes you'll run out of grasp heal and have to waste a heal orb to get people above thresholds. throwing damage now can accomplish the same goal while generating more ult charge + threatening backline
Question: Is there a balance philosophy for Blizzard that they never go back to other variations of a character? They really think about reworking brigitte completely instead of maybe reverting some changes they made to her in overwatch 1? The second game changed so much stuff already, maybe part of her old balance kit actually works with it, without feeling OP.
I don't understand why they aren't pushing out rebalance updates constantly. Obviously I'm not a game dev but is it much more complicated than changing a few numbers in code to make these changes? Especially when it comes to damage/health/cooldown numbers? I wish they would explain how they do this, it seems so strange to me why they aren't changing things faster especially in the current One-shot meta we're in right now. I mean cool these changes seem reasonable but they could've at least said on the notes "Hey we know Hog and Sojourn are still problems right now and we're working on it.".
It's because of crossplay. Changing the code doesn't take that long, but testing it and then publishing the changes to all the different platforms (which might require to work with teams outside of Blizzard) delays things by a lot. The balance is terrible though, there's no way they didn't catch these glaring issues during QA, and I do agree that these are problems that are urgent because they're causing the game to bleed players like crazy, especially with the PvE stuff nowhere in sight.

As a flex player, Brig is actually my favorite Support, just above Kiriko. I tend to rack up good numbers all while actually helping push objectives, defend objectives, heal teammates, and partake in team fights. The shield buff sounds okay enough, it's actually surprising how well a 250 shield can keep you safe when it's just big enough to cover your body; I just hope her shield recharge time stays the same, since I don't remember if it's based on shield health per second or percent per second. I really hope they don't totally rework her, but I admit some more buffs would be very nice to have. Her shield bash, if not whipshot as well, should totally stun for a second, and could honestly have more knockback and damage. Her repair packs could heal faster/more/for longer, for example, and she could carry more and/or have a faster cool down on them. Her Inspire passive could be better, especially considering her limited attack range to actually proc it, her flail could maybe get a range and/or damage buff, and maybe some slight tweaks to her ult. I don't want anything crazy, just a tune-up all-around so that even the people who say "Brig is objectively the worst support" like my friends won't be able to say that anymore. For all the fun I have and all the games I've helped win/turn around by playing as or switching to her, I still constantly hear nothing but slander against her, and I'd like that to change (just not to a point where basically anyone can dominate just by picking her like with Roadhog lol).
It seems you will want to in the future with Junker Queen to use gracie to pull the backline toward the front line to get max heals and then use the axe.
I solved the competitive issue in a simple way: i just quick play and have fun from now on. The game is nice when you don't care about winning or losing but just make good plays with your character.
I think the main thing of the jagged blade 30 wounds damage is the synergy with wounds allowing all heals after the target is gone. That makes the jagged blade pretty impressive for healing up, even at killing blows. Carnage on the other hand has a huge cooldown, so I doubt it's spammable unless you somehow hit all 5
It's cd is cut in half when you hit 2 people. It's quite spammable in any sort of group. Since it's rare that it misses, this effectively dropped it from an 8s cd to a 6s cd.
If the enemy has a hog, the best class to play into him isn't a another hog, but Orisa. 2 of her abilities negate he hook completely and mitigate his ult substantially, and the spear cancels his healing
I think maybe a solution (just a crude one that doesn't require a huge overhaul) for Push maps is to make the winner simply either the team who pushed the Robot to the end of the map, or the team who pushed the payload the most distance *overall*. So rather than the game only counting your push as progress once the robot finally makes it back to your barricade, it instead counts the entire jaunt back to the barricade as progress added to your "total distance pushed". Maybe instead of the light jog/sprint the robot does, you can just have him push one single barricade, so then that way you're not getting a crazy ton of distance from his runs.
I played OW1 for years straight, hit rank 130 in OW2 season 1 and I quit right after. I don't plan on returning, I haven't played in over a month. I only play competitive and they completely killed the game for me and this is someone that actually loved playing sojourn, became my fav character very quickly. But there's no reward for playing comp anymore.. what am I even playing for? I want to see peoples ranks in the game.. I want to see my SR change every game.. it's so boring how it's set up. I am excited for the PvE to come out and that's when I'll give the game a shot again. They completely ruined the PvP in that game for me.
They need to make Dva's ultimate louder. I seriously sometimes can't hear it over the noise of battle. Maybe I'm deaf, but it often goes unnoticed until the last second when it hits the ground next to me.
The Junker Queen getting healed for the remaining duration even when a target dies should really have been obvious, I think. If anything, I'd go with Warframe rules on that. If your target dies with bleed on the, insta-heal the Queen for whatever damage was left on the clock, rather than waiting for the counter. That rewards her for kills and allows her to build up momentum. Reducing the cooldown on the axe is also a good idea. At its current cooldown, it's ostensibly a gimmick - the kife does far more work. Being able to trip it more frequently actually makes for a more active playstyle. I get that Blizzard don't want to make another melee-only character (so another Reinhardt), but that really does feel like how the Queen should play.
I always felt with competitive, if your team gets a leaver, the remaining players have a stat increase to make up for the loss of a player and you still maintain a fighting chance. And Mei... She was such an amazing Hog counter. Granted, Mei's ability to isolate hog and Ana's nade still can make him can occur the same effect.

Even if that were true, lets say someone created a smurf account, it would be a 1 trick for a single win, and not saying the boost would be big, something like a 5% or 10% armor boost. Something enough to increase survivability of the remaining players and lets say there's a cap with a 10% armor leaver buff.

When I saw Brig in the thumbnail I was very happy, cuz I like playing Brig but she needs a massive buff, only to find out that LITERALLY ALL THEY DID is give her slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY more HP to her shield AND THAT'S IT
Every thing you’ve said is true about competitive. This type of comp is what leaves us stuck in a rank or demoted. I feel like some players I get matched with when I loose aren’t gold/ plat players they don’t play like it.
Talking about the matchmaking: Just yesterday I had my 1st ever rage quit from OW, since I started playing in 2017. I literaly dont play anything else but competitive. Only play QP or Arcade if Im with friends, and they wanna try someting new or just legit chill w/o playing super hardcore. Even when the events asked me to play arcade or something else to get a skin or w/e that cant be aquired from lootboxes, I just played the other gamemodes till I have the item I wanted. This new xmas event, where they "gave" you a Brigitte skin, I FINALLY decided to get the skin literally the last day of the event (which a lot of people did too, btw), and at 1st I thought "Oh ok, I just gotta play 6 gamemodes from the event and I should get it" before realizing after 2-3 games that the way to aquire the skin is by completing CHALLANGES that the event gave me (sounds stupid, ik, but for me, OW just gave me stuff from playing, not completing tasks). And after 2 hours of trying to get the challanges (which I couldnt, cuz people wanted to do the 15 thaw allies thing, while others didnt care for stuff and just wanted to win and move along), barely completing 2, I got salty by all the stuff you had to do to get the skin (which again, my fault, had the entire event to get the skin, but I didnt expect to have to do more stuff than just play a match), so I skipped over it. I decided to play competitive, cuz even if Im depressed and what not, or had a bad day. And even if I lose all the matches that I played, it was super fun, that I felt relaxed afterwards. It was my stress reliever, even if I lost, like I said. I didnt care, playing was fun. Winning or lossing. But now, its 70% matches where you get curvestomped by a team of a rank bracket higher than yours. 25% matches where your team were throwing, or their team was throwing, and 5% actual good matches that felt good and balanced, even if you lose. So after being midly salty from not acquiring the Brigitte skin cuz it was way more complicated to get a "free" skin than it used to, plus the fact that people doesnt care or doesnt now; going to competitive and being greeted with matches where your team was throwing (or legit "noobs" that barely understand positioning, which Im not against, but dont play comp until you feel you add value to your teammates by not dying or being out of place), where the other team had diamonds or higher (Im low plat, btw), and just complete unbalanced matchmaking. It made me feel sad, upset and angry when I closed the game cuz I wasnt having fun. After 5 years of playing this, almost everyday. Always have it installed on my PC cuz it was my go-to game when I didnt knew what else to play or do. Even after never reaching Diamond when I was so close (2850 on tank one season). Going from High Plat to Low Gold the last few weeks of OW. Getting matches agaisnt smurfs, boosters, or Diamonds carrying their Silvers buddies, I never felt bad after a session of OW. Until yesterday. And it makes me sad that is backloggin lower in my "what can I play" list, just for how bad its getting. I even stopped caring about the free premium currency every week after the 2nd week, for making me play Arcade, or having challanges that are hard to understand (I might be stupid, which I am; but making you play 10 games on 2 different roles, but not tell you which roles has what number of games is stupid). This "OW2" kept the "The sequel is worst than the 1st" trend.... which honeslty, I feared from day 1 of hearing about it. Thanks for reading my rant, if you did
Gotta say something about one sided matchmaking. That was a core problem in the orgininal overwatch. The Time To Kill was too short in the game so a single misplay or good play from anyone could win the match in an instant. Back then we actually had a second tank to at least somewhat turn around the fight to a tug of war instead of having an instant one sided stomp. Overwatch 2 has not changed the time to kill enough to matter and now with one less tank in each group you see those stomps far more often. The leaderborad being there also helps to see you being part of a team stomping the other one, while back then a one sided match was only noticeable, when you were not able to contribute to the team that was stomping the other side. Back then you felt like you did nothing but won anyway, or it felt like you had a really good game and the other side was not able to outplay you. Now the leaderborad can tell you "yeah those poor guys did not get to play. Had fun with that?" We could add to that the people who rarely play the game, but to be honest we also have a lot of new players who grind the free seasons pass and those also have 100+ hours in the game and with it the experience. With that amount of playtime in this rather short amount of time the game is out, it's difficult to be a noob.
Regarding matchmaking, it doesn't help that every 2nd game is push and that mode is almost always a stomp either way. They really need to stop forcing the increased frequency of new maps.
The Moira change is actually OK, it gives no value to dps Moira's cuz they're not gonna heal allies so it doesn't matter 😂 As a healer Moira main, this is what I've wanted for a while, being able to just get a little bit of biotic energy back from the damage orb. When you're out of healing charge, it can be annoying and risky to try and leech it back off of an enemy, and now (if no one needs too much healing cuz then you'd just use your healing orb) you can chuck out your damage orb to leech biotic energy at a safe range and heal your team more efficiently. The more biotic energy, the better. Some people don't seem to understand (dps Moira's) that Moira's healing is actually really good
Honestly, I haven't been on overwatch in a while purely because how often I get spawn campt. It's not fun when you just can't get out of spawn for the duration of the game and honestly makes me groan when I find out im playing escort for this specific reason. I don't leave game, but I don't play anymore because this happens to often for my liking.
Matchmaking wise I think the matchmaker was fine when so many people where playing it at launch but now that the player base has settled a bit and there is just a lot of old players leaving again it doesn't expect the less people so match making becomes worse.
I noticed that in the stomp matches there seem to be lower rank player in one of the teams. Master/Grandmaster match and one of the dps players is let's say silver. On forums lots of people kept saying for longest time that it means their mmr is high, that they are playing better than their rank. To give example, is Silver 2 with 30% win rate good enough to land in master lobby? At this point it's pretty much a coin flip, even more brutal flip than attack/defence one back in early Overwatch 1.

Here me out here, we add a very quick stun back to brigs shield bash that is no longer than like 0.1 second to where we can stop some of the overwhelming pressure on support. Just a thought
had a match where opponents got a master main tank player, and our team got a never placed tank gold dps main with 20 minutes on orisa and 10 on sigma in his entire carreer; don't get why we have to tell our friend to leave the formation due to rank gap when during matchmaking we end up with people with their same rank
For a new player in Silver I can’t even get games that finish because everyone leaves first fight and it ruins the game for the rest of the players that are trying to win and increase in skill. They definitely need to look into a more punishing system
Comp matchmaking is really bad right now, idk if it's my luck or intentional, I would get a great team for a few match resulting in easy win, then suddenly I get newbie/stubborn players that refuse to cooperate in my team while the enemy have grandmaster/diamond players resulting being sweep by enemy(I am gold/plat 5 player). It's getting really frustrating everytime this happens.
The more time goes on, the more obvious it becomes that 5v5 was a MASSIVE, irreversible mistake to the game's balance. Solo tank formats will always result in lopsided hero matchups, which compounds poor matchmaking overall.
I forget her name but a streamer suggested that brig should get the armor packs that her dad used to have and lore wise it would make sense because she's a squire and a trained blacksmith. But cap the armor at 50 which would solve a lot of the one shot problems while also forcing cooperation between the team judging who needs it vs who has the least armor.
The matchmaker is so garbage that I've met dozens of people I would have previously been a hundred percent certain are smurfing or boosted, only to discover that they actually are the rank I think they are on the account they're playing on and have just been placed in the same lobby as me for some insane reason.
You just nailed it. The whole reason I'm not having fun with OverWatch is because there's no rewards in the game they took all the skins (rewards) and put them into the shop so you no longer have to earn them you just have to buy them. I'm no longer playing OverWatch because not exactly fun to play when you don't get anything to earn. Which feeds into the fact that I'm not going to buy an overwatch skin if I'm not going to play the game.
The more I think about it the more I think it's imperative they nerf Kiriko. Kiriko is just out performing every other support at most thing she does excey for lucio speed boost. People are complaining about suzu being strong but it's the tree hiding the forest. Kiriko is by far the best healer in the game, she has super long range, has huge burst healing, can be very flexible on her target and her healing never runs out, plus she barely have to aim. She is also one of the best support at taking duals, as her head shots aren't that hard to land and can two tap an opponent. And if you don't feel like using your great dualing, you can just swift step away whenever you want like nothing ever happens, and to add to her mobility you have wall climb. And if all of that wasn't enough, she has arguably the best utility in the game in suzu as it counters the other best utility and some ults. For me they need to reduce her healing output as it can at the same time greatly reduce her effectiveness without touching the fun or the utility of the character. In fact it can encourage not heal boting which is great. I think they can also make her cool-downs longer and make her rate of fire lower so she can't just delete flankers and run away like nothing happened. Suzu is hard to touch without making it completely useless or a boring ability, I think that we could try making the cool-down longer to make it counter other cool-downs less effectively or reduce the healing output as the invincible already make her ally heal faster.

1. Give her back a stun doesn't have to be really any duration even if it's like .001 sec I feel like I lost my ability to help team like just like when reaper drops down or stop hog from healing or stuff like that
2. Give something similar to what queen got but maybe like if brig gets killing blow let me instantly give and receive all the healing for inspire right then
3. Now that armor is gone let me let me over heal again with armor pack so that we can be more preventive healing vs reactive healing doesn't have to give instantly but just let it overheal

The Wound heals on Kill is probably a lot more significant than you'd think paired up with higher uptime on Carnage and more wound from Gracie. She is honestly SO close to being a viable monster of rush aggression, and with some slightly higher incoming self healing she might start showing Damage roles what real damage is.
Also the Zarya change was an obvious fix to her trouble keeping a good energy flow with the nerf to bubble uptime without bringing back uber Bubbles.
I think they should increase her range for her axe by 2-3 meters and/or have a cone shaped indicator to show you the range of her swing.

Junker queen is fine and balanced as is. Zarya is fine and as balanced as she's ever been too. Blizzard is the most incompetent company I've ever seen when it comes to balancing and game polish.
I think what Brig really needs in a buff is quicker armor pack time or more armor slots. I main flex role(so Support pretty much XD) and play Brig a pretty good amount and I understand that armor management plays a role in Brig's skill ceiling but it sucks when I have multiple teammates that need healing and I cant heal them because I dont have anymore packs and dont wanna put myself at risk to activate passive. I think Brig's constantly compared to the monster she used to be which is why a lot of people call her bad but the only thing shes really bad at is consistently healing.
She needs more health packs, or health packs have to heal more.
Even if you win the team fight, if your other support dies, your team will be starved for healing. Especially if there’s nothing by to proc inspire.
I would like to see a return of the armor packs rather than the basic health pack, now that brig is completely out of a nich and probably one of the worst characters in the game. It will give people actual reason to play her because now she feels completely outclassed by most of the support. brig has less range, way less healing output, barely any utility to her team as she can no longer destroy divers and has to put herself at risk to give any value without the defensive stats to do so. Compare that with kiriko that out heal every other hero in the game with super long range and barely needing to aim, can two shot most characters and it's not even that hard to land, can avoid any danger whenever she wants despite never putting herself in danger, and have massive utility with her suzu. And we wonder why she is outperforming every support beside lucio
I never played OW 1 so when I saw brig I was expecting her to be the support version of Rein. The only thing I could ask for is that whatever health Rein shield is, Brig’s should flat out be half of it. 300 shield is irrelevant if multiple people focus you. I wanted her to be a support that could stand on the front lines with a tank but you gotta have such a specific comp just to make her work
Disagree. She needs fewer repair packs that do more healing. This way you don't throw them at everyone like candy. Being forced into proc'ing inspire is a good thing because positioning and shield usage are skills required to keep inspire going. Making repair pack easier to use will only lower the skill floor even further. She needs to be making decisions to be more fun to play.
Inability to consistently heal is a pretty big deficit for a healer.
When looking at tank design, consider that a tank is a character who needs to convince the enemy team to shoot at them. despite the tank being the worst target. So Junker Queen's axe cooldown buff makes her an extreme threat if she's left alone near multiple of your teammates for any period of time. That should make her draw more fire - and the healing buffs should help her survive it.

Here's a thing that the patch notes don't mention: Right now, Kiriko's Swift Step cannot cleanse her of status effects. It's not clear if that's a deliberate nerf they failed to communicate or a bug.

They reduced the burst damage and have more bleed damage, but the effects of that bleed damage means that if you combo the knife with carnage and a quick melee, you'll still instantly kill your enemy, but now you're getting 30+40+15 *1.25 healing guaranteed.
It's a massive buff to her self sustainability disguised as a nerf to burst damage.

Yeah it's not as much of a nerf as Stylosa might think. Yeah it's nerfing her overall damage output, but that's because they had to change Gracie to make the new Over-Bleed Healing viable. With the buff to Gracie's Bleed AND the fact that it can stack means that, theoretically, Junker Queen won't NEED all the front-loaded damage anymore. Especially if you're playing Hyper-Aggressive. All you have to do is stack all of your bleed onto one target and burn hat one target down and, theoretically, you'll be nigh-on unkillable if you're being pocketed by, say, a Mercy or a Zen. What this also means is that Junker Queen is, probably, going to be more reliable on the rest of her team since her ability to actually kill anyone just got rather largely nerfed.
The big problem with this change and why, in the end, this MIGHT become a rather large net nerf is the fact that Gracie's Bleed is a Direct Impact Bleed. That means if you want to actually be viable with Gracie, you MUST be 100% accurate with it. You can't do sneaky things like throw Gracie behind the enemy and summon Gracie through them for damage. The amount of damage Gracie will do on return won't be worth it any longer. With this one change, they just raised the skill floor and ceiling of Junker Queen. However, if you're nigh-on point-blank range, it should be pretty easy to land an Impact Shot with Gracie on your target, especially if that target is a Tank. I think this is going to be one of those situations where Junker Queen is going to be Super Tanky and nigh-on unkillable at the higher ranks because they have the skill to reliably land Gracie Impacts for Over-Bleed Healing, but is going to be nigh-on unplayable at the lower ranks because they don't have the skill to reliably hit those Gracie Impacts and, thus, will die quickly and horribly due to the severe reduction of overall damage output. Those are my initial predictions anyway. We'll have to wait and see.

Knife + carnage + quick melee will be enough to finish most heroes without a pocket healer. And if they took any damage before you begin, it'll one shot a lot of things.
@@ForeverDegenerate I think if we look at the knife in a vacuum, it'll be harder to land kills with it, but it'll give you more self sustain for sure.
However, with that massive buff to carnage, I think her real skill ceiling was lowered. You can basically spam carnage so much more efficiently, that even if the knife does a little bit less damage up front, your overall damage output will be way higher.

I can deal with losing in OW, but what gets me is when I get completely rolled 3 games in a row. If I actually feel like I'm in the same ball park as my opponents then losing doesn't feel so bad, but when I'm getting spawn camped or we never even stop the objective from progressing for more than a second it kills my desire to keep playing.

Thing is, I do have fun in the game. It's just when matchmaking throws me into bs like that it gets me frustrated and I either take a break from it or change gamemodes.

I know how you feel. I got on the game to do my challenges, hoping to get quick tier levels for the BP.... 5-6 game losses later, I got my first win. :,,,) The matchmaking SUCKS! I'm either on a team set to lose, throwers, or I fill in to a losing game which still counts against my mmr. So unfair. Whether it's qp or comp, I get joke teammates or heavy sweats on the enemy team with ximmers. I can't even solo que. Made it to masters support tier 4 with a 5 stack group. The passion I had for this game is tragically depleting rapidly.
That damage orb buff is actually more of a Moira healing buff then a damage buff and one I’ve wanted as a Moira player for a while. Moira is capable of a high amount of healing believe it or not, but man she can really run out of healing juice fast if her team is taking excessive damage. This buff means she’s gonna run out a lot less. She’s going to be rewarded for dealing damage by gaining more healing potential which we can all admit is a good shift. Now whether my beloved Junkerqueen is still bad remains to be seen.
Yeah when I play Moira I usually herded my team into a chokepoint and just spammed the healing orb. This buff just means I can take my eyes away from the lower right corner for a bit to actually do stuff.
Yep, now she can more feasibly use damage orb as primary damage source with healing piss as main healing source. Before I would find myself forced to use healing orb, but that meant I was already out of healing juice and the heal orb was last resort.

It's definitely an awesome and necessary buff, I love that people are complaining about it as soon as they see the word damage. In no way does it benefit her damage, only her healing. I've wanted this for her ever since I started playing her, in fact I didn't understand why she wasn't able to do it in the first place lol. And it's not even that much charge back, so yeah it's a fair buff for her
The matchmaking balance I think was mostly to decrease the wait times but it backfired and it sucks getting rolled or rolling the enemy every time. The biggest issues I run into are a good hit scan on the other team tends to be the biggest factor in if you get rolled or not. In lower ranks anyway.

I also like that the final reward for completing the event achievements is the Winged Victory Mercy skin... which is a very old OW1 skin. At the very least they could have swapped it with one of the new skins and put the Mercy skin in the shop (maybe even for a slightly reduced price since it's so old).

I was wondering AITA because i have frequently complained that the recent games were so unbalanced, so I was glad to hear you say that. This week, many of the games i played involved a complete steamroll. In several escort maps, the payload either never moved, or never paused. Most control maps were done after two short rounds. Because the game is so good at filling empty slots as the game runs, you only know that you lost the game, but not that (over the course of the game) 18 people left your team and were replaced. I have been on the winning and losing side of these matches, and i agree that winning is great, but these games just leave you frustrated, win OR lose.

I'm a Moira main(no not a dps moira) and this change is actually huge. I've always wanted this change. I played JQ at the launch and one tricked her for awhile but she kept getting steam rolled by hog, dva, orissa, and sigma with his poke. This update is very helpful and it's definitely a push but idk if it's enough.
Yeah, this buff/quality of life change is actually pretty helpful, so instead of fading into the enemies that are far away to replenish your biotic energy, you can just throw a damage orb, which also means you do not have to leave your team and get to stay with them.

ML7 has tested JQ Carnage and has stated to be broken. Destructible objects will count towards resets(rails, ice wall and barriers). So if brig and rein both has their shield up while carnage is used then the cooldown is 100% refunded. it is possible to get 100% cooldown by hitting mei’s ice wall if you drag the skill like rein’s melee(works on both enemy and allied mei ice wall).

I really want them to add back Brig's stun. I know it goes against their ethos of removing CC, but I think it would be so valuable to her kit and reenforce her original role as a support who could do more DPS than most other supports. Don't even make it a stun, just make it so the enemy's abilities are interrupted.

They're not even removing stuns. Look at doomfist. All they've done is move cc to the tank role. It makes cc more annoying since the tank wants to get in your face. Backliners with a short range cc are only a problem if you overextend.

I'm plat 5 and yesterday I had a match where all of my teammates were silver, but the enemy team cosisted of mostly gold 1. Why? I don't understand. I also hope they bring back that you can actually see the ranks of players again, because I was only able to see this out of pure luck that all of them had their profile on public.
I got placed in gold 2 (3200 in ow1 which is diamond) and got placed with a 3800 tank. Matchmaking is crazy right now
Yeah I don't really understand the change of hiding the ranks, because every time I hop into a competitive match I don't know who I'm playing against. They claim it's to prevent cyberbullying but literally everyone is in the same rank anyway? If I'm plat I'm not going to make fun of my own teammate for also being plat, it makes zero sense.

Keep in mind, rank doesn't correspond to your mmr either. It's just an emblem, it doesn't actually mean anything. When they do their "soft mmr resets" they're actually resetting your sr, not your mmr. Since they match off your mmr the reset doesn't actually do anything.

Competitive is quite bad recently. The last 20 matches I played was one sided and awful to play, or my team won not giving a chance to the other team or the the rival team was doing the same. Even in some matches that was 4 VS 5 the team with 4 there was not contest.
On those 20 matches, people quit in 19 and in several matches, people quit when the first point was capture or the first round was lost and in unexpected cases when the team was winning and people just left, like 2 or 3 for the same team.
Interestingly enough, when I am below the 50% win rate, I join a team which dominate the match, and when I am above 50% I am joining teams which will be destroyed by the other team.
Another thing that I am not getting is that, in the first season I manage to reach GOLD, from Bronze. And when this season started, I was back to bronze. And it is quite hard to go back to gold again. Like, I won 7 in 10 matches and got Bronze 2, then I won 7 in 12 and wen up to Bronze 1, 7 in 11 and moved to Silver 4 , and I am in the same trend and I am stuck in Silver 3, actually going to 4, back on 3, keep on 3.
This is quite confusing and hard to understand what I am doing wrong, like I won 7 in 7 and I got Silver 2 and I am stuck.
My main issue with comp is definitely how often it displays rank changes.
Ultimately it's still using the same SR system behind the scenes, so it updates every time you gain ~175 SR. That means that (assuming you never lose) you'll spend hours of gameplay only to see your rank go up one or two divisions.
I was usually comfortably lingering in Diamond before the MMR reset, so now that it's started me in silver, it's going to take me weeks to get back to that rank in each of the roles. I am decimating most players I'm matched with and regularly see players with the diamond challenger flair, but my rank still only goes up by one division every 2 - 3 hours of gameplay, which kind of makes me feel like I'm spending a lot of time for very little gain or recognition. They either need more divisions per rank, more volatile SR changes or to show a rank update every time your rank changes.
The lack of feedback just makes it feels like a waste of time.
Silver? Where'd you end your season? And did you get a losing streak that didn't hit the threshold to show up before the season ended? Ending plat should put you in gold 5.
@@Cloud7050 I'm not talking about the partial rank reset; I'm talking about the MMR reset they performed when OW2 came out. So I was Diamond in every role in OW1, my MMR got reset with everyone else's and now it's ranked me as silver... Despite still consistently putting me against plat and diamond players.
Although the low rank isn't really new. I had at least 5 accounts on OW1, and every single account started me as a silver tank (My best role), A gold healer (a close second) and a plat DPS (A role I barely deserve bronze in). It's more just annoying that it'll take me so long to recover my rank.

Junker Queen is currenly also the Janker Queen, as her Carnage changes let her get reduced cooldowns from hitting railings, monitors, barriers and Mei walls (both friendly and hostile).
If you hit a blocking Reinhardt or Brigitte with Carnage, you get double the cooldown reduction.

I was Dia Tank/Support in OW2 - now i'm currently Gold 3 Support and have a 45% win rate with Ana. I don't know what my tank win rate is - but it's shit.
As of the start of this week, I won 4 games out of 25. The games that I did win were absolute and unequivocal destruction. Games I lost were from throwers, leavers, and free to play DPS that literally can't kill anything.
One game on King's row, managed to cap the first point in overtime. Tank (me, sigma), 9-1. Everyone else had at least 4 deaths, our support were decent at healing, but our pharah had 834 damage with a K/D of 0-8. First point. Capped in Overtime. I had 3 ults, and pharah had 0 I think. The other DPS wasn't much better but not completely terrible. Naturally we lost the game.
I'll be the first to admit I'm no longer a diamond tank or support, but I'm playing gold and getting absolutely smashed all the time. Every game seems to have absolutely 'terrible' players. And I can't figure out why this seems to usually be my team (yes yes, talk about how "i'm the only consistent thing between the games" so it must be me... of course. But it's not.) A day before I played against 3 off role plasters players, who were dia or plat on their off roles. While my team are rocking gold-3s.
Matchmaking sucks, rewards suck, 5v5 sucks, literally every single thing except the graphics is worse than Overwatch1. Give me double shield and spam any day. Give blizzard some credit though, the event that's currently on is f*cking AMAZING! Comp queue with less heroes. GG.
I'm in a weird boat where I was mid plat last season, and started this season gold 5. I know this happened to everyone and so the idea is that you still get matched into your appropriate mmr so it's mostly a cosmetic change but... Here's the kicker, I took a break to play other games so I'm presumably mid plat mmr but I'm still gold 5 which lets me party with my legitimate bronze friends. We've had the most insane 1 sided games where it seems like we either get into a plat mmr game or a bronze mmr game.

Totally agree about the matchmaking. Half the time you get a teammate or two who are totally below your skill level and the other team just rolls you because you’re basically playing 3 or 4 on 5. I had a game last night where I went 24-4 on tank and we lost because my dps had 11 and 12 deaths each. Literally lost my first 5 games last night and each game I had either a tank that was feeding, a dps that was getting rolled, or a support that did no healing. They increased the SR range to decrease queue times but the result is the games are unbalanced and one team is usually getting rolled.
Around the start of the year, I noticed my quick play matchmakes were suddenly totally off whack and there were also a lot of leavers. Not sure what happened, but the skill difference between teammates feels very big now. As a support main, basically if your dps are throwing, the match can't be won because nothing dies. Feels pretty awful so I usually play one or two matches and then decide to stop. That or I just stick to competitive, but I'm not always in the mood for that intense a game.
Gotta love goin 24 kills on Zen and our dps are on 10 or 15..

The change to the knife is actually a buff as it does the same damage but it gives more self heal

my argument about the store is: if you make the skins a fair bit cheaper like lets say 700 coins for example it would be more likely that more people would buy them getting you that same profit in the long run, but the way they price things now i feel boils down more to the fact that we may not see the skins ever again so there is this inflated sense of rarity to them. The rotating nature is absolutely designed to create urgency. If you've been eyeing a skin for your fave for a long while, as soon as it comes up you have to count both the monetary value and the potential to not get that skin available again for who knows how long. 100% by design lol

They are not worth the price they are what so ever. The quality control on them is dogshit. Model inconsistency, “sales” , bugged cosmetics (Genji since launch is my source), and reselling old content that doesn’t hold a candle to newer stuff.
For example Gold weapons weapon on Genji’s OW1 default swords have been broken since OW2’s launch and now they are expecting people to buy resells of Nihon and Carbon fibre etc. The new “bauble” emotes they added are also broken for him. When you do any of them (which are 700 credits) it spawns in the floor.
Like it’s just sad, if they are gonna be overpriced at least have some quality.
Orisa is a decent counter to hog, use the spear to stop his breather and the Spin to get in his face if he hooks a teammate. Doesn't help that he's still just absurdly strong at the moment, but it's a way that can't really get cleansed away

@@atlgameslayergaming The weekly challenges ONLY count Wins, so people leave the moment they feel the game is lost. Also the penalties for leaving are almost non-existent, especially in quickplay/arcade.

They leave because they are not having fun, and no reward the game will give them other than dopamine is not worth the pain of a bad game where you have no impact. Just watch a movie instead. Comp is very much broken and one sided. Although sometimes you do get games where both teams are equal. Yesterday on Blizzard world the enemy team almost got to the final point but we held it, and at the end of the round it was just 4 of us. The thing is, in defense, we were 4 the entire round, we won😐 with Orisa, soldier, mercy, moira, we won. We obviously were super tryhard at that point but right after that we got a match where we got steamrolled

I've noticed the comp matchmaking as well. I'll get games where we completely role the enemy team with 20 kills plus, meanwhile the enemy has under 8 kills. Then I'll get a game where the complete opposite occurs.

Half knockback and damage (or none at all), but that would be so useful for mobility purposes.
The thing about the changes to Junker Queen’s Jagged Edge is that the added DoT means even more healing if you get the pick on whoever she hits. So less burst damage, higher sustain potential. So she’s got huge potential to stick around as long as your team can follow up on her as an initiator.
I've been hoping for an increase to Brig's hp or shield, so I'll take what I can get.

If you kill someone with the impact damage from carnage or any other ability including her ultimate the wound damage that it wouldve given you is granted immediately upon their death. Feels so good actually rly great change.
At least now you get value, compared to before where you'd barely get any heals at all. I just had a comp match as her and got something like 1,500 healing, compared to pre-patch 700 or so at most.

I think a good change they could make to brig is to allow her to repair her shield with the repair kits. She pulls out her shield, presses the repair kit button and then it repairs half her shield health back. It could help a lot with her survivability

You shouldn’t be using your shield for anything but bash and burst damage like widow or hanzo during a rotation, you’re not meant to tank with it. If you’re frequently in a position where 125 shield health is more important than healing your team, it’s time to switch heroes

Always said the ONLY difference between Ranked and Quickplay is that one tracks numbers and the other doesn't.
The same toxic behaviors happen regardless of which game mode you are in.
leavers, toxic enemies and teamates, throwers, etc.
some examples I've had in ranked were,
healers that refuse to heal specific teamates due to some petty arguement, or even refuse to heal anyone except their 1 friend they grouped with,
people throwing because they didn't get the hero they wanted to play,
the worse i had was my whole team throwing a match by just sitting in spawn the entire match and i was the only person going out to try and stop the enemy team/
they literally just sat on the payload and rode it all the way to the end because there's nothing 1 person can do to a whole enemy team by themselves.
But people still try to treat quickplay like it's the "safezone to be toxic"
but all that does is encourage and reinforce toxic behaviors in the player base that carries to other modes outside of just quickplay.
I say when people are toxic in any gamemode report them.
I can tell ya right now as a sorta jq main currently, hog is actually ridiculous easy to kill as jq, what you gotta do is just run around in circles around them whilst melleeing after every attack, you will almost always outheal and out damage hog by doing this unless they are getting pocketed
i really like the moira change. sometimes you'll run out of grasp heal and have to waste a heal orb to get people above thresholds. throwing damage now can accomplish the same goal while generating more ult charge + threatening backline
Question: Is there a balance philosophy for Blizzard that they never go back to other variations of a character? They really think about reworking brigitte completely instead of maybe reverting some changes they made to her in overwatch 1? The second game changed so much stuff already, maybe part of her old balance kit actually works with it, without feeling OP.
We need to stay as far away from release brig as possible. That broken garbage should never get near the game again at any point

I don't understand why they aren't pushing out rebalance updates constantly. Obviously I'm not a game dev but is it much more complicated than changing a few numbers in code to make these changes? Especially when it comes to damage/health/cooldown numbers? I wish they would explain how they do this, it seems so strange to me why they aren't changing things faster especially in the current One-shot meta we're in right now. I mean cool these changes seem reasonable but they could've at least said on the notes "Hey we know Hog and Sojourn are still problems right now and we're working on it.".
It's because of crossplay. Changing the code doesn't take that long, but testing it and then publishing the changes to all the different platforms (which might require to work with teams outside of Blizzard) delays things by a lot.
The balance is terrible though, there's no way they didn't catch these glaring issues during QA, and I do agree that these are problems that are urgent because they're causing the game to bleed players like crazy, especially with the PvE stuff nowhere in sight.

The way I saw the jq knife rework is they took the damage from the direct impact and put it into bleed for more heals making her more tanky
As a flex player, Brig is actually my favorite Support, just above Kiriko. I tend to rack up good numbers all while actually helping push objectives, defend objectives, heal teammates, and partake in team fights. The shield buff sounds okay enough, it's actually surprising how well a 250 shield can keep you safe when it's just big enough to cover your body; I just hope her shield recharge time stays the same, since I don't remember if it's based on shield health per second or percent per second. I really hope they don't totally rework her, but I admit some more buffs would be very nice to have. Her shield bash, if not whipshot as well, should totally stun for a second, and could honestly have more knockback and damage. Her repair packs could heal faster/more/for longer, for example, and she could carry more and/or have a faster cool down on them. Her Inspire passive could be better, especially considering her limited attack range to actually proc it, her flail could maybe get a range and/or damage buff, and maybe some slight tweaks to her ult. I don't want anything crazy, just a tune-up all-around so that even the people who say "Brig is objectively the worst support" like my friends won't be able to say that anymore. For all the fun I have and all the games I've helped win/turn around by playing as or switching to her, I still constantly hear nothing but slander against her, and I'd like that to change (just not to a point where basically anyone can dominate just by picking her like with Roadhog lol).
It seems you will want to in the future with Junker Queen to use gracie to pull the backline toward the front line to get max heals and then use the axe.
Yeah I swear her knife is so annoying when playing lucio just launches you into the middle of the enemy team
I solved the competitive issue in a simple way: i just quick play and have fun from now on. The game is nice when you don't care about winning or losing but just make good plays with your character.

I think the main thing of the jagged blade 30 wounds damage is the synergy with wounds allowing all heals after the target is gone. That makes the jagged blade pretty impressive for healing up, even at killing blows.
Carnage on the other hand has a huge cooldown, so I doubt it's spammable unless you somehow hit all 5
It's cd is cut in half when you hit 2 people. It's quite spammable in any sort of group. Since it's rare that it misses, this effectively dropped it from an 8s cd to a 6s cd.
If the enemy has a hog, the best class to play into him isn't a another hog, but Orisa. 2 of her abilities negate he hook completely and mitigate his ult substantially, and the spear cancels his healing

I think maybe a solution (just a crude one that doesn't require a huge overhaul) for Push maps is to make the winner simply either the team who pushed the Robot to the end of the map, or the team who pushed the payload the most distance *overall*. So rather than the game only counting your push as progress once the robot finally makes it back to your barricade, it instead counts the entire jaunt back to the barricade as progress added to your "total distance pushed". Maybe instead of the light jog/sprint the robot does, you can just have him push one single barricade, so then that way you're not getting a crazy ton of distance from his runs.
I played OW1 for years straight, hit rank 130 in OW2 season 1 and I quit right after. I don't plan on returning, I haven't played in over a month. I only play competitive and they completely killed the game for me and this is someone that actually loved playing sojourn, became my fav character very quickly. But there's no reward for playing comp anymore.. what am I even playing for? I want to see peoples ranks in the game.. I want to see my SR change every game.. it's so boring how it's set up.
I am excited for the PvE to come out and that's when I'll give the game a shot again. They completely ruined the PvP in that game for me.

They need to make Dva's ultimate louder. I seriously sometimes can't hear it over the noise of battle. Maybe I'm deaf, but it often goes unnoticed until the last second when it hits the ground next to me.

The Junker Queen getting healed for the remaining duration even when a target dies should really have been obvious, I think. If anything, I'd go with Warframe rules on that. If your target dies with bleed on the, insta-heal the Queen for whatever damage was left on the clock, rather than waiting for the counter. That rewards her for kills and allows her to build up momentum. Reducing the cooldown on the axe is also a good idea. At its current cooldown, it's ostensibly a gimmick - the kife does far more work. Being able to trip it more frequently actually makes for a more active playstyle. I get that Blizzard don't want to make another melee-only character (so another Reinhardt), but that really does feel like how the Queen should play.

I always felt with competitive, if your team gets a leaver, the remaining players have a stat increase to make up for the loss of a player and you still maintain a fighting chance. And Mei... She was such an amazing Hog counter. Granted, Mei's ability to isolate hog and Ana's nade still can make him can occur the same effect.
Nope people would leave the game deliberately and you'd get rolled and smoked by a single pocketed dps because damage breakpoints go out the window

Even if that were true, lets say someone created a smurf account, it would be a 1 trick for a single win, and not saying the boost would be big, something like a 5% or 10% armor boost. Something enough to increase survivability of the remaining players and lets say there's a cap with a 10% armor leaver buff.

Every thing you’ve said is true about competitive. This type of comp is what leaves us stuck in a rank or demoted. I feel like some players I get matched with when I loose aren’t gold/ plat players they don’t play like it.

Talking about the matchmaking: Just yesterday I had my 1st ever rage quit from OW, since I started playing in 2017. I literaly dont play anything else but competitive. Only play QP or Arcade if Im with friends, and they wanna try someting new or just legit chill w/o playing super hardcore. Even when the events asked me to play arcade or something else to get a skin or w/e that cant be aquired from lootboxes, I just played the other gamemodes till I have the item I wanted.
This new xmas event, where they "gave" you a Brigitte skin, I FINALLY decided to get the skin literally the last day of the event (which a lot of people did too, btw), and at 1st I thought "Oh ok, I just gotta play 6 gamemodes from the event and I should get it" before realizing after 2-3 games that the way to aquire the skin is by completing CHALLANGES that the event gave me (sounds stupid, ik, but for me, OW just gave me stuff from playing, not completing tasks). And after 2 hours of trying to get the challanges (which I couldnt, cuz people wanted to do the 15 thaw allies thing, while others didnt care for stuff and just wanted to win and move along), barely completing 2, I got salty by all the stuff you had to do to get the skin (which again, my fault, had the entire event to get the skin, but I didnt expect to have to do more stuff than just play a match), so I skipped over it.
I decided to play competitive, cuz even if Im depressed and what not, or had a bad day. And even if I lose all the matches that I played, it was super fun, that I felt relaxed afterwards. It was my stress reliever, even if I lost, like I said. I didnt care, playing was fun. Winning or lossing.
But now, its 70% matches where you get curvestomped by a team of a rank bracket higher than yours. 25% matches where your team were throwing, or their team was throwing, and 5% actual good matches that felt good and balanced, even if you lose.
So after being midly salty from not acquiring the Brigitte skin cuz it was way more complicated to get a "free" skin than it used to, plus the fact that people doesnt care or doesnt now; going to competitive and being greeted with matches where your team was throwing (or legit "noobs" that barely understand positioning, which Im not against, but dont play comp until you feel you add value to your teammates by not dying or being out of place), where the other team had diamonds or higher (Im low plat, btw), and just complete unbalanced matchmaking. It made me feel sad, upset and angry when I closed the game cuz I wasnt having fun.
After 5 years of playing this, almost everyday. Always have it installed on my PC cuz it was my go-to game when I didnt knew what else to play or do. Even after never reaching Diamond when I was so close (2850 on tank one season). Going from High Plat to Low Gold the last few weeks of OW. Getting matches agaisnt smurfs, boosters, or Diamonds carrying their Silvers buddies, I never felt bad after a session of OW. Until yesterday. And it makes me sad that is backloggin lower in my "what can I play" list, just for how bad its getting. I even stopped caring about the free premium currency every week after the 2nd week, for making me play Arcade, or having challanges that are hard to understand (I might be stupid, which I am; but making you play 10 games on 2 different roles, but not tell you which roles has what number of games is stupid). This "OW2" kept the "The sequel is worst than the 1st" trend.... which honeslty, I feared from day 1 of hearing about it.

Gotta say something about one sided matchmaking. That was a core problem in the orgininal overwatch. The Time To Kill was too short in the game so a single misplay or good play from anyone could win the match in an instant. Back then we actually had a second tank to at least somewhat turn around the fight to a tug of war instead of having an instant one sided stomp.
Overwatch 2 has not changed the time to kill enough to matter and now with one less tank in each group you see those stomps far more often. The leaderborad being there also helps to see you being part of a team stomping the other one, while back then a one sided match was only noticeable, when you were not able to contribute to the team that was stomping the other side. Back then you felt like you did nothing but won anyway, or it felt like you had a really good game and the other side was not able to outplay you.
Now the leaderborad can tell you "yeah those poor guys did not get to play. Had fun with that?"
We could add to that the people who rarely play the game, but to be honest we also have a lot of new players who grind the free seasons pass and those also have 100+ hours in the game and with it the experience. With that amount of playtime in this rather short amount of time the game is out, it's difficult to be a noob.
Competitive's matchmaking was stupid in season one as well, I've been in a queue for over an hour and still didn't find a match.
Regarding matchmaking, it doesn't help that every 2nd game is push and that mode is almost always a stomp either way. They really need to stop forcing the increased frequency of new maps.
The Moira change is actually OK, it gives no value to dps Moira's cuz they're not gonna heal allies so it doesn't matter 😂 As a healer Moira main, this is what I've wanted for a while, being able to just get a little bit of biotic energy back from the damage orb.
When you're out of healing charge, it can be annoying and risky to try and leech it back off of an enemy, and now (if no one needs too much healing cuz then you'd just use your healing orb) you can chuck out your damage orb to leech biotic energy at a safe range and heal your team more efficiently. The more biotic energy, the better. Some people don't seem to understand (dps Moira's) that Moira's healing is actually really good
Honestly, I haven't been on overwatch in a while purely because how often I get spawn campt. It's not fun when you just can't get out of spawn for the duration of the game and honestly makes me groan when I find out im playing escort for this specific reason. I don't leave game, but I don't play anymore because this happens to often for my liking.
Matchmaking wise I think the matchmaker was fine when so many people where playing it at launch but now that the player base has settled a bit and there is just a lot of old players leaving again it doesn't expect the less people so match making becomes worse.

I noticed that in the stomp matches there seem to be lower rank player in one of the teams. Master/Grandmaster match and one of the dps players is let's say silver. On forums lots of people kept saying for longest time that it means their mmr is high, that they are playing better than their rank. To give example, is Silver 2 with 30% win rate good enough to land in master lobby? At this point it's pretty much a coin flip, even more brutal flip than attack/defence one back in early Overwatch 1.
The problem with Brig is her shield bash does absolutely nothing more than just let her move faster for half a second.

Here me out here, we add a very quick stun back to brigs shield bash that is no longer than like 0.1 second to where we can stop some of the overwhelming pressure on support. Just a thought
had a match where opponents got a master main tank player, and our team got a never placed tank gold dps main with 20 minutes on orisa and 10 on sigma in his entire carreer; don't get why we have to tell our friend to leave the formation due to rank gap when during matchmaking we end up with people with their same rank
For a new player in Silver I can’t even get games that finish because everyone leaves first fight and it ruins the game for the rest of the players that are trying to win and increase in skill. They definitely need to look into a more punishing system
Comp matchmaking is really bad right now, idk if it's my luck or intentional, I would get a great team for a few match resulting in easy win, then suddenly I get newbie/stubborn players that refuse to cooperate in my team while the enemy have grandmaster/diamond players resulting being sweep by enemy(I am gold/plat 5 player). It's getting really frustrating everytime this happens.
The more time goes on, the more obvious it becomes that 5v5 was a MASSIVE, irreversible mistake to the game's balance. Solo tank formats will always result in lopsided hero matchups, which compounds poor matchmaking overall.
I forget her name but a streamer suggested that brig should get the armor packs that her dad used to have and lore wise it would make sense because she's a squire and a trained blacksmith. But cap the armor at 50 which would solve a lot of the one shot problems while also forcing cooperation between the team judging who needs it vs who has the least armor.
The matchmaker is so garbage that I've met dozens of people I would have previously been a hundred percent certain are smurfing or boosted, only to discover that they actually are the rank I think they are on the account they're playing on and have just been placed in the same lobby as me for some insane reason.

The whole reason I'm not having fun with OverWatch is because there's no rewards in the game they took all the skins (rewards) and put them into the shop so you no longer have to earn them you just have to buy them.
I'm no longer playing OverWatch because not exactly fun to play when you don't get anything to earn.
Which feeds into the fact that I'm not going to buy an overwatch skin if I'm not going to play the game.
They should put the Wound heal ratio back from 1.25 to 1, but just increase all of her wound damage by 25%
The more I think about it the more I think it's imperative they nerf Kiriko. Kiriko is just out performing every other support at most thing she does excey for lucio speed boost. People are complaining about suzu being strong but it's the tree hiding the forest. Kiriko is by far the best healer in the game, she has super long range, has huge burst healing, can be very flexible on her target and her healing never runs out, plus she barely have to aim. She is also one of the best support at taking duals, as her head shots aren't that hard to land and can two tap an opponent. And if you don't feel like using your great dualing, you can just swift step away whenever you want like nothing ever happens, and to add to her mobility you have wall climb. And if all of that wasn't enough, she has arguably the best utility in the game in suzu as it counters the other best utility and some ults. For me they need to reduce her healing output as it can at the same time greatly reduce her effectiveness without touching the fun or the utility of the character. In fact it can encourage not heal boting which is great. I think they can also make her cool-downs longer and make her rate of fire lower so she can't just delete flankers and run away like nothing happened. Suzu is hard to touch without making it completely useless or a boring ability, I think that we could try making the cool-down longer to make it counter other cool-downs less effectively or reduce the healing output as the invincible already make her ally heal faster.
Support was bugged earlier. It was locked in the queue menu and when I played Brig she had 200 health total.
