I live in a low-mid income neighborhood that's 2mi from a project.During the shutdown kids, usually boys, were buying out all the Plan Bs because they didn't like wearing condoms. The girls aren't on birth control b/c of their relationship with their parents. So the boys have the girls take one after each session, which is destroying these female teens' hormones. Plan B isn't the same as Birth Control

@@jade.2222 whether they went through with the pregnancy or not is irrelevant. The fact 18 underage girls got pregnant (ie had a positive pregnancy test) in the course of 9 months due to lack of access to proper education and/or condoms is still far worse than 5 girls making a pact. They may not have all been students at the local public high school, but they were all under 18.

When in actuality they are messing up kids for the rest of their lives. Morally defunct. Kids are kids and they're still learning, maybe in high school, and they're called underage and called minors. They can't drink, can't vote, no cigarettes, no R-rated movies, maybe driving - until someone wants to sleep with them, and suddenly they're grown? Also people can buy cards with the legal ages per US state printed on them; that's some messed up stuff on its own. Young girls are exploited, then blamed for being victims of adults who should know better. Also sometimes the predators know how to groom them just right to make them feel like they weren't victims.

My entire highschool experience involved boys pressuring girls into all kinds of gross sexual situations, and yet never have I seen a teen boy sex-related movie that treats boys having sex like something risky and scary, the way they do girls. Boy teen sex movies encourage boys to have sex, whereas teen girl sex movies are all about the shame and responsibility. Seems a little skewed.

    • @Mels0103

That's because the boys usually dip out on the girl they impregnated and refuse responsibility. This is either their decision or they're pressured heavily by their parents. So for boys it's just a night of fun and for girls it's a lifetime of shame and regret.

My mom was impregnated with my sister at 14, had her at 15, because she got literally no sex-ed growing up because her parents were of that whole "if they don't know what sex is, they won't do it" mindset (thanks Mormonism). She had minimal knowledge of what her and her boyfriend were doing while they were doing it, so honestly, I feel like he DID actually take advantage of her. Ruined her whole life. They made her drop out and marry the guy, only for him to get hooked on drugs and cheat on her with her best friend. Then at 18, she found out that, even if she had been on birth control, it probably wouldn't have helped because she has some weird super human resistance to pretty much any form of medication (seriously, it surprised the docs just how much anesthesia she needed for her c-section) and she ended up pregnant with my brother and was, once again, force to marry the guy, who turned out to be a drunken asshole who abused her. She wanted to graduate high-school, she wanted to be a welder, but her parents' backward ideology ruined that for her. She never blamed my sister or my brother though, which is good.

I will never forget we were driving to the store once and I think we heard something about this on the radio because she just turned to me in the car and told me she would always be ready to pay for me get an abortion if I needed one. But in something like this, it could have been about Sarah journeying from thinking she wants to be a teen mom to realizing that she's not ready yet and deciding to terminate the pregnancy. Like obviously this movie was always going to be kind of garbage since it's based on a fake, sensationalized scenario, but it could have been interesting showing the girls all making different choices with their pregnancies and how it impacted them

@@breetoldyouso Oh ya of course! There is a lot of care and time spent in the adoption process, and saying “placed” instead of “gave up” really puts emphasis on the actual placement process. Saying “give up” implies a different meaning and intent. My family (who took adoption classes) was told that you give up toys or clothing, so saying that about a child can be damaging to them. If you’re interested, there are a decent amount articles about the differences and how it effects the children that are placed. Saying “gave up” is super common though, so I’m sure no one would be offended if they hear it, I just figured since Nick is so socially conscious it might be a good thing to mention for the future. I dated a 21 year old at 16 and he had a pregnancy fetish and claimed the condom "broke" (it was dark and im pretty sure he faked putting it on). That scare fucked me up for months because I was so anxious and worried. A year after we broke up he was 22 and got a 15 year old pregnant. My mom didn't have a sex talk with me until I was 17 or 18 and by then I'd already had multiple partners. My family and community was also very religious so there was a lot of misinformation. Two movies about pregnant teenagers that I actually like (then again, it's been years since I've seen them) are "For Keeps" with Molly Ringwald and "Fifteen and Pregnant" with Kirsten Dunst.

I remember watching "Fifteen and Pregnant" when I was a kid and I loved it! I thought it was so realistic even though I knew nothing about actual pregnancy and teen pregnancy issues; I just liked the fact that it wasn't a purely happy film.
