Hey I got an idea, mix match different levels of plates and see how strong they are together.
Mosin round went through for sure, but the .308 didn't. Now on the other hand, if you handloaded some .308 with M2AP bullets pulled from old .30-06 ammo, THAT woulda smoked that armor!!
Todo el tiempo broder
Had this same plate carrier, dam thing was stolen out of my rig when broken into at the hospital. Saved up for 3 months to buy it, was an awesome carrier and I absolutely loved it. Most comfortable carrier I've ever worn, I've been wearing body armor for 10+ years in my profession, by far the skeletal was worth every penny. Was hoping work would replace it, being I purchased for my job and they just laughed and said wear work provided armor. Feels like it's from the 1980s what they supply
The 7.62x54R is a wicked round. I posted about it being the longest serving military round ever a couple of days ago. 131 years and still in service in the nastiest conflicts on Earth.
When ppl compare the .308 and 54r, they also need to realize that the Mosin's 29" barrel probably adds a few hundred extra ft/s of velocity.
Yeah but everything with kinetic energy has due with speed not weight… if you increase the weight it’s 2x the kinetic energy.. if it’s the same weight and you increase the speed it 4x kinetic energy.
@@88997799 so does that make Liberty civil defense 9mm 50gr magic?
I get the point of barrel length changes the ballistics when firing the same round, but a 308 has a flatter trajectory and a little more power on target! What about using the 54r round in the 308, seeing that a rifle chambered in 308 can chamber both rounds, then which round is better?
@@meaghanmcauley1010 you can fit a lot more powder behind the 54r cartridge
@@mikegreen5707 in a 16” 9mm carbine delivering 700ft/lbs + of energy going 2,500fps with the ability to defeat armor I would have to say so! 😁👍
To defeat body armor with 5.7 you need particular ammo. Most of the commercially available ammo won't defeat armor. Look into vanguard outfitters. Round comes out of a handgun at approx 2600fps (and greater out of a longer barrel) vs the 1600-1800fps commonly available.
Absolutely love them old rifles with the wood furniture and iron sights
I love em all!
Wow! That plate took a lot of hits and for the most part, it stood its freaking ground. Very impressive
The mosin is the one that passed through the armor
💪💪
is a 8mm mauser more powerful than a mosin?just curious ijust got a mauser for 100 bucks idont here to many people talk about 8mm 8 by 57
@@americanpatriot3822definitely 8mm Mauser can go through a level 4 plate
That .308 is nice!! I was really looking forward to seeing that .50bmg blowing through that armor.
Was thinking the same thing 😁.
That’s the only reason I watched. Is there a part 2?
Oh my when I was in the army that body armor covered your whole torso and it was heavy as hell but good video bruh
Thanks for watching Renaldo
@@WHOTEEWHO yessir 👊
The military issued ones still do. But the actual trauma plate is the same size
@Pavel Manzhetov damn that's crazy. That's so much extra weight to carry on top of your rucksack
@Pavel Manzhetov that must be miserable In the heat
Thank you for doing the test but it would have been helpful to see the results from each round - which would have required inspection after each round. Also, if that's ceramic armor then the first rounds are weakening the plate so that the Mosin round had an unfair advantage. You almost need a fresh plate for each round. Yeah, expen$ive.
Yep, my exact thoughts. Should have at least split the plate in 4 sections and place the shots as far apart as possible.
Agreed
The Mosin went thru!
Yeep👍
💪💪
I love your old-school stance/grip.
Wow, no introduction. Interesting, jumping right into the video. Cool!
Thank you Who-TEE-WHO that was very entertaining Adam. Thank you for sharing with us have a good evening
You too Joe!
Have you tried this out with the 22-250 yet? That, the 243 and the 270 are notorious against steel plates, so I wonder how this one would fare
Not yet
243 probably will,270 will lol
Yeah, that'd be an interesting one to see for sure.
I'd bet the . 243 in a light grain like 55gr or 60 gr will smoke it. .270 might go through in 130gr.
BeReady OrSorry iirc 2400 fps is the limit. Doing it at 25 yards isnt all that impressive. None will do it at 100.
people are fools for under-estimating 7.62 x54r out of a Mosin oh, I have a Russian produced in 44 that was never issued, it is attacked driver and I love it and the 7.62 x54r with a 180 grain bullet is absolutely devastating love the video thanks
A tack driver* but that is awesome
@@drakedefee5729 yeah I know I should learn to proofread when I use my voice to text my bad but definitely I love my m-44 I actually have two of them thanks again for the video
You’re hilarious brother. And it was very nice to see. Great to watch!!
Thanks for watching Zach!
My idea to make a level 3 a better vest is those vests from china on wish, a few of those on the inside, with cushioning on the inside and have vest on outside outside. That way a lot of energy would get absorbed in the cheap woven fabric and vest and lastly cushioning like memory foam. It'd take some engineering and stitching and lots of work but someday may be worth it.
I didn’t get notified I’m bout tired of that now RUclips is fixing to hear from me
Daggum RUclips
@@WHOTEEWHO I haven't been getting notifications here lately either! :-(
It's RUclips's way of protecting you from the evil gun content.
Ya cause they will fix it ASAP😉
Everyone needs to move over to Bitchute at this point. RUclips sucks.
762/54 R was my first bullet fired and I couldn't hear for three days. I had no ear protection and learned quick.
I love the faint “oh boy!” At 5:27 😂
Nice stuff :)
Quite honestly, I was myself back in a day actually pretty disappointed with the 300 Blackout, both subsonic and supersonic. I found that particular round pretty hard to reload in a consistent manner for hunting.
Dude, How about (at some point when you have time) introducing us The 30-06 and her reloads from mild to Wild. :)
Good idea
Didn't think there was going to be a video tonight and boom there is wtw
Try my best to have a video out every night. Appreciate you watching bigtime
The superman joke made me like you already, and now im subscribed.
Thanks for subscribing!
Exactly! 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video WTW! I figured it would’ve stopped that Mosin, at least the 1st couple times. Thank you sir!🤘🏽
Thanks for watching!!!
You didn't shoot the 3006? That was the best military round during ww2.
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
7.92 mauser is superior sonny. Get some explosive rounds
@@jonmeray713 what's a 7.92?
BeReady OrSorry aka 8mm mauser.
Ok 8mm mauser is a great round and it is close second to my favorite the 3006. But let us not forget that we beat the Germans fair and square.
Now that was a fun video brother. Nice plate carrier btw 🇺🇸
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Should have used the green tipped 5/7 . Pretty sure it would have breeched
Yep, up to 75 yards
Thank you for keeping your channel clean.
Thanks for watching
You have some nice rigs there buddy, glad to see someone gettin to enjoy em.
Cool video, wish we could have seen different ammo types for each.
Awesome video. Very Informative. Thanks for sharing.
the old "Flak jackets" we wore in the Canadian Army in the 80's wouldn't stop nothing lol. And you're right, the flag did look awesome buds, another great vidya!
I actually got my hands on one of those from a surplus sale! It was so worn out that it wasn't fixable so I tested it and you're right. Even 22lr went right through. Might've just been deteriorated from years of use but definitely useless now.
That mosin went straight out the back. But they all did pretty at trying. The 308 is a great all around gun. And i like that ya shot most of them with the steel case stuff. Lets everybody know they work in it them guns and at 20 yards theyll work just fine if they have to. Who-tee-who
Very underrated channel.
Thanks
That plate took a beatin!!
Tough stuff
Okay. This one oughta be pretty good. Thanks WTW 👍
Thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot, I am afraid to test my plate but, just trusted. That doesn't mean I will look for enemy bullets in future.
Tough stuff for sure brother GOD BLESS y’all Amen 🙏
💪💪
Was waiting for the .50 - oh well.
As uncomfortable those hesco barrier vests I got when I was in they were definitely worth it compared to the civilian market carriers.
Had an unfortunate test scenario with mine. I'm still here so I can say it worked for me.
andy d right lol. Definitely a good thing.
@@JLC87420 semper fi

great video as always
Love the color and the designs on the 223
That first 308 broke some bones and took you out of the game but you lived on in agony while gasping for air long enough for them to finish you off with a point blank.
Glad I’m sportin lvl 4 plates
💪💪
Next time place some gel and or a chronometer behind the plate to test the lethality of the penetrating rounds.
That was pretty impressive and information was good, it'd be interesting to see how these plates hold up to popular long distance and hunting calibers like .243, 6mmRem,7mmRem, 300WM, etc.but using the FMJ rounds to keep things on the up and up
Tough stuff
That plat at the end stopped all those mosin shots impressive .from John from maine penobscot county
Lighter bullets are shorter on the base, and leave more room in the case for gunpowder, so there is usually a choice between light and fast, or heavy and slower. Like a .308 in 125gr at 3100-fps, or .308 in 185gr at 2500-fps. In this scenario, what has better penetration on body armor? heavy and slower, or lighter and faster?
The lighter and faster round will do more against armor
Cool video I like the armor!
Thanks for watching!
Nice one man, good vid
Cant believe what that plate stopped at 20 yards very impressive. Would like to see how well it deals with the bigger rounds at 100! Great video!
Tough stuff
We are seeing a lot of body armor videos but this one was really a lot of fun. You and Paul do a great job. Appreciate you posting regularly and giving us all something to look forward to. Thanks. God bless y'all.
Appreciate you watching!!!
@@WHOTEEWHO
Always brother....... you're the best.
A glancing blow from any that don't go through will still save your ass !
👍👍
I'm pretty sure most vests were designed for this as opposed to a full on frontal assault . Flack jackets were designed to keep you from getting killed by fragmented ammo coming from any where . Pilots in Nam would sit on theirs to keep from getting hit from ground fire !
Howdy Mr. Who...Another great video. I'm surprised the 308 didn't go thru
You know that body armour does not stop head shots
Need a helmet I guess aye
That was a interesting video and that plate did a fine job at stopping some serious firepower.
A real good plat carrier with a great plate makes me shoot for the legs and head.
Another fun video from
MISTER ohW eeT ohW ! 🇺🇸🤠🚬
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Nice!
Hey DruryOutdoors!
Great video suprised by the Mosin nice round
💪💪
The 5.7 doesn't go through Armor when your using FMJ/HP. 5.7 was designed for penetrating Kevlar if used with the round it it was intended to be used with (SS190)
This test isn't exact the plate has structural integrity so he would have to use a plate for every round to get the true results
Hoping to see you take it apart to see the construction of the level 3 plate
Super good video!!
Grandpa’s rifle is not a joke he is way too old to fight. So grandpa shots you even with armor on. He knows how to make sure it’s you and not him taking a dirt nap..
Looks like the spot the 308 hit that went through
Really nice work. I too adore that 308.
Thanks for watching Greg
Last i herd on the 5.7 its suppose to be a special greentip round
That armor is pretty nice bud! Good stuff. What kind of red dots you got on those CMMG?
Pinty red dot
Was there a hole where that first 223 hit? It looks like there is but it's so small it's hard to tell.
Yes the 223 did
Watching WTW slowly work himself out of frame with each recoil lol
😆😆😆
If you were shooting surplus 7.62x54R it’s steel core with a copper wash vs lead core copper jacket for the others so it’s not surprising it penetrated.
💪💪
Great video. I've been wondering about acelink
Thanks for watching Ben
Awesome videos you guys are awesome
Thanks for watching Dannie
Wish this plate carrier wasn't stolen from my truck. 5x I've watched this video just to look at the carrier again lol
It looks like you have a Velocity trigger in your 308 rifle i have 5 in my AR rifles and pistols and just love them. Great video love the content you do thank you.
I love the velocity triggers! Used it to shoot 1,000 yards with this rifle
As always great vid Adam. Cya next time. Oh hey btw do you do any reloading?
Looks like your Mosin could use the bolt polished like what I did to mine. It really helps that sticky Mosin bolt so that you don't have to beat the crap out of it to cycle it. It takes a bit of time but we'll worth it.
The 223 with green tip will go though every time
Use same caliber but with blue tip 5.7 green tip 556 300 blk out loaded with light 308 bullet 308 with ballistic tip. And different 54r or same
Should do a giveaway on that plate
Love the plate and the plate carrier BUT not legal in Australia
.
The Mosin Nagant went thru... all of them created a distortion... 😉
Thanks for the video. I was waiting to see the 50 destroy it. I have thought of getting a BP vest for hunting.
Hey dragonrider
@@WHOTEEWHO Hey 👋
Not having a backing and the whole armor giving and moving effects the result. If there were steel or concrete behind it and judging the ding on that material would give a better reading on the armor.
Morin didn't even slow down
I would train myself to be able to make head shot's knowing everyone is more than likely wearing body armor . Head shot Sam keeps them down.
That's why you wear soft body armor under the main carrier.
👍👍
Cool video
5.7 is a spicy pistol round and may go through soft armor, but it won't penetrate hard armor, even if you use a PCC to fire it.
👍👍
Love the plate and the plate carrier BUT not legal in Australia .
.
.308 and 7mm is a given but I must say im impressed by the .300blk may have to get me one.
I love em all!
Excelente broder🙏hermosa colección.
there should be a bullet resistant umbrella.
You must had check every shot after.
my whole vest rig weights about 50 lbs, real hot and real heavy.
that plate is very strong
Very strong
What happened to the 50bmg? Thought you were gonna finish it off at the end.
Didn't need it
223 isn’t a military round.
Big difference between 223 and 556 green tip when it comes to armor penetration.
