Thanks WTW for doing the 7.62-54r vs clay block! Now if you could do 8mm vs clay👍😎
Remain positive and vigilant!

You can disagree all you want you're still a moron I test my ammunition that's been tested back during the first World War a gentleman by the name of Jim Robinson who wrote 11 books on duck hunting and outdoor honey served as a sniper in the first World War I lead the Canadian Armed Forces any talks about the effectiveness of the 303 Brit the eight millimeter he's by the German forces in the Second World War the 762 by 54 the history cartridges that are used real targets man not clay blocks and those same cartridges shoes for hunting at ranges up to 300 yards even in Africa those crash and Chase will not be allowed back at that time 375 H&H Magnum your shooting distance in Africa what's 50 yards the maximum close range anything below that your dead all the other idiots watching to Clay blocks for all I care
Great Britain is smaller than Wyoming but controlled a quarter of the planet's land at their height, largest empire in history. Been wanting a Lee Enfield in 303 for a while just for the history.
We all talk about 8mm Mauser, 30.06 and 762x39 but the 303 Brit is the ultimate world historical round.
Which round killed the most in their ancestral land is the winner chicken and crumpets
Yesss!! I’ve been waiting for the 303 Brit to make an appearance! Fish and chips vs stroganoff!
Gotta love 303
Me too 😆 LoL absolutely awesome
@@Shaggy_Rogers0001 absolutely 😂
@@WHOTEEWHO I got one myself that’s been sporterized before I got it. Mine was made by savage for ww2.
Thanks. Now I'm hungry. lol
To quote that great extraterrestrial philosopher Mr. Spock "Primitive, but effective."
The enfield was the best bolt gun fielded by any army , they freaking rule !
👍👍 gotta love it
.303 was my first deer rifle. Bought it for $35 at a pawn shop around 1978. Wish I still had it. Thanks for posting.
Found one in OR in 2016 finally after 3 years looking unfortunately it was Sporterized
bought mine from Turner's Sporting goods in San Bernardino CA back in 1996 for $49.95.....was the only one in the 55 gallon drum that had the brass buttplate and was almost mint.
Walked right out the store the same day with it, no waiting period.
Still have it, still looks mint.
That .303 is INCREDIBLE. The gun that held the British Empire.
Can we have a comparison between.308vs.303vs7.62x54r vs 8mm Mauser vs 30-06
It would be awesome
I said same in the chat ! Welcomed comment, but would like to see FMJ Mil Spec
WHY NOT THE .30-06 INSTEAD, ALL THREE FROM THE SAME ERA!!🤷♂️
@@Plainsimple67 I forgot I also have M80 ball , M2 ball, 7.62R ball, 7.92M ball. Send info to Adam. I'm not far from Heavy Metal!! I'm lucky
And the japanese 7.7.
@@johncee853 someone else will need to pony up. I've got only 4 that I've mentioned. If not seen check my comments. Thanks you are correct
I like the Mosin Nagant, powerful and ammo is cheaper but the 303 is a fine round as well. I know lots of older hunters that use the 303 for deer hunting.
I've dropped two elk with a. 303. Both were around 100 yards or less, but dropped them none the less.
The camera being hit by the piece of clay was kind of cool. We need to build a kiln for you, shove some of these creations in there and fill up a gallery 😀
Hey how about a compilation video of every round he owns blowing up clay blocks!
I love my 303 British. It was the second rifle I ever purchased, and I took several deer with it before I bought my next rifle. Nothing I hit went more than a few yards with that thing!
Gotta love the 303
Side by side with paper plates and water jugs would be awesome!
The 303 is a great hunting rife, I have shot many Red Deer in New Zealand with my number 4 303.
my first, a 1896 MLE carbine(RIC, NZ carbine) bought about 1979 still have it in 2021 still original
@@garycarlin4732 I still have my number 4 mk1 (T) 303 with a side mount scope that my father used in WW2 as his sniper rifle. Still original condition.
@@ralphorr8138nice is that tapped to the side of the receiver?
@@kradikt666 yes it is
@@ralphorr8138The No4 MkI (T) didn't have a side-mount scope. Mine is top mount. I think you have a repro, or just a No4 with a scope.
I've owned 3 303 Brits and love everyone of them .I've hunted moose and deer and they are no joke. No tracking required. Great video!
Awesome!
No skinning either 😆
I’ve hunted with both calibers and I can say they both insta-dropped everything I shot at so I can’t complain.
Pair of nice rifles! I have used similar bullet loads with a .303 to make camels fall down, major pest animal here in Australia. Such a shame the woodwork was butchered.
The British 303 is an awesome deer rifle. Seen many deer drop 2 feet straight to the ground.
Great for moose here in Canada
real metis ppl say 3030 is not powerful enough but killed more moose then any gun
I'd give that one to the .303 by a hair. Both very impressive, love your work Who_Tee!
Got to give props to the 303 Enfield. Wish I could find a MK4 at a semi decent price.
Both these rounds have a history as sniper rounds in the same class as the 30-06 and for good reason. Results are devastating.
Truth. Well said.
Our grandfathers carried the 1903 Springfield rifles in 30 06 in WWI and WWII pretty equivalent rifles to their Mosin and Enfield counterparts. All three of them about 9 lbs rifles with heavy bullets for combat loadouts, cans of C-rations, etc... Pretty impressive," back when men were men." Great video, would love to see a 1903 Springfield if you can get your hands on one.
Love the clay block videos and the 303 Brit is one of my favorites.
ty for showing 2 excellent relics of History. Just Imagine back then getting hit with either one of those as they had little or no armor. The wound cavity was impressive. I give the win to the mosin. The 50 at the end nice touch. So glad to be part of this channel
.303 British over the Nagant hands down!!
Cut my teeth hunting with a .303 Brit just like that one up here in Canada.
Great video!!
P14 canadian here
Hands down.😒
Just saved one from certainly a bad fate . What an outstanding rifle, I was just a kid in the 90s when those were being for sold for cheap in box stores in northern Michigan . Glad I found one
Both of those rifles are awesome! In WWI & II the British soldiers were trained to use those 303's & they could make 1,000 yard kill shots easily. Russia used the Mosin Nagant in WWII as a sniper rifle & it was quite devastating too!
Viet-Cong also used M9130 Mosin-Nagant sniper rifles.
The good old .303 SMLE was the rifle that most of my generation started their deer stalking with here in NZ. They were also issued to government deer cullers, using original iron sights, who were allowed as I recall, three rounds per deer killed and the tail taken as proof.
It is a great bush round and accurate in almost all local shooting conditions here. However, time marches on and I, like most of my peers finished up with the full stainless scoped up tool of today's hunter.
However, i still have an immaculate original fully wooded number 4 which i still get a kick out of shooting on the range. Great rifles.
Nice just got my 1st .303 today. Looking forward to trying it out. Have a mosin too love using it also in nz
These clay videos are some of my favorites. Never ceases to amaze me the way the clay reacts, love the slow motion 👍
Appreciate you watching Anthony
I thought that the Lee Enfield No. Mark III ( 3) packed the most punch,..then again, it depends on the loading of the cartridge you used. Both rifles packed a pretty fair wallop on those blocks.
Great stuff to watch, wasn't it?
That .303 was a 180 grain and it's packing around 2500 fpe. It's no slouch.
303 I got in 1974 for 30.00 dollars and box shell at general store in Missiouri.and back then I got box of reloads 5.00 a box.
Me and my friend both are from Missouri and the first center fire rifles we ever got was 2 lee enfield No4 MK1 303 rifles
For sure do a hunt with those guns, open sights, that would be about to be a really fun video!
303 dump was pretty impressive.
Thanks for doing this video. I have both rifles and honestly I didn't expect that much carnage out of those 2 work horses. My favorite is the 54r. Thanks Who Tee Who.
Used to see the 303 in Wisconsin deer woods from the older guys 30 years ago
I bought the same gun you used in 303 British about 20 years ago. 35 to 75 dollars anywhere. Now they are in the hundreds.
That was awesome brother! That 303 British surprised me! I’d love to see you deer hunt with either of them! Thanks for all you do brother!🤘🏽🍻🇺🇸👊🏽
I killed my first deer with my 1915 303
@ Sc 1911-was it a lead tip hunting round or a FMJ ?
I've got a 1906 mk1 lee enfield in 303 and I love it. It's definitely a powerhouse. If you're getting into these older cartridges, I would love to see you shoot some 35 remington!
Have a 1905 ShtLE 1*, had all matching numbers until about40 years ago, when had to swap the bolt body to get better head spacing, retaining original bolt head
Sweet....I always loved the rifle cartridges from that era. All great for whitetail and clay blocks!
Boy that 303 really makes a guy think I should get one of them someday. But then again I need me a Mosin to. Who-tee-who
Cool to use the old ones
303s used to be super common here in Canada as surplus rifles. They were cheap and plentiful. Now they're hard to find in original condition as most have been sporterized. Many meals put on tables in Canada with a surplus SMLE 303
Another great video, as an Aussie ex serviceman, and a licensed shooter, I cant have a semi auto, most people cant, I do love my 303's. I do have a few 303's including a couple wildcats in 303-270 and 303-25. Love the action, love the caliber, and 10 round magazine who can ask for more. For their age the do all the tasks put upon them well. haven't had or shot a Mosin, but we need to justify why we NEED, not want a new rifle. Keep up the good work.. Rule 303.
Great video brother. Love my Mosin. I really wanna find a 303 British. Still looking. Keep on cranking out the videos.
Love that Lee Enfield 303 Brit. 100 years old and still packs a punch.
It's quite possible that more than a few Germans met their maker courtesy of these rifles, and in two wars.
When i lived in South Africa I owned a SME Lee Enfield No 1 Mk 3 full stock with original brass butt plate and cleaning kit inside the butt, small brass trap door opened to store the kit! Loved the 174 grains, excellent penetration on Blesbok, did not waste meat, the 7.7 mm travelling around 2600 FPS, but a beautiful old girl, nice for 50 - 60 yard open sight shots. There were many of these after the Anglo Boer war in South Africa 1899 - 1902. Even used 303 British in SA army up to the late 1960s. Then Belgian FN 7.62 NATO and then in ‘91 I used the Israeli military industries 5.56 x 45. Loved this video Adam
Oh awesome! Thanks for watching Zane!
Love the 303 British videos keep it up
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
It's cool to see those old rifles in action, and to see the slow motion video of the clay blocks exploding.
Thank you.
I'm a huge fan of both rifles but if I had to choose,,,,, it would be the Mosin.
Both of those rifles slapped that clay pretty hard. A dear hunting video with either of em would be awesome.
Glad you uploaded this. I have a Lee Enfield and Mosin Nagant I like to use a lot.
I think the 7.62x54r did a better job on that clay. I do believe they make FMJ for the 303. Would be cool to see what FMJ would do to modern body armor / clay and maybe even a paper plate test.
303 FMJ, army surplus, penetrates 18 inches of pine at 100 yards.
During the Great War 1914-18 , we used cut down versions of the SMLE issued to the tunnellers and mining brigades for CQB underground . The British and Commonwealth miners would often encounter German tunnellers intercepting the mines and tunnels underground and this .303 round would be used at very close range to dispatch German tunnelers . I have a deactivated tunnel gun constructed from the previous issue of Long Lee Enfield that first saw action with the Naval Brigades at Antwerp at the start of WW1.
The Battle of Antwerp seems to have been almost erased from history by the film industry , but it was the first action in that conflict .
The SMLE you own has been sporterised and rebarelled and you may be lucky to have one with a Parker Hale sport barrel fitted which would deliver 1000+ yard accuracy all day long . The SMLE was the best (by far) bolt action rifle issued by any side during WW1 and 2 . By using the thumb and forefinger to rack the the bolt and the index or 'spin on it ' finger to operate the trigger , you can empty a 10 round magazine in no time at all with a little practice . Stuck cases can be removed with the issue penknife as the bolt head does not go deep inside inside the chamber like the Mosin or Mauser which requires a cleaning rod or other means to remove a stuck round or case often injuring the operator .
Nicely done man! I have both and have taken animals with both. Both of mine perform great with my hand loads.
When shooting expanding rifle rounds, put the clay blocks end to end so it travels to explode more of the clay
💪💪
Well, considering the .303 was a round from an era when infantry soldiers were expected to take down horses, no surprises that the round is powerful.
Hey Who Tee. I'd have to say the .303. My cousin from the province of Quebec, shot a Moose with it. Canada, being within the realm of Britain and Queen Elizabeth, was able to provide the best game dinner I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, there are many calibers that would have dropped a Moose, but hunting, the story, the meal, the memories.... are what make up my post. I'm sure you, and many other hunters who sit by cabins, campfires and just plain memories would understand. Sometimes it goes beyond ballistic graphs, eh?
Absolutely. I would love to hunt moose
just started it and already like it. This will be a fun video
Good comparison! Thanks for all the great videos.
Thanks for watching Jeff!
That was AWESOME! I like the
.303 however I sure do enjoy shooting the Mosin! 👍🏻
Always wanted a Garbage Rod... Awesome stuff man, thanks!
Love the soft points .... that's what we use to essplode stuff like water melon and water jugs.
Love my 1944 M-44 Mosin Nagant in 7.62x54r the fireballs it shoots are fun, and when people who don't know what it is are shooting with me it's fun to let them have first shot to see the reaction
I do the same thing with my M44. I have yet to find some who hates my Mosin. Unless there right beside it when it's being shot.
First rifle I ever shot as a young boy was my great grandfather's 303, great memories.
Awesome!
Another great vid.....enjoyed...thank you
You should try it with the clay Lengthwise so it's going through more clay. But very cool anyways so keep them coming
You just made all us Canucks happy. If you are a big game hunter in Canada you probably had at one time, and likely still have, a .303 SMLE rifle. Built to last and reliable as the tides. Kind regards from 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching Lyle
I have a Lee Enfield Mk-4....in 303 British...Bought it at K-Mart for $70.00 right out the crate back in the early 1990's...had a devil of a time cleaning that packing grease off of it
Nice and fun video like always.
Thanks!!!
Thanks for watching Laurent!
Absolutely love the 303british...
Definitely want one.
Love the videos keep them coming
Very cool video I just love when you blow stuff up I love both had to choose between the two
Yes we want a 303 deer hunting video, and also looks like the 303 kicks quite a bit harder than the other one
I have a couple of mosins and love them but that 303 really cleaned the table.
i love whoteewho's commentary
Thanks for watching
Love watching these old war relics belch out some bullets. I’m a fan for any of those old guns doesn’t matter what they are. Both of them had a little bit different effect on the clay but I’d have to give it a pretty even score and tie it up. I have seen in mosin with a SoftPoint bullet from about 50 yards drop a 220 pound hog straight down to the ground didn’t run an inch and had plenty of power to spare. Those old war horses are true power houses.
Earlier I checked out your video on the 303 from a few months ago and alot of people were commenting on how sacrilegious it was that your rifle was "sporterized" ...I mean if your a era correct collector than whatever but I personally love the way yours looks,if I ever have a opertunity at a 303 I want one like you got. I like it!!
Thanks Wolfman
That was some awsome slow motion footage!
I still use my .303 British as my Deer and Hog gun. Hopefully soon I’ll get the opportunity to hunt a Bull Elk with it, or a Moose. I’ll definitely appreciate if you made a video you hunting deer or a hog with your .303 British.
Ooh awesome
"The name is Block. Clay Block." He wasn't a very good secret agent. lol
Love the enfields. Best actions and power equal to any other .30 cal rounds
Both have a ton of usable power in other words BANG and things EXPLODE
Boom boom
I've got a Mosin and I am happy with it. If I ever need to take out a deer in the next zip code it'll do the job just fine. Great video!
You should do a slow mo clay explosion compilation.
Going to do that eventually
I think he just did, were you napping?
@@sharonw2475
No he did not.
Were YOU napping? Or perhaps you don't know what compilation means?
But hey; thanks for the unwarranted ugly remark.
always keen on more 303 videos
👍👍 I hear you
Those 303's are bad smoked a doe at 60 yards open sights , heck of a long rang brush type of gun. . Love the action and heck of a deer gun or bigger game. Those round nose surprised me .Peace be safe Hillbilly Tim
Hey wtw got my reminder set Looks like this will be a good one
Hey Keith! Hope you are having a good week
I should have guessed mosin. That's an awesome video!
Hey gunman!
There's 2 more old milsurps il forever kick myself for not getting back when they were nearly free.
Awesome video, very surprised with the 303!!
🇬🇧Been reading some WW1 history and have visited some of the battlefields in France and Belgium. I came across your video….I’m speechless ! I had no idea the power of the 303. If you were hit in the chest it’s game over and looking at that clay, Jesus , it would literally take your head off I imagine 😳
I bought a 303 41 years ago. Chamber so shot out that accuracy was non existent. My son bought a Mosin. That booger was a lead chucking machine and very accurate!
I have the intense urge to rescue that 1912 from its sporterized prison.
Incredible amount of SPALLLLAAAT! Both did a great job. Thanks for sharing!
Just shows that a 100 year old plus cartridge can still get it done ... even against the latest and greatest new marketed round 👍🏼
New ones are mostly designed to do couple jobs better than old war horses but raw output
is not one of those.
Nice video! Those rounds were way more 'splodie in that clay than I expected.
.303 is my fave. Yup, that Enfield has been brutalized by Bubba.
Adam, can you please do a video of 9.3X62 Mauser shot at clay blocks? I think that would be spectacular.
Is the rounder 303 tip makes it punch a little harder on the clay..??
Sadly like most .303s the one demonstrated has been "sporterized" robbing it of any collectable value. The SMLE was the rifle that most Kiwis of my generation started their hunting lives with, many with a home made adaption like the one shown and for the lucky few a Monte Carlo stock or a full factory conversion. It's a great bush round for deer and pigs, not being prone to deflection in scrub and as shown plenty of stopping power. The round was developed over many years as the rifle in it's many forms was in use as a military issue for many decades where it proved it's worth. I am lucky to have one of the number 4s that were sold to current and ex servicemen when they ere were finally replaced and it is still one of my favourite rifles to shoot, on the range only now but fun none the less.
2 beautiful old guns thx for sharing them
That was pretty cool WTW! Those rifle calibers did a number on the clay blocks. Be cool to see the 303 vs the 54R in a paper plate or milk jug test!
