- There have been very little rumors about the Apple Watch Series 9 this year which may point to a pretty small update with the current rumors suggesting that the Series 9 is getting a new S9 chip, and a new pink color option with the only change on the Apple Watch ultra being a new black titanium version... it sounds like Apple may be putting all its resources into a bigger update on the Series X.

It’s all hype no matter who’s saying it you’ll buy the product and realise it’s not really that different from last year. I mean no matter what iPhone you get or watch it all looks the same and works the same just a little set of different actions here and there.
Wouldn't it be more reasonable that Apple skips Series 9, and go straight to Series X announcement?
Apple is not known to make choices that are sensible for us consumers
I’m still using the series 4, working perfectly and with all the info I need. A new one would be great, but I don’t really feel I need it yet.
I own an Apple watch 7 and it works just fine, except for the 36h recharging requirement.
There are 2 features Apple could introduce, that would make me get a new watch: either 72+ hours battery life or a reliable glucometer.
...& I would like a way of measuring blood pressure. Perhaps something like a pressure adjustment watchband?
Sounds like you need the Ultra Watch. I use it all day and night...and I recharge it every 2-3 days or when sitting by the charger. It charges super fast.
Two out of three Apple Watch buyers are new to the product. Apple has talked about this at their investor meetings. Most Watch buyers aren’t comparing to last year’s model. They just want the latest version.
That's exactly me! Have tons of apple products and want a watch too, although I don't *absolutely* need it. Guess I'm a fangirl, fml. Now I'm unsure if it would be wiser to get the 8 (currently 480 EUR over here) and upgrade to the 10 if I fall in love with the watch (if not, just stay wiith 8) or buy the 9 and then upgrade later ...
I wasn't sure about the value of an Apple Watch until I got one. While it might seem expensive (depending on how you look at it), considering all the capabilities it offers, it's truly worth the investment. It's essential to remember that it's not just a watch; it's a small computer on your wrist that can literally save your life (Justine serves as a well-known example).

@@GH0STST4RSCR34M The Garmin is a more specific product, it's not something everyone cares about. Apple Watch is for those who are into fitness but also like the features within the eco-system like answering calls or leaving the phone behind and using the watch as a phone and music player, payments, notifications. it's a different target and product. Apple Watch by market share alone shows it's more for the masses.

one of the smallest updates ever is 7 to 8, not 8 to 9 since there's at least the chip update for the first time since 3 years and most importantly, because of that chip, we will have a better battery life; I have the series 5 right now, and planning to update to 9; I am skeptical about the X since there's always a tendency to increase the sizes (iPhone of next year so most probably Apple Watch X); I'm a small tech lover and I love my regular iPhone 13 Pro as well as my 40mm Apple Watch 5; so upgrading to iPhone 15 pro and Apple Watch 9 41mm is a no brainer for me
A chip upgrade would be nice as battery life is the biggest issue with the watch vs a Fitbit. Not sure else what they can upgrade. I’d like some more heart scanning features and more advanced determinations, but a lot of that is a pure software upgrade. The 7 to 8 upgrade was seriously the worst of all time.
I still have the 5. Nothing wrong with it, fully plan on keeping for a couple more years.
I’ve just got my first Apple Watch 5. Very happy. Charge lasts 24 hours. Hope it lasts for a couple of years.🤗⌚️

Still the best apple channel. Sure, I've switched to Garmin as I don't want to charge my watch during a 4 night backpacking trip, but Greg's videos are still top notch for staying up to speed on the gadgets.
I doubt it will happen, but if they bring back the ceramic model I may upgrade because I regret not having a ceramic watch. I love that thing and its so rare to see one.

I just bought an SE 2 last week. My Series 3 screen cracked so I needed a replacement. For me, the SE is already a significant improvement over the Series 3. While the Series 9 is coming soon, the SE will be staying the same since they just updated it last year.
If Apple brings the glucose monitoring system to the watches, it will make an outstanding bump up in watch sales regardLESS of the price.

..Yet you didn’t appear to mention the utterly fantastic Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen (2022). I currently have/and own it in : 44mm Starlight; it’s updated by me to latest IOS and absolutely no complaints. Was wondering why you felt that this series wasn’t worth a mention ? ~ Cheers, and thank you.

As some smaller arm people complained about having a smaller apple watch Ultra, that would be nice as well I am using a smaller one in generation 5 and instead of updating the battery I will upgrade to the current version.

Series 10 will be my first Apple Watch, hopefully with a max amount of accurate health sensors.

Honestly wish Apple would develop a teens version watch that has parental control options in a watch that’s not over $200
The SE in my opinion is the best one if that’s what you’re looking for. And since yours is a teen they probably have a phone so my problems won’t effect you . The watch has school mode so he can’t text or do anything while at school and it tells you if they unlock it and how many times they did. I have it for my 8 year old and it’s perfect cause his watch is connected to my watch app on my phone in family mode so I can pretty much see and control most things he’s doing. I like it cause when I’m at carpool I can text him to make sure he’s coming they keep them in class it’s a whole thing but I can also track him which in todays world to me is important. I actually got it for him after all these school shootings for emergencies because it scared me. But back to what I like if he’s at a birthday party where it’s like a big place a trampoline type place I can walkie talkie him. The only thing I don’t like is the watch has no way of getting service if you’re on a ship so if he’s at camp on a cruise ship his watch is basically useless. Which sucks cause I’d love for walkie talkie mode to work in a cruise. We live in Florida cruises are easy and the best way to vacation. If Apple could get WiFi to somehow connect on the watch when you have to go to a site to connect the watch would be literally perfect to me.

I feel like you say "wait for next year" every year when it comes to the Apple Watch. That said I enjoy your videos overall!
Personally, in terms of hardware requests, my biggest is simply a faster processor and better battery. I would also love the addition of the extra button like on the Ultra. This expected update is all I really want. Anything beyond those things is just a plus.
People seem to get frustrated by repeated physical designs, but I’d rather see companies stick to a physical design that works for a few years and focus more on feature/software concepts, and thoroughly tested physical redesigns. Too much short sighted, “need it now”, dopamine trigger seeking energy out there for me.

Never had an Apple Watch. I was looking at the Series 9 to buy on Black Friday sale. I’m glad you mentioned the possibility of having microLED in Series 10. When you said microLED could prevent burns. Now I will continue to wait (I’ve been waiting the last 5 years to invest in an Apple Watch). All the fitbits I have owned I’ve had to return because they kept burning my skin. I’ve always had an iPhone, therefore, have always wanted an Apple Watch but could never let myself spend that much money on a watch! Hence the long wait of investing to buy an Apple Watch. What is a few more years to wait? LOL! I definitely see the benefit (for me) to wait until Apple releases a watch with the microLED because I do have very sensitive skin that is easily burned. I have the 7 nike series that I got second hand, previous owner used for 3 months and sold it, well, I use it to skip music while in the pool, see notifications and that's it, not the fitness kinda guy so I guess at least for me, there's nothing that would make me buy another one, we'll see but I don't see a big change that make the upgrade worth

The Apple Watch updates have been a disappointment since at least 3-4 years
I think the Series 5 - 7 were pretty nice updates. Apple Watch Ultra was also a nice surprise last cycle.

I have a series 5 and cannot wait to upgrade. It doesn’t work properly in the pool anymore, it keeps turning off when in workout mode, won’t pick up my pulse, goes suddenly from 14% battery to flat. I’ve been a pretty active user so maybe that’s why it has worn out a lot?

I have a series 7 and I would like the series 9 but if it doesn’t wow me with I must get this then might not bother . I prefer a bigger screen , being able to watch videos , a week long battery life - don’t see that happening

Was very disappointed with the 6. It lasted two years with normal use. My old Fitbit lasted four. I am going with a Garmin this time as I like the fitness features. I am sure I will own an Apple Watch again, but will have to see how much the durability and battery life/quality improve.
Complaining about obsolete watch bands is like complaining that your former phone cases don't fit your current phone

Please take a look at what Garmin is doing (Epix 2 pro or Fenix 7 pro) There's no way I'm getting another Apple watch (after series 2 and 5) unless the Apple Watch get to the Garmin level.

Two different types of watches; I have the Fenix 6 Pro Solar and I wouldn’t put it in the same realm as my Apple Watch Ultra. The garmin is a hybrid watch, it’s not as smart as my Apple Watch.

Not buying anymore Apple Watch unless they offer more than 2 days battery life. And yes, I’m not buying ULTRA, it’s way too expensive. Also most of the time processor upgrade adds certain capabilities and less on power management. Even if there’s one it’s minor. I’ll buy Apple Watch 15. Will not buy another one, until my series 8 dies.

With Apple, it's never worth it to upgrade if you have the prior year or two model, of any of their products. It's been the case for many years now. Every year they come out with a new model #, and hype it up as the best, and there might be some technical capabilities that are better, but for a typical user, you can't really feel any difference from one year to another.
That’s the problem with today’s technology, in just one year your holding old tech.
Knowing apple, they will probably create a piece that goes on the old bands to fit on the new watch design.

Missing the elephant in the room - the degradation in battery life almost forced an upgrade every 2 years otherwise the sell on value just tanks.
