Mitsubishi killed off the EVO in 2016, after ten generations, with fans being torn over which one is the best, and a decades-long rivalry with the blue team. A lot of people would wish for a revival of the Lancer Evo, but is that possible and should it happen?

If they brought it back now it would be heavy and ugly while being extremely americanised like the current wrx

But then why are Nissan & Toyota still able to put out decent sports cars & utilitarian sporty cars?
Mitsubishi totally "could".
They just never will.
Nissan has the GT-R which is slowly dying, and the 400z which is a refreshed 370z with a different engine, or a rebadged existing Infiniti, whichever you prefer. And it's only sold in very few countries, excluding Europe.
Toyota on the other hand is better off, the GR86 is quite cool although I still think they're not going to make a new one after that, the Supra is definitely cool but mostly just a rebadged BMW at the end of the day with a front end that's questionable, and then you have the GR Yaris and Corolla which are the modern day Evo equivalents. I definitely wish it was in sedan or coupe form like the 90s and 00s instead of a small city hatchback, but the GR Yaris is mad!
This will give more sales to Toyota, through the GR line Yaris or whatever, Mitsubishi is almost better off dead
Nissan has turned into a joke after the partnership with Renault
