- I took a BIG RISK and bought my dream car (Mitsubishi Evolution 8) from copart sight unseen on the other side of the country. I had no idea what we would find or even if the car ran but what we found was very interesting to say the least!!!

Tvarish my dad spent 400$ trying to fix bank 1 and 2 too lean on our 2007 kia sedona and he cant find jt lol and emissions is tomorow oof
Edit: after 2 months it was the fuel pump. It said too lean and too rich but now fixed. Also hate to be thus guy but tysm for 1 like

Evo owner here! I have a fully built apex silver 8 as well and can shine some light on a few things for you. The car appears to be on basic bolt ons, otherwise completely stock with a tune. It should be good for a solid 350 wheel as it sits but the car will probably need a proper tune for 93 and ethanol since it’s at sea level now. With how clean the motor seems you can easily get the car up to a reliable 550-600 wheel on stock block. The washer fluid tank sits in the trunk on the right hand side, everything is connected through the reservoir to spray the intercooler and front/rear glass. It was probably carelessly deleted when the intercooler was upgraded. I know you’ve been sourcing lancer parts so luckily things are cheap to replace to a certain extent, minus the driveline. Good luck and enjoy it!
I am a Evo x lover, and learning how to fix cars in highschool I wish to experiance something like this aswell its just so cool to see someone so happy on a car just starting. Keep the good work and hopefully you succeed in life man!

Finally a rebuild from someone who has actual technical expertise and not just a tryhard mechanic you see often on youtube.
You guys seem like two friends having fun while getting it done. It is awesome and the result is really great when its so genuine.

The Evos from that generation all came with an intercooler sprayer from the factory. Switch for it is right behind the shifter.
Can’t wait to binge all these episodes. I had an 03 and it was the best car I ever owned. So much fun to drive in the snow!

I know of the person who owned this car. He worked where I used to work. When the car was crashed, the person was alone in the car with an aftermarket steering wheel and when it went to copart, he replaced the aftermarket steering wheel with the stock one.

My dad has an 06 MR. Fastest car I've ever driven. I had a 240sx at the time. Driving Dad's car then going back to my car made me sad. I miss AWD.

Glad to see an evo get restored and not parted out.
That is the intercooler sprayer. Evos with AYC had intercooler spray botyles on the driver side. Windshield wiper fluid can be found in the trunk passanger side.
Evos can be converted to speed density on stock ecus, good luck!

I owned an evo 8 back in 2014 and sold it for waaaaay less than they are going for now(twice actually 😅)and always regretted it. Recently got back into another 8 so I know that joy!!! Best of luck!

the evo 789 was always my dream car and i bought an 8 about a decade ago. Jack, all i can say is from day 1 of ownership - all the maintenance, mods, driving it... it's been nothin' but a pleasure and i truly mean that! the only downside in my opinion to owning an evo, is its just made driving every other car out there so shit. lookin' fwd to the evo content and respect to u for keeping another evo alive! may your evo be a blessing n joy to u!
