I have bought the Wimberley flash bracket after seeing this review and find it of excellent quality but very expensive. As I use my flash wirelessly I also purchased the Wimberley flash shoe clamp for holding the flash and that is very good as well, gripping the flash tightly with no slippage. If you are prepared to spend the money you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
Nice tut, Glen! I look forward to more.
Glenn please talk about how you attach the bracket to the gimbal head?
I recommend the wimberly version
Hi! Will the custom bracket fit onto a Wimberley gimbal Side-kick Head?
Hi Glenn. Great video as usual.
Just thought I'd share some info. you may find interesting....I have a Canon 400/2.8 lens and just started using the "Acratech Long Lens Head"...it cost a lot less than my gimbal head and is not only really small, but weighs less than 1 lb. Considering it is so light and small compared to the gimbal head and works just as well, it seems really superior. It also works as a great regular tripod head, so I don't need to carry another head for all the other stuff
Great vid! I see that Custom Brackets has a ton of models, but I don't see any particular one mentioned here or on your website-- which specific one do you recommend?
Thanks again for sharing tips so generously- your articles are really helpful.
Hello Glen, could you please give me the name of the extension module? Thanks!
All equipment is linked on my website in the gear tab. Cheers!
Nice Video !!
I had bought a couple of cheapish ones but they were absolute rubbish, They were not very robust and couldn’t tighten locking knobs etc so the flash would be at all different angles. A couple of years ago I decided to take the plunge and go for the Wimberley, and I have not been disappointed. Everything locks tight and rigid with no slipping it’s a bit expensive but extremely good quality. Unfortunately you have to pay dear for quality.
Anything from Wimberly is top notch. Buy once - cry once as they say...
It would be much more useful if you would attach the bracket and flash to your wimberly to show a beginner like me how it all goes together.
Sweet!
I made mine for 20.00 dollars works great too, the 150+ dollars went towards my 600ex-rt

Nice work, $300 for a few brackets is nuts. I'm working on building my own.
Does the download have the directions on how to make it? Thank you in advance.
Michael Phillips I'm very impressed, it looks far from "homemade".
How do you storge them away in you bag?
I usually just keep mine mounted on the wimberly head. They are not fragile so you can just chuck em in your suitcase.
GFM bracket @ B&H $99.00
Great review, but honestly 250 dollars for a few bits of metal and a few screws. That's kind of ridiculous, it's no rocket science!
If its for something you love - invest in the best!
Great Video Thanks for the instruction. btw i spent 320$. You kind of get what you pay for in the photo world.
