Hi Neil. Great video, as always. I recently purchased a M7060 and your videos factored massively into my buying decision (I'm on the West Coast otherwise would have purchased from your shop). In a previous video you asked for suggestions for new videos, so I have one. It is undoubtedly a departure from your current format but please give a moment to consider it... You've mentioned many of your customers are first-time tractor buyers. I am as well, and in general I'm new to farming. Loving it, but still a newbie. I wonder if you would consider a series where you interview extremely seasoned, professional farmers about things they wished they'd known when they started. For example, you have a video on how to operate the draft controls, but I'd love to hear a _lesson_ on the subject from a professional farmer with a lot of years behind the wheel. Someone who could give both an overview and detail many nuances and gotchas. Perhaps a series on how to use various implements together to do common jobs (tillage, clearing, etc.). There are a million more ideas in this vein, all revolving around the idea that you could promote tractor education using your channel as a platform. My grandfather was a D9 Cat operator for years and I was too young to learn it from him before he passed. I sure wish he'd been able to pass some of his knowledge down, and this is the inspiration for this comment. Thank you again for your videos and your consideration.

I would really like to do more with other people. The problem has been most people are very camera shy and not interested in talking. As we're a dealership, I'm also careful of not giving someone the impression that we're exploiting them. .... now if someone volunteered :-)

    Neil,
Just bought an M4D-071. Will be delivered in about a week. I noticed on the right rear door jam, there’s an ear with two holes. I assume it’s for mounting hay and gps display. However, I can’t find anything that tells me how to use it. Please make a short video that addresses this hard point. Also, would love in the same video a tutorial on mounting displays and options in the cab. Your the best on RUclips for explaining Kubota equipment. Thanks.

I bought a m4d-071 in october 2019 in liveoak fla. The air struggles if it is over 85 outside, it has the 320/70/24 tires on the front with a loader and sitting still the front wheels only turn 1/4 of the way and stop until you move, dealer and kubota say it is operating within specs and tint your windows. Great engineering kubota!!!!!!!

My m6060 has the constant RPM button, if you have hills and need a constant rpm on an implement it will hold it steady for u instead of going up and down, the reason u may not leave it on is it uses more fuel to hold the rpms steady, it increases fuel use under load to maintain rpm. So u can turn it off and potentially save a bit of fuel, if that matter to anyone, lol

Thanks for another informative video Niel. I just got a 2012 M7040 garage kept with 435 hrs. I honestly would not trade it for the M7060 or M4D-071. Aside from being pre-Tier4, I like the manual PTO engagement and I like all the other bits that aren't electronic. The more electronics the more opportunities there are for issues. I do like the hand brake on the newer models. The M7040 also has the two position pin on the loader for 10% greater lifting capacity. Tomorrow I install the rear window wiper kit for snow removal duties and this summer I'll add the Grammer air ride base as well. I'm sure it's a very nice tractor and will be perfect for a lot of people. I just prefer the more simplified design of the M7040.

I looked at both of them very closely but still went with the HDC12 with radials, cast wheels and 3 remotes. Just did not like the controls in the new M4, especially the big console thing hanging off the steering wheel. The M7060 may be an old model, but its a really good design with the bugs ironed out. I would never buy a first year edition of any machine, dont want to be a guinea-pig for the Kubota R&D guys.

Neil, thank you for all of your super insightful videos! Has been so helpful to me as a first-time tractor purchaser. Definitely feel a lot more confident in making a purchase. I live in Europe now, and am looking at a Kubota M4072, which looks like a very similar spec to the M4D-071 you feature in this video. I'd like a backhoe with this tractor, but Kubota doesn't seem to offer them on these machines here. The dealer is recommending a hoe which attaches via 3-point hitch. I've watched your other video warning of potential frame bending/cracking with this type of mounting, depending on the tractor it is being attached to. The M4072 has a cat 2 rear hitch and is a utility tractor with 74 hp. Do you foresee any problems with this set up? The backhoe is from Argnani e Monti in Italy. I can't find much information on this company, so that is another question mark. Appreciate any advice from you or the community on this. Thank you so much!
