As one who camps with cats (who like yours, typically travel very well), I literally LOL at "They were singing the song of their people." I'm still chuckling. I love this vblog because you are so real from the mac n' cheese to the goof-up. I live in FL in the winter & am surprised you were able to get a reservation in February on short notice. This is the first I'm hearing about Arvie & it sounds great. I can see value in the Sprouts meals in a pinch too. On those hectic travel days cooking is a challenge & I can be too tired to even go out @ times. Thanks a bunch!

Oh my gosh, Charity, Ben, kids, Alaska and kitties, you're in our area! We're just up the road from Homosassa Springs State Park, outside Crystal River, stop in!! One of the reasons we have an RV is that we have two dogs, we take them RV'ing with us wherever we go, I wouldn't consider going without them. I'm shocked to hear of a campground that doesn't allow pets - as nice as that one may be, we'll scratch it off our list! At this time of year, you never know what the weather may be, warm (hot) one day and cold (for Florida) the next! Great video, always like how you guys do them, informative and humorous at the same time! Safe travels.

My sister, daughter, and I inadvertently swam with a manatee at Blue Spring State Park (one of our favorite places). The manatee was in the swimming area, and we could see that everyone was on the dock watching it. We decided to swim to the head spring so we wouldn't be near the manatee. That darn thing swam upstream. We were on a big, bright green blow-up alligator float (we were the envy of every 5 year old in the park!). When the manatee got close to us, it turned toward us and swam beneath us. It was amazing. We quickly exited to spring. It was the most amazing thing!

We camped at Fort Desoto, which is amazing, and while swimming near the pier and the fort, two manatees swam about two yards from us. Didn’t have a mask so I couldn’t see underwater. It was a little frightening at first but they stayed close by and it was very cool.

Aww~ how fun for everyone...well, almost everyone. Poor Alaska had to stay in...w/the cats, which who knows, maybe they're all great friends?
When I lived in FL for a couple yrs, it was in the Melbourne/Indian Harbour beach area, & we had manatees literally everywhere. The neighborhoods built around & along the rivers were full of them, to the point you had to be careful putting around in row boats & paddle boats because they're very playful (when they want to be) & could flip your boat! Watched that happen more than once =)

I swam with manatees one time about 20 years ago. I was visiting my dad in Punta Gorda. We were in the Burnt Store Marina and my stepmom lost her footing and was about to go over the lifeline. I grabbed her and got her pulled in but in the process I went over. I entered the water about five feet from one of the water cows. It wanted to investigate me so we hung out for a few minutes while I waited for my dad to turn around and come back to get me. I’ve spent a lot of time on an around the water either on sailboats or my time in the Marines- and none of it came close to that 10ish minutes.

A few thoughts for you, Florida weather is bipolar! We can have multiple seasons in a single day. There are a lot of campgrounds in Florida that are dog free. Make sure you check with each one. If you are traveling out west, Montana is the most cat unfriendly place I’ve ever been. Couldn’t get motel rooms there because we were moving 3 cars from Florida to Washington St.

There's a camp ranger they call her the Nazi, Gestapo, she is harsh and rude. I know there's rules and people make mistakes and there's a nice way to tell people they have to leave but she is not nice about it.
I have heard not even cats in the camper are allowed.
Now Tillis is county park but the outer forest and rds are state. The horse stalls at Tillis is are on state property. Horses are not allowed on county property.
