If you plan to go and buy to use in your RV take a note pad with all the storage area's measurements with you. It pays to measure and get what will fit.
Don't live in a rv but I do have a sm house and I love the srubb the gray zipper things I love them we use them under our beds to for seasonal cloths or for the blankets/sheets for that person bed I do want go get some of them clear zipper things for more blankets to store in the basement I'm ocd so I'm crazy for Organization lol I do like to keep the bags blankets sets come in and wen one is taken out the other set gets wash and put back in a bag but over time thy brake so I'm have go get some of them
We went to Ikea recently and I got some of the Parkla bags.....love them. One item that I got and is my favorite thing is Pressa a laundry hanger that has 8 arms, each with 2 clips and it hangs.....great for hanging socks, underwear and other small items to dry. We recently got a small washer for the RV (we are fulltimers) and we hang all our stuff to hang. Just love this hanger because it folds up and you can hang lots of stuff in a small space.....not to mention the cute octopus face! Loved all you ideas and I see another IKEA trip in our near future.
As someone of Nordic background, I recommend checking out the freezer/food section. The salmon and frozen meatballs are convenient for quick meals, plus Daim cake is gluten-free heaven. The Frakta Cooler bag ($3) is a medium-sized, super durable insulated bag with a velcro seal top, it's super handy for everything from picnics to potlucks to transporting cold groceries in warm weather (and vice versa).
I'm really cheap! Recycle the plastic bins from fresh spinach and such. Open them carefully, on only one side, and you have a clear storage container with hinged lid. Works great for light weight stuff... first aid, makeup, hair doo-dads, crafty items, socks, undies, etc. Stack 3 to 5 high. They will snap shut, but don't trust that! Toss when damaged and eat more greens to replace!
I am the same! I have a set of RV storage containers made from empty Kirkland nut tubs. I store everything in them so I don’t have mice snacking on our dry goods. Another container that I LOVE is the biscotti tub. It is very sturdy and 2 of them will hold a bag of ice in an ice chest. It keeps the food dry and I don’t have dirty melted ice. I give my dog the melted water when we are van camping.
I love the blue bag! If you use it at Aldi you can put it in the cart and the cashier will put your groceries in the bag. One Ikea item I love is the scented tea light candles. They also have boards that hold 7 tea lights that are really nice on an outdoor table. Thanks for the storage tips. Love all your videos.
I wish the bins had straight sides rather than angled. Easier to store items and can fit side by side better and possibly fit just one more in the space.
We bought two Ikea cabinets and one trash "drawer" for recycling. We took out our extra couch--which we only used as a dumping ground--and put them there. It's been a great for us. It took a little engineering to anchor them in, but we've been very happy.
I lived in my property for 8 years in my RV, before selling my house and going full-time. I know I needed another cabinet in my bathroom. I knew the size 11x12 would be hard to find, so I went to IKEA! Found the perfect tall cabinet. I looked all around! There certainly lots to help in there!
So true...there sizing is different & has lots more flexibilities...construction abroad is "Space planned different then US of A". A fan of many of there products cause it makes sense, sustainable (green - eco sensitive), I find easy to deal with customer relations etc...thank you for your walk thru......
We bought couple of matching “one off” cabinets doors that were flat and black on one side. Used that to build our toy hauler desk tops. Put 1/2inch plywood down first across the bench supports and then the cabinet doors on top of that. Works amazing.
We found IKEA about 10 yrs ago when I decided to redecorate our house. Hubs was, fortunately, working in a city that had an ikea (only ikea in the state at the time & would have been a 8 hr drive if I had gone in person). He hates shopping but he grudgingly agreed to go pick up what I wanted. 4 hours later he called…. He had been in the store 4 hours walking, looking and yes, buying my list plus more. He still gets teased about it. It is now only a 2-3 hour drive to the nearest store these days so I do some online research and head there each opportunity I have to upgrade, add or just mix up things. Those blue bags are in both vehicles plus RV and house because they are so handy. Thanks for sharing these new products. I see a trip to IKEA in my near future LOL
IKR. I live in Dublin, & before we got an IKEA, we relied on a guy in work whose wife got him to rent a van & take the ferry over to England to stock up on IKEA wishlist items 😁 I've missed browsing the aisles, it's great to be back & see so much new stuff in person. Way better than buying online.
I ordered on line last year from Ikea, those large orange zipper cubes, upright rectangler zebra print zipper bags, and those lovely blue bags with zippers for quilt and pillow storage as well as a bunch of their fabric small bags for small trips. Not all stores carry the bags.
Absolutely - not all IKEAs have everything. I couldn't get any decent quilt storage bags locally and wound up using a Marks & Spencer cooler bag! It was sturdy enough & better than any flimsy thing I saw online.
Love it! Here’s a tip for you all…at the self check out there is a big hook to put the handle of your Frakta bag over so that it will remain stable while you fill it up at checkout!
Great video as always. Some great ideas too. We just happened to pickup that Austral mat late last year - it seemed to be the "just right" size. We don't wear shoes inside either. The mat sits at the top of the stairs with the round rope shoe basket next to it (good spot as forward of the mat and not in the way). The Austral mat seems to really attract stuff off of our shoes or crocs keeping the floor clean (longer).
I absolutely love shopping at IKEA ! I've never got out of IKEA in less than 4 hrs. and less money. Thanks for the walk thru, and I didn't spend a dime shopping with you...
I LOVE those big, blue bags! I'm a traveling yoga teacher, and I can easily fit 10 yoga mats in one of them. I use two more to carry straps, blocks, and blankets. For my home, I need to buy some of those zippered bags.
Use two of the open top bags for my camping items. Regretting I didn't get the zipper version when it came out. Not sure about going full blue bag style with the bucket hat but my hammocks are easy to get out of my hatchback. The next buy will probably be the black and orange storage stuffers.
Yes dust and dirt safe containment. Better with Vacuum seal ones that shrink to compress for compactness. Stuff pillow covers for sweaters etc. My tall dad spent a lot of time on decks inside with whisk broom on our boat. Mom had back issue so this was for him to do. We learned to stow stuff at an early age. It was fun.
Hi guys first have to say love your channel lots of good content and advice. I really like the ikea ones like this one. Another simple hack at ikea the cheap 2 dollar door mats look cheap but hack use as your door treads on the step coming in all we did is tape them on not only nonslip but helps remove loosen dirt before you get inside try it let me know thanks again see u on next video take care
We have that bath mat and a couple of the fake plants in our rv...they're awesome! We don't have the room for several of those containers, but I keep looking for size appropriate ones. IKEA is a fun store that inspires and expands the imagination...and even the food is priced right and is delicious! I love seeing different ways people use their products by "thinking outside the box". It was fun shopping with you!
Use paper n make a template for the area u need to put bins in that way u end up with 1s that fit n the right size. Game changer no more buying n returning bins.
Found PUDDA containers at IKEA and they work very well with the hanging shoe rack. They come in large and small sizes, flexible, and can be taken apart for easy storage. We have a small LTV Unity with a small closet and these work great to organize smaller items. Thanks for all your helpful hits.
Etsy has loads of custom IKEA covers you can treat yourself to if you have a better colour scheme. I don't always appreciate the duller colours in IKEA.
Just found your channel and scored! Although not an RV’er your ideas are pointed from small living to minimalism (well sort of probably clutter free more like it). I am so heading to Ikea for the Dimpa, The handles are perfect and you can see what is in there.
I have to attest that I use ALL of the things you put in your video including the STOTTA under cabinet battery-operated lights to use when I'm not connected to power with LADDA rechargeable batteries. STUK and DRONA storage box for clothes. TROFAST storage boxes for canned food. 365+ Stainless steel pots and pans that can be used on gas fire stove and the TILLREDA induction cooktop. PLUGGLAND folder pocket for bedside books, tablets, and notebooks. TRONES shoe storage right by the front door. SMORBULT and VEKFISK bread baskets that I hung on a hooks on the wall. Plus countless other kitchen tools, bags, bins, knick-knacks, nigs-nags, and tchotchkes that Ikea makes creatively and cost-effectively that just simply work for our RVs.
I don't know how much those food storage containers are but I found similar (ie BPA-free, hard plastic looks like glass with clip lids in black) at Dollarama for $4CAD. Not only do they look nice but for nomadic living their great as no rodents or bugs will get into them 👍
I didn't think Canada had rodents because of the cold winters. Our apartment block had mice for a month and meanwhile I used biscuit tins plus saucepans to store flour etc. The mice ate thru my plastic boxes this spring until we got Rentokil in!

@@GratefulGlamper we had one running and it didn't do anything. And we don't have room for a big one. 😢 I got some plastic bins with lids to put under the couch. I'm hoping that works better. And I'll just have to find somewhere else for blankets and coats.
Don’t skip a couch cause it’s white. Many ikea couches have removable covers, use an in wash dye to easily change the colour. Also works if you have a couch you want to change up. The white covers are usually the cheapest then you can dye it whatever colour you want
Right. Our branch sells fabric pens which are great for customising a plain cover. I like easy botanical patterns - even drawing around leaves is fun. 😊
I used to shop at ikea, I have a table, shelving units, glassware and I had a computer chair. To be brief, I leaned back in the chair, something snapped and I was immediately, along with the back of the chair, on the floor. When I finally got my breath enough to try to get up off the chair back, my neighbors were banging on my door wanting to know what had made the loud thudding sound. The chair back had broken, metal part and all, off the seating part of the chair. All my communications with ikea regarding this matter were totally avoided and ignored! I went to the Woodbridge,VA, IKEA to speak with the manager and, conveniently, told the manager wasn’t there. This is a warning! They are not to be trusted, they will lie, avoid, cover up, anything that is reported that could in any way make them look neglectful. Yes, I was injured. I pursued the issue for months and months with letters and visits to no avail!!! I will never shop there again!
I love love IKEA. I noticed they are so much more expensive in the US than here in Australia. For example, the hanging container you use in the bathroom is $2 here which is equal to about $1.33 US. You pay $4.99 US 😮
is that bathmat made of cotton? cotton absorbs so well, and those nylon mats are horrible, they don't absorb as well. wish i knew, i'll have to investigate that!
According to Google Translate, the word "skuub" is Swedish for "push," and the pronunciation it gives sounds like: SKOO - YUB. Don't know how accurate that is...
No, it was not sponsored any way by IKEA. In fact, we’ve paid IKEA for all the products we’ve purchased for our RV organization. We just enjoy sharing with the community products we recommend for RV living. We hope you enjoyed this free video we put out for you as a gift :)
SO much plastic! How about checking out a thrift store for baskets, etc. And the wooden hardware boxes can be stained. We need to stop buying so much plastic.

I keep all measurements in a list on my phone’s “notes” app. That way I almost always have them. I also carry a small tape measure in my purse 🙃.
It’s all in my iPhone notes and we keep it on the cloud so we both can access it.

Good to know! I’ll have to check them out! Thanks for watching
Which do you prefer?
vacuum bags work really great for storing blankets and winter clothes
I love seeing all the things!
Rodents and bugs happen, so I keep food items in locking containers. Plastic bags like Ziplock have failed me.
PSA/FYI. Big blue bags are PERFECT for moving your kids to and from college.

Cheaper than boxes and reusable for a million things. Genius!!!
@@TeviaRocks Yes! They fold down to nothing and can be used to bring ALL that dirty laundry home 😉.

According to Google Translate, the word "skuub" is Swedish for "push," and the pronunciation it gives sounds like: SKOO - YUB. Don't know how accurate that is...
Interesting
Seems like dollar tree is a better bet, price-wise for baby bins.
Could be? However IKEA bins are definitely higher quality than dollar tree
Haha just bought a dimpa yesterday- went to get more parkla
Oh and yes I bought some fake plants based on another one of your vlogs
👏🏻👏🏻
Wait... glamper hideaway?? Tell me more!
Definitely getting ideas.
Awesome!
I find myself fast forwarding through the obnoxious loud music in between items or hating that the music is louder than her talking.

Battleborn undisclosed product placement?
😂 We have 6 Battleborn batteries and really love them.
@@GratefulGlamper it's more about the fact that it can be seen as paid product placement that is not disclosed. Which is against RUclips ToS
My nearest Ikea is over 3 hrs away
Would love to see someone show products made in the USA.
I sacchetti preferisco quelli sottovuoto
Was this an ikea commercial? How much did they pay you?
No, it was not sponsored any way by IKEA. In fact, we’ve paid IKEA for all the products we’ve purchased for our RV organization. We just enjoy sharing with the community products we recommend for RV living. We hope you enjoyed this free video we put out for you as a gift :)
Good information but the background and in between chat music is a bit jarring on my ears.
Thanks for the feedback
Don't waste precious space storing blankets. Lay them flat under your mattress
May I add one of my pet peeves : people not taking the tags off of their storage containers. Ok don’t get upset I’m just saying what I observed . 😮😊❤
Haha that caught my eye too as I have that same pet peeve 😂
That’s kind of funny. I leave the tag on everything I can. It drives people crazy. Not sure why. Thank you. 😊
I leave mine on for at least awhile so if I find it works well and want some more , I can remember where I got it.
IKEA is actually pronounced as E-Kay-A ( ask any Swede)
Good to know!
Interesting, but the commercials don’t say it like that, lol🍻
SO much plastic! How about checking out a thrift store for baskets, etc. And the wooden hardware boxes can be stained. We need to stop buying so much plastic.
